    I only got one of the mags, I was supoused to get two of these, one I ordered from Atlanitc and one that we got free with Vepr 12.

    So dose anyone know if Atlantic is going to ship the second mag?

    I was in the same boat where I ordered a spare mag from Atlantic plus the free one. Both magazines came in the same envelope this afternoon.

    My SGM 12 rounders arrived today as well. They lock into place no problem. At first I thought that they were not activating the LRBHO but I found that if I hand rack the action violently on an empty mag (as it would when the last round has discharged) that the LRBHO activated. I hope before too long to be able to test them with real ammo. My guess is that since the spring pressure is lower than the factory 5 they need a little kick from recoil to activate the LRBHO.

     

    So pumped am I to have more than 5 rounds now! Plus they look great in the gun.

    I think I may have gotten confused in previous threads but for those of us who ordered Vepr 12s from Atlantic Firearms, will you be shipping us the magazines directly or will they go to Atlantic for them to repackage the magazines and then ship them on to us?

     

    If shipping directly, are they going out with the shipments today?

     

    Can't wait to try them out! :D

    Make sure that your extractor pin is not coming loose. I had that problem once and I thought the gun was dirty so I opened up my adjustable plug but then it stopped running altogether and it was due to the extractor pin working its way out and increasing friction.

    isnt the whole point of the sgm design that they can be cut down to other lengths?

     

    SGM? ... Are there specific capacities associated with each ridge for the floor plate? (10,8,5,3,?)

     

    Indeed. If you buy a 12 rounder the next ridge will be for 10, then 8, 5 and 2. I think the 12 can be cut down to 8 without changing the spring but I can't remember. The 5 and 2 have to use a shorter spring.

    I have not had a chance to function check my VEPR 12 since I got it a few weeks ago due to the constraints of time and the lack of good public places to shoot in the Cincinnati area.

     

    This morning a new range called Point Blank opened up in the area and I figured I would check it out and check the function of the VEPR at the same time. Even though I got there only an hour after they opened it was already pretty busy and several news organizations were there to cover the story. I was placed on a lane next to where one of the channels was getting footage for the story. When I pulled out the VEPR 12 they had the usual, "What the heck is that?!? That is a shotgun!?" Then the reporter wanted to get a shot of me shooting it. In the video in the link below they show the first five shots I ever took using some Centurion slugs. The video of me shooting the VEPR is towards the end of the segment.

    Fortunately the gun ran like a champ with no malfs of any kind and the LRBHO worked every time. I had two factory mags with me and they locked in without undue effort. I do agree that I think that it recoils more than my Saiga 12. In the end I ran 26 Centurion slugs through it, 10 Remington #8 game loads and the gentleman in the lane next to me shot 3 of my Centurion slugs without any problems. Overall I am really pleased with my purchase. biggrin.png

  21. which rock and lock mags work in vepr-12

    My factory 2 rounder (the 2 round in a 2 round body, not the 2 round in a 5 round body) would also lock into place on the VEPR. However, the Izhmash factory rock n' lock 8 round magazine would not. The bodies are shaped differently enough to not allow it to go in without some serious modification which I won't be doing. :)

    I have 1 Saiga factory 10 round magazine in 7.62x39 (left side of image below). Will sell it for $20 shipped or trade for a factory Beretta 92 15/MecGar 18 round magazine in great or better condition.

     

    I also have 1 Molot factory 10 round magazine in 7.62x39 (right side of image below). Will sell it for $20 shipped or trade for a factory Beretta 92 15/MecGar 18 round magazine in great or better condition.

    Finally I have 2 aftermarket Beretta 950 8 round magazines (actual manufacturer unknown) that may cause a few feeding issues which is probably related to feed lip separation but I desire not to futz with them. :-) Will sell them as a pair for $20 shipped or trade for a factory Beretta 92 15/MecGar 18 round magazine in great or better condition.
