  1. I'll see if I can get better pictures. If I recall correctly the adapter locks fine into place and is flush with the bottom of the receiver. I will take a look and double check (I'll have to dig it out of the back of the safe, I haven't touched it in a year and a half). I'll see if I can find my order information, it has been about two years.

  2. I installed mine following the instructions with multiple measurements. It feeds most of the time but will have some hang ups. I have not installed a bullet guide. I bought two for my two rifles but only installed one due to the feeding issue and magazines not dropping free. Not sure what I am going to do with my adapters now.

Pics of install? Mag type used?

Sounds like your rounds are nosediving. If this is the case (and assuming your measurements are correct) the follower is tilting as it's stripping rounds (bad mag follower/design). Try a different mag.

Not dropping free is touch and go depending on mag manufacturer, something we have no control over. As stated before as well as on the sheet we recommend PMAGS. They are STANAG compliant and consistent in quality and reliability (non tilting follower).

We've used many mags for testing.... USGI surplus and PMAGS is what we recommend.

we used a mill and measured continually. I tried to take pictures but my camera won't focus in close enough to get a good picture. When I get close enough it is too blurry. I have tried all different types of mags. Surprisingly pmags are the worst in the lot. I have an old colt mag that is the best but it still does not drop free. I was pretty sure when I bought it that they were being touted as drop free but I could be mistaken.

I have nose diving no matter which magazine I use even pmags or others with anti-tilt followers.

  4. I have shot 4 different brands/types of shells through my drum mag. The only problems I have encountered were with the 2 1/2 shells. (It is made for 3 inch) I have about 150 through it now and have had no problems with the 3 inch shells.

  5. These drums are awesome. I've put almost 100 rounds through mine. I just wish they would make on the same size as the 12 round drum. Now I have to buy a reloader for .410 because it is far too expensive to blast through 30 rounds at regular price.

  6. Both of the hang ups where on the bottom of the feed ramp (Chamber was probably the wrong word to use.). It appears that if they would have been tilted a little more or a little longer they would have fed just fine. It deformed the front edge of the shell pretty good. I have them kicking around some where I will see if I can find them and post a pic for you.

  7. So I have shot almost 100 rounds through two different promag drums. Here is my short review. Both magazines have functioned flawlessly with 3" rounds. I did shoot about 20 2 1/2" rounds through one and had two FTF. Both of these rounds got hung up on the bottom of the feed chamber.

Like many mags there is a little bit of fitting that my be required. I need to shave a little off the back locking tab so it will lock in easier. The magazines are a little bit difficult to load because you have a smaller surface to push down on, it is not unmanageable just a little difficult.

The size of the magazine is the same as a MD Arms 12 gauge mag. It does get in the way a little bit of your support arm when shooting if you do not have a vertical fore-grip. It would be nice to see Promag make one the same size as their 12 round mag.

It sure is fun to blow through 30 rounds as fast as you can pull the trigger. However, it has pushed me to the point that I am starting to reload to help mitigate the cost.

  8. I was just concerned about 922r compliance. I did go test these out today after a hasty conversion. I shot 3 inch and 2 1/2 inch. The 3 inch (20 rounds) all fed fine with out a problem. The 2 1/2 had two FTF. Two shells caught on the bottom lip of the feed ramp. I had the same type of FTF with my Saiga 12 when it was under gassed, but that does not seem to be the issue here. I don't know if a little tweaking would fix it for the 2 1/2 shells or not. I do have to say it was quite fun blasting away with 20 rounds at a time.

  9. Are these "beta" drums from Promag? They aren't listed on their site, just the 12 ga. drums

I don't know if they are beta drums or not. I had seen them at a gun show back in the summer but I did not have a 410 yet. When I asked about them no one had seen them either. Cobra has been saying for a while that promag was going to make some but no one on this site had seen one. So there was a gun show this weekend and I was able to find the same vendor an buy a few.

They hand cycle fine but I have not shot one yet. There is a little bit of up and down movement in front of the mag where it locks into the mag well. It is pretty tight on the magazine catch on mine and I will probably have to file just a little off the mag to let the catch work properly. I will probably cannibalize one of my other saigas for the parts so I can convert it tonight and shoot it tomorrow.

  10. Your gunbroker ad reads like you're trying to pass off either unworking prototypes or a scam. It's odd that you have working Promag stock that Promag isn't making available to the public. Buyer beware.

If you're legit, I apologize. But you're trying to drive up the price, and your description absolves the seller of liability.

I can see your point. However, it has been my experience that different guns and magazines can be temperamental. I just want the buyer to be informed that I have not tested this mag myself. My gun is still in the stock configuration and I can not test out the mag yet. If someone local has a converted gun and would like to test it I am fine with that other that it is would no longer be listed as new. Once I convert my gun I would test the crap out of it.

As far as driving up the price that is a little off base. I posted in my first post what I paid. I added a little bit ($15) to cover my time and gas. I priced it right at what I did the other one I bought for another member.

So you found a vendor with some, bought some, there are more left, but you are refusing to release vendor info while you are auctioning your extra off on GB? Nice play! I am jealous of your level of evilness!

However, ya know, they gonna linch you for that here. Good luck man.

Not quite but close. I bought a few, sold one to a member here and have one more I am willing to part with. So I decided to put it on gunbroker so who ever wants it can have a chance at it. Now like I said the vendor had two more that my friend is interest in buying and I told him I would not give out the info on the vender until he decides if he wants them or not.

  12.

With the Judge creating demand for good ammo at a good price, and this, the .410 looks like a good buy now.

Problem with the judge is that only a few models shoot 3" shells and they are a but unwieldy. The majority only shoot 2 1/2 inch shells and all the good holsters are made for these models. This leaves us with a problem if we want to stock up on 410. I was holding out hope that the drum would feed 2 1/2 inch shells, now I'm more disappointed than ever.

Any chance that puppy will feed the smaller shells?

I only had two 2 1/2 shell lying around last night. But I threw them in and both fed just fine as I hand cycled it. I know this is not a conclusive test but it looks good so far.

Don't by any chance have contact info for the vendor to share?

Can you take a couple pics with the mag in your 410 so we can all see how bad ass it looks?

The vendor only had two left (after I bought a few) and one of my friends is thinking of buying them. So I am going to wait for him to decide before I give out the vendor information.

As far as picture in my 410, my youngest lost my camera and I still haven't found it. My friend took the pictures that I posted. Besides I just got my 410 on Friday and have not had a chance to convert it and it won't look very impressive as a sporter.

  13. So on my other thread I asked about a 410 drum mag I had seen at the gun show. The consensus was that they are like unicorns because no one has one. Well we had a gun show again today and I ran down at lunch to find the vendor I saw last time.

And low and behold they had some. They are 30 round (three inch I think) made by promag. I just bought a 410 last week and so I bought one to see if it will work. Once I ge home tonight I will post pictures. Price was $135 with tax (kind of high). I would have bought more but I did not know if I would find them so did did not plan on spending more than $200.

    PICTURES NOW UP.

  14. I know Promag makes a 10 round 12ga drum for the S12 (very stupid in my opinion), I could see how that could be mistaken for a 410 drum. Maybe it was setting next to an S410? I second what Saiga Power's comment, if you see any more, buy them all! You won't get stuck with them, I know plenty of people itching for one, myself included.

There was a pile of them and they were sitting next to the 12 gauge drums. However, I know it was a 410 because of the the size of the mouth and the slots. I picked one up to look at it because I was curious. I will hit the next gun show and check. I figured that one had been released but I had just not heard about it. Maybe I will try and contacted the guns show organizers and find out what vender it was.

  15. I was at a guns show over the weekend and saw some 410 drums for the saiga. They looked like they were made by Promag(I didn't pay a whole lot of attention). I was looking at the saiga 12 stuff and just happened to notice them. I don't have a 410 yet but those made me think about getting one. Just wondering if anyone has one and how the work.
