  1. Hi, I am wanting to reinstall the vent rib on my S12 and I'm looking for parts.  Specifically I need the leaf spring that goes in the front of the rib and the sight block that goes into the rear dovetail that the rib attaches to but am willing to buy the whole assembly if need be.

    Please let me know if you can help out.

    Thanks.

  2. Sorry it took me so long. Here are some pics. The neoprene sleeve that goes on the stock is missing. I misplaced it so it's not on there until I find it but you guys will get the idea.post-46622-0-32441400-1363230085_thumb.jpg

    I'll try and get a better pic later too.

    i like the simplicity of this one but will it still look good? and the tang does not need to be removed correct?

    i do like the one picture that was posted, very clean. i just dont want it to look bad.

    That is the exact one that I have and the Enidine will work with it. It will look great and the tang does not need removed. Trust me, you would be extremely happy with it.

    Hello guys....

    I was thinking of this setup....

    1. RIFLE DYNAMICS - AK47/AK74 M4 Stock Adapter

    @http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/stock-forend-parts/rifle-stocks/ak-m4-stock-adapter-sku100011376-55411-113111.aspx

    2. DPMS - Butt Stock Extension Tube

    @http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/stock-forend-parts/stock-hardware/tubes/butt-stock-extension-tube-sku231000048-17502-41387.aspx

    3. MAGPUL - AR-15/M16/AR-10 MOE RIFLE STOCK

    @http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/stock-forend-parts/rifle-stocks/moe-rifle-stock-black-sku100009585-45515-103195.aspx

    4. and I think I need a screw(Butt Stock Screw, Upper, A2)

    Am I missing anything?.......

    One Thing that concerns me is the RF adapter looks to be a little "high" but in line with the barrel. And there is a lil "void" that is there(right behind where the cover snaps in) that looks a little funny.

    here is a link to the website RF @ http://www.rifledynamics.com/shop/

    Sorry if I kind of highjacked a little, but I am learning as well. Thanks for all the input. I do not like the idea of cutting the tang.......but it seems to be the norm. Do you think I should just save up and shoot for the Bonesteel folder?

    Any input is greatly appreciated.

    That setup would work and yes you would need the buttstock screw. I personally would just go for the bonesteel if you're interested in a folding stock at all but don't think that you could go wrong either way.

    Is there any way you'd be willing to post a picture so I can see what it looks like installed with the stock? If possible with the stock out and the stock folded

    I'll take some today or tomorrow and post them up.

  5. There are other threads about this that may be more detailed than my post here but here are the basics.

    1. Depress leaf spring that acts as detent for front adjustment knob. Unscrew front adjustment knob until front is disconnected.

    2. Knock pin out at rear and remove rail.

    This will take the rail itself off. If you want to preserve this for later use, be careful not to lose the springs or adjustment screw. If you are doing this to install a quad rail or something similar, then there may be more work required depending ion which one you choose. This could mean grinding/ filing down the post that the adjustment knob attaches to. With an extended quad rail, drifting out or grinding/ filing down the rear sight base that the rib was pinned in may be necessary.

  6. Does Bonesteel make an option for this setup? Love my Bonesteel folder!

    Yes, Thant's what I have. Bonesteel folding mechanism that is threaded like the lower receiver on an AR and an Ace buttstock mounted in it. I love it. Locks up tight.

  7. Is Pauly's Steeling still doing the bolt work? No response to any e-mails or PMs, so it looks like I will be doing this on my own too.

    Well I see that he did post on Feb 14th and it looks like maybe he is not taking on any new work until he clears his backlog.

    So I will still probably end up doing this on my own.

    Pauly is still doing his thing. He is backed up and last week announced here that he has put a moratorium on accepting new work for, IIRC, a month, so he can get caught up. Search for his post.

    He stopped taking new work in on the 17th. He will post up once he starts accepting orders again.

  8. They shipped mine super quick. I had it less than a week after ordering (depends on which one you order though).

    Mine locks up great in the open and the closed positions. Folds with ease. Great product. Will probably by more and definitely planning on getting their S12 muzzle brake.

  9. Ran across a Youtube video that showed the economy conversion and in the video the guy showed how to take the tension out of the safety lever if it was too tight. So my question is, does the dimple on the back of the safety actually serves any function or is it there to make the scratch in the paint? If the lever was adjusted to the point where the dimple didn't ride the receiver, would it hurt anything?

    Can you post a link to the video?

  10. I thought this thread was supposed to be about how awesome our folding stocks are.

    Yeah, I just ordered one a week ago and was hoping to find all the cool testimonies about my future folder. Can't wait to ditch the Kvar stock!

    I will provide testimony. I didn't buy a stock because I have an ACE stock already that I am using but I bought their folder adapter that allows you to put any AR stock on and turn it into a folder. I received it last week and I love the thing. Locks up tight in the open and the closed positions, Mechanism is smooth, and I didn't have to cut the tang off so if I want I can still put my S12 back into factory configuration. Great product. Don't think I will ever purchase another brand. After seeing the folder mechanism, I want to buy their muzzle break now. The quality is awesome.

  11. I've had great experiences with customer service at Duracoat. Balsting is great to prep the surface, never used glass beads though. If you call Lauer, Im sure they would be more than happy to answer any of your questions and make a recommendation for blast media.
