  1.

I love my hi-power. Unfortunately, it's so darn beautiful that I rarely shoot it. It's like a fine brandy you only break out for special occassions.

My feelings precisely.  Below is my 'hand select' grade MKIII purchased from AIM Surplus about a year ago, which I sent off to be reblued and NOVAK sights installed (and some other things done to her):

    Wow, NICE!

What kind of hammer is that you swapped the factory spur one out with?

  2. What's the big deal with Browning Hi-Powers? I know they're legendary, but why exactly? I've never shot or even held one.(obviously) Is it because they're considered collector's items due to being rare? They're SAO pistols, right?

GOT IT.  Clicked on hand guns.  Did not brush over it.  Do we have any choice in ambo safeties since I am a South Paw?

I'm a southpaw as well. An ambi safety would be nice.

  3. I believe the FBI is leading the charge back to 9mm with other agencies beginning to follow suit. Apparently, this is due to the recent crop of more reliably expanding 147gr JHPs.

I've been saying basically the same thing for years. with some of the modern 9mm +p and +p+ loads and the quality of hollow points they have available today, the ballistic difference the 9mm and .40 is almost negligible. The .40 does have a little more energy, I will give it that.

  4. Best way to fuck them all is nuke their little black rock in Mecca.  They all ascend to heaven from that rock.  That's why it's death to any infidel if he so much as mentions attacking Mecca.

Nuke it!  10 megetons should make a crater a mile wide and a few hundred feet deep.  It did at Enowetok.

They can go to hell, go directly to hell, do not pass GO, do not collect 72 demon harlots.

I think we need to do a little preemption here. (watch the vid)

Let's find them and shut them down!

    Fixed it for you.

  5. 177K on my Dodge Ram Cummins Diesel. Just broken in. If you are seeking high millage from a vehicle, seek out a Diesel.

A friend of mine from high school had an old Volvo diesel that his parents gave him, it had over 500k miles on it. It smoked like a chimney, but it was still going. I read in the news a fews years back about a guy from Canada I think, he topped a million miles on a Chevy/GMC pickup with a Duramax in it.

  6. I have a CZ 75 PCR 9mm. I love everything about it, except I can't, for whatever reason, seem to get used to the dadgum trigger, even after about 350 rounds. Usually the more I shoot a pistol, the more proficient I become with it, but that doesn't seem to be the case with the CZ.

I've been wanting to get a single stack for CC and I've been considering a Walther PPS. The only drawback that I can think of is,first and foremost, mag capacity. Then again,I've never shot or even held a PPS, so there may be others, I don't know.

So, what do you guys think? Would you do it? Oh, and I can only have one or the other, not both, right now anyway.

Thanks in advance for any input.

    Hey Darth,

Have you been following the whole NPAP / Rob Ski controversy lately?  There are a lot of people worried about the heat treat on these rifles now.

Apparently his review pissed off Century who demanded he send back all of their T&E guns immediately.  Hopefully it's overblown or if not, maybe it just affects a particular batch of receivers.

From what I've been hearing/reading, it's not the heat treat of the receiver. Some of them are coming in with recoil springs that are too light, causing the carrier to batter the rear trunnion. In some cases, this is causing the receiver to crack. Also, the ridges on the G2 hammer face are causing peening on the nub on the rear of the carrier.

I think he's talking about the recent torture test where the receiver bent when they ran it over with the SUV, none of the others have done that yet.

Whoa! I hadn't seen that yet. Thanks for posting.

Alot of people are installing XP recoil springs, and reprofiling the G2 hammer (like they do for Saiga/Vepr conversions) as a solution. I would probably install a recoil buffer too for good measure.

I read this on the AK forum. It's a rather lengthy thread but it's got some pretty good info.  http://www.theakforum.net/forums/30-yugoslavian.1777384-yugo-paps-made-garbage-metal.html

Hmm,for some reason that link doesn't go to the specific thread I was referring to. It's the thread titled "Are Yugo PAPS made from garbage metal?"
