  1. I will be getting the wife a Sig P238 when I can find one she likes.

...Best price I have found was $799 out the door but she does not want a bi-tone pistol.

    Rockwell Arms (pre-orders):

$589.95 with Rosewood grips & SIGLITE Night Sights

    $554.95 sith SIGLITE Night Sights

Plus a bunch more (including two-tone) if you use their site search. It looks like they are all pre-order and none in stock ready to ship.

  2. I suspect it is used to justify a higher asking price. It is kind or like "rare" or "limited" being used to describe something that really isn't. It may be unique in that it is one of a few with a certain look. However, that look can be replicated (usually at a cheaper price). Or...when someone rates it an 8 out of 10 (what is that anyway - what is the standard?). It is just an ordinal measurement scale where a person assigns values to objects based on their ranking with respect to one another. For example, using a scale of 0-10 to indicate degree of condition, from 0 (destsroyed/damaged so badly as to be not salvagable/not usable) to 10 (pristine unused and unblemished condition). While you know that a 4 is better than a 2, there is no implication that a 4 is twice as good as a 2. Nor is the improvement from 2 to 4 necessarily the same "amount" of improvement as the improvement from 6 to 8. All we know is that there are 11 categories, with 1 being better than 0, 2 being better than 1, etc.. If it is the best priced one you have found and what you really want then go for it. But get it because you want it and not because the seller calls it "heirloom quality".

  3. At around half the MSRP of a new one (including optic) I think you should swoop on the deal. But...with the current market conditions, I would be suspicious as to why it is so steeply discounted. If you are comfortable that it wasn't stolen, used in a crime, or will be repossessed/reacquired immediately after the sale, go for it. We need more info to give you an informed decision. Yes, the price is very good for a LNIB Tavor.

  4. It looks like tragedy victims now want the government to create a tax dollar funded office to handle transferring 100% of any donations to victims and for the donations to be tax deductible.

While I have no issue with those needing financial assistance after a tragedy receiving whatever is available to them I do not think I need to fund it. Isn't that what insurance is for? How is it I become obligated for a fair-share burden for the compensation by being a law abiding, uninvolved citizen?
