  1. did a 104-style conversion to my SGL21. bulgy fsb/gb, bulgy rsb (had to replace it because the original was bent like shit and crooked), added pistol grip reinforcement plate. extended brake by chris butler / ak-usa. sandblasted, and refinished with duplicolor low and semi gloss, then baked for a little over an hour (forgot todo the gas tube though). just need a 100 series stock and 500m rear sight leaf, then refinish, and thats it, but right now im happy with it :)

  2. well i got my refund. according to him ukraine customs seized the mag bodies. he gave me a refund, and ill be using the internals as repairs for existing mags.

in the meantime i ordered an afghanka and 45rnd bake from vlad @ soviet-military. the afghanka made it, nothing mag related has arrived. he told me he sent it in seperate packages. lets see what happens..

  3. Damn. This sucks to hear. I got mine super fast.

Yeah, I'm thinking that guys that ordered a bunch of mags might be having problems with Customs.

Technically, we're allowed to import quantities of mags as long as the value is below $200 (IIRC). Above that in value and you need an ATF import form.

I'm wondering if the Customs guys are looking at U.S. retail value of this stuff and deciding to shit can the shipment.

I ordered and received 8 mags. There were two boxes one containing 6 and one containing 2. I imagine they came through customs side by side, but I think 6 is the max that would be in any individual package. This $200 limit, is it per year or at one time. Said another way, how often could you order these mags?

I still think it is very likely that anyone one a "ban" state such as New York would be lucky to receive anything. I'll bet customs would look closely enough and realize this and confiscate. I wish there was a way to find this out for sure. I don't want to see FT get discouraged and "leave the business". If he were to resend and those mags didn't make it, how much can he afford to lose? The way I see it, if they are not allowed someplace, the proper thing to do would be to say thanks to FT and consider it your own fault and take the loss. It is the buyer"s responsibility to know what they can or cannot have in the gun world.

Not trying to point fingers or imply anything, just my :2c:

take a $200 loss and just go "welp, they caught me slippin. my bad, better luck next time." ?

    no offense, but screw you.

200 bucks is a good amount of change, this isnt a 5 buck box at taco bell or some shit.

the law states that i can have as much round capacity as i can as long as pre 1994. i know what i can and cant have, so dont tell me forget it its "just" $200.

i have gotten shit from ukraine off ebay nonwtheless. as has my friend. he bought 30 rbd plums from ukraibe once; 6 of them. not the first time either. ive gotten stuff as well, one time it was confiscated. this is the 2nd. tge times it came in, it was seperate packages, shipped days apart. one was body, other was internals. they were all marked airsoft or toy parts. seller should be aware of things like this.

the base of ft's genitals: your lips are around it.

    my two cents

  4. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't received mine yet in Louisiana... Our gun laws are about as liberal as they come and I am speculating customs nabbed my package... Maybe that new Jim Caveisal show on tv where the government is monitoring our every posts here, emails, etc. is true and intercepting our packages!...

    Probably wrong.

did you contact FT yet regarding a replacement?

  5. well its saturday and i still havent gotten my stuff. gave FT an email informing him, lets see what he does...

I was looking at mags in the saiga-12.com store and it says there is a 10rd restriction in New York and it looks like you are in NY, could this have anything to do with it? I don't know the laws of your state, but, at first glance......

ya on new stuff, but these are definitely pre-1994 so its ok to have them.

  6. well, i got in contact with FT. says if they dont arrive by this saturday, or the USPS site says they havent reached USA by this saturday, then he is going to send replacements. so far they still have not arrived, and no changes on the status as per ukrainian and usps sites.

if they come in tomorrow and saturday, i will post pics and tell FT about it.

wishful thinking, but itd be awesome if they arrived at the same time my AK-USA build does. 027.gif

im guessing the state you live in makes a difference as well, for you guys that got it in just a day over two weeks.

  7. punched the pins of the fsb, pulled it out along with the brake, cleaned it up, cut and crowned, saw that the barrel really is worn to shit. test fired it yesterday and the keyholing issue is gone but its innacurate. 15 rounds aimed at center mass with sights on battle at 50 yrds, barely any hit. let my friend shoot it to confirm. though according to him it started to get a bit better after 90 rounds. 120 rnds milsurp total.

ordered a new bulgy barrel from whatacounty, guess ive got no choice now

  8. managed to get alot, but not al, of the carbon shit out. also opened up the hole where the brake was hitting. then put 30 rounds of silver bear, 20 rounds of wolf mil classic, and 30 rounds of milsurp. still keyholing but not as bad, though still wildly innacurate...

found a way to check the bore headspacing with the welded brake attatched.

took a pulled 5.45 and 5.56, superglued them to the back of ink pen cartridges, and painted them white with enamel paint pen, put them in the front of the bore and spun them around lightly.

    here are the results:

    in the problem rifle:

    SavedPicture-2.jpg

left is the 5.56, right is the 5.45. notice how the 5.56 stops right before the crimp.

now look closely at the 5.45 and see how it goes all the way to where the red lacquer begins.

i repainted the bullets, and then i did the same thing to my other bulgy with original barrel, this one currently has no issues:

    SavedPicture-1-1.jpg

notice how this time the 5.45 stops just right before the red lacquer starts.

my hypothesis is ive had a 5.56 barrel all along. but if that truly is the case, then why did i not have keyholing issues in the beginning?

  9. payment sent, cant wait! 027.gif

by the way, will there be any problems with customs?

i remember this one time i ordered an "airsoft" izzy bake off ebay, the guy sent two packages and told me it was because of custom. one was the body, second was the internals. well, i got the body. never got the other stuff.

  10. here are some pic and vids of the inside of the brake. took it with my phonecam, and shined a small keychain flashlight to each one of the side port holes.... what do you think, could this be the culprit? it looks like the martian landscape in there...

    couple pics of the chamber:

and just to confirm, here is a pic of a 5.56 sitting in the chamber, and how the 5.45 sits...

and heres a vid of the brake for more detail:

finally here is where the bullet was hitting.

    keyholing.png

notice that its at the top part of the brake. putting it together, the crap in the brake caused the bullets to exit fucked up, and after the bullets wore off enough from the brake, it started grazing and hence why it was shooting low.

well besides going in there with drillbits to gash everything up and risk fucking it up even more, isnt there some carbon cleaners i can soak the brake in for a day or two that will at least get rid of enough so that this doesnt happen?

  11. its silver soldered on for compliance, it does not move at all. i have never had any issues until now. and i doubt its the ammo. its either the carbon buildup, the crown or the barrel doing this. so starting wirh the simplest and hopefully the right solution, how do i get rid of all the crap in there without destroying the crown?
