  1. This past weekend I ran about 200 rounds of winchester bulk through 2 Saiga-12s and 1 Vepr-12. I used the following mags;

    12 round SGM Vepr-12

    5 round stock Vepr-12

    12 round SGM Saiga-12

    12 round promag Saiga-12

    12 round promag drum Saiga-12

    20 round MDArms drum Saiga-12

    5 round stock Saiga-12

One thing I noticed was that all the guns at some point would FTE using basically any magazine. After some experimenting with the hold on the weapon I realized the gun was short stroking like a pistol that was limp wristed. If you guys are having trouble, really get behind the gun and hold her still. Letting the gun be fired one handed or lightly on the shoulder would induce the FTE.

Once I really held the gun tight the damn things cycled everything. I was using factory stocks, so my upper pectoral area is kind of sore. biggrin.png

    EDIT: VEPR-12 MODS

    -CSS Russian Clone Brake

    -CSS 922r Gas Puck

    -Tromix Modified G2 Trigger

  2. Atlantic Firearms is practicing smart business sense.

It would be stupid of them to leave money on the table by selling them at a lower price, just as I am sure their distributor was smart and raised the price on them.

More power to them. Let them raise the prices as high as they can. We're not in a state of emergency and they are not "price gouging". They are following one of the most basic principles of supply and demand. That being said. Am I going to make future purchases with a vendor who over charges simply because they can? No. Am I going to respect that vendor and reccomend them to my friends? No. Why you ask? Because vedors who screw their customers don't deserve repeat business.

With that mentality you will have no one to buy from. Please share with us a company selling Saiga 12's for 400 - 500 dollar levels that will stay in business.

  3. I have one in the shop now. It doesn't work worth a fuck with the mag that came with the gun. The rim of the shell hits the BHO lever causing the leading edge of the shell to tip upward and get behind the barrel hood with 2.75" shells. Sometimes it happens when the full magazine is first installed, jamming the first round, but it almost always causes a jam on the last round.

The gun works fine with a modified AGP mag in place, but that kinda defeats the purpose of paying an additional $100 bucks for an automatic BHO.

Is the BHO feature something that can be bypassed (or removed completely) for when using non-factory 5 round BHO magazines?
