  1. I understand completely. I was not fishing for a procedure, rather I was concerned because I didn't heat treat my handle. They seem to be holding up, only time will tell. Thanks for the info.

  2. Pauly,

What are you opinions on heat treating/stress relieve after welding on the carrier? My understanding is for this type of material it's recommended, but I have an apprehension about putting excessive heat on machined parts.

I'm looking to install a custom charging handle on my saiga 12. I'm looking for new ideas install tips and pictures.

    Install tips;

Preheat the base metal on the carrier & make a non porous weld.

  3. There is this article. Read the whole thing then decied. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/57158-diy-left-side-charging-handle/ I strongly recommend tig. I would avoid the brazing altogether. I just made my turn up where the orignal handle ended. My final pieces dimensions not including the ball bearing were 0.25 .975 x 1.35. I don't know if that helps, but I've got the same set up on my s12 and my 410, both run great. I also know that many of the vendors on this forum do these things for relatively fair prices, considering the work ingvolved. Good luck.

  4. Fuck ranges.

    They're all idiots.

The extreme safety idiots piss me off more than the ignorant idiots.

I'll just drive up to the woods thank you very much.

I guess I don'r realize how lucky I am to have a farm and to have my own range where I can shoot anything, anytime and from any position that I want. :super:

    I hate you. :haha:

I hate him too, I gotta drive 100 miles to shoot like that. But you know what it's SOOO fucking worth it!

  5. I'm hoping I'll be that user!

2: where did you get to see the linkage?

3: lots of shit is preordered (definately not my favorite way to do things)

4: Who makes them, who has one, and how much?

Still waiting for the first regular user to post that they have one of these first...

Second the trigger linkage setup looks like garbage.

Third its still not here and its vaporware

Fourth other people offer bullpup conversion kits and they arn't made of plastic.

  6. I received an email from Bjorn stating that it would ship between July 1-31. With worst possible no later than August 15. If I haven'ts a tracking number by then he'll have a request for refund,,and CSS will have yet another order from me.

Thanks for the update, I'm hoping we'll see something soon. I've paid via credit card, the CC company is aware, and I have a bit before they need to back charge if they don't deliver. We'll see, I'm still remaining hopeful.

  7. while he's at it, have him grab me a 5gallon bucket of argon.

Given the huge popularity of duck bill spreaders why not make one?

I am not a metal worker so I guess if there is a technical issue I would like to know it.

OK ill bite , whats a duck bill spreader , would you find it on the shelf next to the re-bar strecher or the sky hook , or is it over by the 10 penny toe nails ? :lolol:

  8. The only issue I've ever had at my local range is one day I was out testing the new 410 conversion and got repremanded ( by a 14 year old range officer) for folding the stock. He came up and shouted "unfold that stock or you'll have to bag the shot gun and be asked to leave!". First off, I asked him " Is that tone nessesary? I'm a long time patron here and I don't appricate being spoken to that way. So I suggest unless you wish to lose my business afterI have a a word with your manager, you'll rephrase that" Without hesitation he replied "Sir range rules forbid shotguns be fired without the stock shouldered" I said "Fair enough, but let me ask you one question: Am I allowed to fire a Judge at this range?" He asnwered "Ofcourse, just not bird shot because it spreads over other targets" ( whats funny about this is I wasn't at the paper targets at all,. I was in an isolated area reserved for shot guns in which it's just a 55 gallon drum to shoot at) So I continued "So I'm allowed to fire a Tarus Jude with 3" magnums one handed?" RO: " it's a pistol, why wouldn't you?" Me: " So what your telling me, is I'm allowed to fire a lighter wieght pistol with the same shells and significantly greater recolil, immediately next to other shooters, but I'm forbiden to shoot this 410 shot gun that has about 5 times more mass, and two points of contact, while isolated in a mesh cage 40 feet from other shooters because it's more dangerous?" The boy " Sir, I'm not sure the reason, it's just a general rule we have to follow, you can ask the lady inside she makes the rules." Ofcourse I did just that. Her reasoning was " It's just easier to out law that feature than have our range officers learn particulars of every individual arm" I replied " I understand your logic, but maybe it'd be easier if you hired kids that were leagaly old enough to be employed and maybe even possess firearms in the first place" Her response was simple "You don't like the range rules shoot somewhere else" Which really sucks because it's a 40min drive to anywhere else. But I'm a man of conviction so fuck that place.

  9. Spoons? Remind me to skip thanksgiving at your house!

This is somewhere in the realm of myth and chemistry. I've heard of stainless steel for removing onion and garlic smell, but have never had this work for me. I've tried using spoons and such, no luck.

This kind of thing might work if it's impregnated with either colloidal silver or copper, both of which are poisonous to bacteria. The bacteria is what is responsible for the smell, it's actually them degrading your sweat and other secretions. The silver/copper thing is actually fairly common, I think there are a few cities that use the metals in their subway and bus grabrails for anti-microbial covering. There's also socks, and they work on the same principal.

I'd try a different deoderant, or maybe the deoderant rock, I've used that before with some success.
