  1. Thanks for catching the error! Correction - The V-Plug will not make your gun cycle any more reliably. If it won't cycle low brass, then you need your gas ports widened or at least a low power return spring to start off. It will, however, give you more settings in order to fine-tune your already working Saiga for different power loads.

I have the gunfixer gas adjustment knob installed. I mostly shoot the federal walmart ammo and the gun cycles it without problem. this gun went to a gunsmith for most of the work so everything was very nicely tuned

  2. i started out with an intrafuse hand guard.it was solid enough, but i found the rails too short. for my purposes anyway.

good looking piece, what paint or coating did you use?

    oh, welcome !

duracoat. So far so good. the only wear is from the safety selector. It has held up pretty good but will definitely wear it down eventually.

I have put several mags through it in rapid succession and got the barrel really hot but the finish stays looking really nice so i think it will hold up in the long run.

  3. Hi guys,

Well I'm new here! not new to forums though, picked up my first Saiga 12 and figured I would join here to learn some things. My gun is fully converted, has had lots and lots and lots of upgrades and work done to it.

    anyways have a few questions:

what is the 3 port vs. 4 port. I assume that is the gas ports but would like to know when the change occurred and why?

Also, what about the JTE magwell? what are the opinions on that and the goods/bads?

any opinions about a saiga intrafuse handguard? I have a new one that I would consider putting on my next S12, but also thinking about selling it.

I am looking for a 20 round drum as well. I have a pro mag 12. I haven't got to shoot with it yet, I just finished doing the fitting so now I can fit it in very nice. hopefully it functions as well.

any other info you want to toss my way would be great. I'll keep looking around here and finding out more as I go along.

here is a picture for your viewing pleasure!

  4. I have heard the same thing about tapco stuff. The only thing that I had on my S12 that was tapco was the collapsible stock. it works but it was wobbly and no recoil pad.

so I put a CTR on it from one of my ARs and I love it!
