  1. I'm not up to speed on milled AKs.....

Anybody know if the C39 will accept standard AK stocks meant for stamped receivers or no?

And why does the receiver appear to be angled downward on the stock?

    (looks funky that way)

Was just looking at the Arsenal SAM folders to see if their receiver is angled too and how they do the folder.

The pic shows an adapter for the folder to negate the angle.

Here is your answer on the Sam Folder....

Ken, the receiver is milled to accept the block and the block is pinned internally into the receiver. It could be removed, but it would entail a fair amount of the work, and the receiver has been modified to accept this block.

I don’t have any other better pics than those on the web site.

I played with the SAM7SF. Very nice gun and my LGS had one for just under a grand.

Mine did too. I actually liked it so much, I brought it home. But it came with a steeper price. I hope it shoots as good or better than my Veprs to help me justify the price.

The stock locks up solid as hell, but I really like the sling mount and the ability to operate it while the stock is folded, without removing optics.

You will be impressed with its accuracy and lack of muzzle rise....good choice

I wanted to purchase that one also, but I didnt have the cash back during the introductory price.....wasnt willing to pay the current.....

  3. I dont know about Pittsburgh Pa area but here in the Phila Pa area there are no boars, a few and far between mountain lions, only stories of coyotes and 200-400lb black bears high up in the Pocono mountains who are currently napping. There are bob cats though, not many but they do show up from time to time. In 6 years of camping far out in the Pocono mnts I have seen 2. Around here you're more likely to get shot by another hunter then attacked by anything on 4 legs.

So to answer your question, yes 7.62x39 is enough for a bear. Bears have been taken with 45acp so your Glock should be fine. You would most likely need either cal in fmj for penetration and more then one shot.

Didnt an Alaska man take down a bear with a mag of 5.45?

Most animals, even bears are very quite and a 400lbs black bear can sneak up on you as easily as a house cat. Has happened to our camping party twice. The first time he just sat there and watched us, for how long we dont know. A couple of rounds under his feet and a few over his head and he hauled ass back into the woods. The second time was a few years later when one of the party woke up early morning and saw a bear trying to getaway wit hthe bag of trash. A little yealling and he ran off. He walked through the whole camp site and no one heard a thing. Most of the time when a human and an animal meet its because it was an accidental meeting. Otherwise someone is stalking someone.

Dont know the odds....but they are plentiful (this mall is 10 minutes from me and hunting area)

They were prob after one of those tasty Chicken subs in the mall annex

  4. 10 round polymer and a metal 40

I think the spring walking off center on the trigger may have been it

Cant get to the range for a few more days.

I put the spring back into proper place and hand cycles several loads.

I put the spring back into the improper spot that it traveled to and I got a jam......

    Hopes its that simple

I hate CTD myself, but for $560 shipped.....I'm ashamed to say I did it.....

I guess the outrage most people felt for the disgusting levels of price gouging CTD did in the wake of newtown has worn off. Me I will never buy from them becuase of it.

Cant you return it to Century (for warranty repair) I beleive they are the ones who built them?

  5.

I should hear back in a day or two from the game commission on the regulations (which I will post)

My biggested concern is 7.62x39 adequate.....Dont really want to spend money on at 10mm or .44 mag or 50S&W if I have what I need in my Sam7k

Of course I will own one of those other pistols in the future maybe a glock in .45acp or 10mm

I understand.  Not sure about black bear vs 7.62x39, that is a good question.  I could see it at close range dealing damage to a cat like a mountain lion.  x39 will take down a boar and they're pretty tough, go through briar bushes like cannonballs.

You can get a Glock in .45 and get a conversion barrel for 10mm and shoot both .45 ACP and 10mm with the conversion barrel and 10mm mags.

Picking up a Glock 21 SF Gen3 in three hours/////‏

  6. I did notice after I got home and tore it down that the spring on the safety side of the trigger was slide way to the inside.....away from the direction of the receiver wall.

I just slid it over to the correct position now and hand cycled a dozen rounds through.....

Guess I will hit the range tomorrow and focus on that area.

With the spring in the position I describe....would that cause the trigger not to reset, but have a round in the chamber ready to go?

  7. Bought my son a Yugo OPAP from Cheaper than dirt a few months ago

Received it with a nice split in the handguard....oh well....under $600

Noticed the rear sight block was tilted somewhat to the left....oh well.....under $600

Took it to the range today:

I loaded 10 rounds into a mag and function tested for him.....no problem

Let him shoot five rounds....just to get a feel for the light kick....no problem

Decided he was ready to shoot:

Pulled the trigger and round fired......then nothing, so I take the rifle and pull back the carrier and eject a unspent round.

He must be limp shouldering it?

OK son, try again, but hold it into your shoulder tighter.

Pulled the trigger and round fired......then nothing, so I take the rifle and pull back the carrier and eject a unspent round.

So, I try it.....same thing that just happened to him.....over and over and over.....

    Whats wrong?

  8.

I sent an email asking for my parts back, finished or not. I offered additional funds for shipping. At this point, I just want my stuff back. Since he is selling his milling machine I would suggest getting your parts back any way possible. If thats even a possibility at this point.

IF someone is going to go over there, PLEASE PLEASE get everyones parts back, EVERY single one of us I am sure will pay to have it returned to them.

I will be happy to throw some gas money and a little extra ( for shipping and the trouble) if somebody close to Pauly can go get parts back. I shipped mine in Sept so I know he probably has not gotton them done yet. If he is selling his equipment then (obviously) it's a sure sign none of our stuff will be completed by Pauly. Any one with me on this? and WHO? would be willing to go get parts?

Next question would be..Where do we all go  from here?...My Saiga was jamming every other shot (and that was with puck/spring and other adjustments); I would still like to have my parts processed. Who is our next in line who can do this work?

    Thanks

There are other vendors on here......I would concentrate on getting it back first

  9. It is in top condition....no flaws I can notice and the preban drums are hard to come by

Just another one of my issues where I want to add something that I will use (potentially more), but dont have money to have both due to those damn bills

    Another view....
