And WHO is going to do a fucking thing about them???

THATS the question.... Its all good to WHINE and BITCH ... but nobody is going to make them change...

Sorry... thats just how it is... accept it... cause YOU cant do ANYTHING about it.

There are not enough gun loving American people backed politicians in the house/senate going to move to REMOVE that entity... just NEVER going to happen...

“If you love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”

    ― Samuel Adams

That quote from Samuel Adams always makes me feel like little punk. We are not deserving of the liberty we enjoy now, it is truly inherited . Many of us have served our country in the military but what kind of a country is left these days. One that doesn't give a flying fuck about our rights its a damn game to them !

If it makes you feel any better a lot of the Founders didnt always live up to their own quotes.

Wealth is a good thing, liberty goes well with prosperity because the latter serves the former but as we all should know there is a trap in wealth.

The saying goes the more you have, the more you have to lose.  Personally, I feel if personal liberty is lost, nothing else matters.  I was born free, I served my country to do my little part of keeping those freedoms and (fruitlessly) spreading them to others, and I will die on my feet free.

    http://conservative-daily.com/2013/11/12/holder-international-law-trumps-the-constitution/

Now,I'm not familiar with this news site so I'm not posting as if it's 100%. I'm looking for some feed back on this.

If this were a real story, I think it would be all over the Drudge report and other conservative news outlets.

I don't doubt that they would like to do this but anything they do on an international level has to be ratified. If not ratified, it can not be enforced. I welcome UN control as I am getting old and want to fight now before I get too tired to shoot move and communicate.

    A.  Sovereign nations are never bound by a treaty except once accepted and ratified, and only then to the extent they allow it.  The UN has no teeth to enforce the statute, and depend on the good faith of the host countries to enact and enforce them.  That's how treaties work.  Our country has specific mechanisms in place (ratification by the Senate IIRC) that prevent a President from accepting a treaty considered to be unfavorable by the majority.  Checks and balances.

    B.  Our Constitution, baring a Constitutional Convention/Convention of the States to strike it down, is bound by the 2nd Amendment and public opinion is swaying WAY back to the right on gun control.  The defnition of "infringe" can be debated politically (the textbook definition includes limiting, which gun control and this treaty sure as Hell will attempt to do) but disarming the population of this country is simply impossible.  Too many guns, and too many stockpiles of ammo in the hands of men and women completely unwilling to turn them over at the asking.  That's why our founders wrote the document the way they did, to encourage personal ownership and make it as difficult as possible for a tyrannical government to put that genie back in the bottle.

    C.  Holder, Obama, the libs, and all their ilk can piss and moan to every court in the world and preach to aliens, they will NEVER be able to accomplish what they are after.  They tipped their hand far too early when they thought they had public opinion and momentum on their side, and now the country is fully realizing what their aim was; to disarm the people.  Look at ammo shortages and record gun sales as your evidence, the people are responding to attempted infringement on their rights.  The same has been happenning with the spread of free speach across the internet as people felt their ability to speak freely was (no shit) being limited by the mainstream media.

I'm not saying we should spread this and fight it, just saying I wouldn't start burying your guns just yet.  This isn't going anywhere.

Besides, let's just assume for a moment the treaty was ratified and made law, and O and Holder gave the blue helmets free reign to come on in and try to enforce it.  Can you imagine how fast that would turn into a house by house melee?

either wise beyond your years or you've been around the block!

Maybe a little from column A and column B.  Don't get me wrong, I think it's important to keep an eye on idle politicians (aren't they all) and what pies they're sticking their fingers into so we know when to start slapping hands, but I'm not anywhere near panic mode.  WHEN SHTF, and I have no doubt it will one day, I'll be fully prepared but that day isn't today.  Too many people still think like we do, too many people ready to fight, and FAR too many recent combat vets come home from two wars that are well armed and trained to attempt a house by house disarmament of the masses which is the only way I think they will ever accomplish it.

The day they come door to door with their guns drawn, that's when I'll officially say "Okay boys and girls, time to go to work."  Till then, I'm just going to keep up my civil disobedience and keep stacking ammo and canned goods.

  4. I was going to open up my AK the other day to do a little detail polishing on the FCG to knock off rough edges, and was pretty surprised by what I found.  My Tapco G2 had VERY smooth surfaces where the hammer and FCG interface, required no work whatsoever.  Was just wondering if everyone else found that to be the case, or if I just got lucky.  I'd always wondered, and had others ask, why my trigger was so much smoother than other AK's, and I guess no I have my answer.

  5. A.  Already had the talk with my neighbor (that spends a lot of time with us) and his 13 year old.  Told them I have guns, don't mind taking them out for a range day, but that I don't want the whole town knowing what I have.

    B.  I NEVER have all the guns locked up in the safe when I'm home.  That safe exists to keep guns secured when I'm not there.  When I'm home, I've got enough arms and loaded ammo to deal with most home invasion situations.  If twelve guys kick in my door with full auto, I'll be outgunned, but short of that they're going to have a really exciting evening.

  6. I wouldn't even use the tap that comes in the bullet guide (kits). I'd find a TiN coated tap for a few dollars at the hardware store.

Lots of guys have had good luck with the kit taps and lots of them have had nightmare installs with them breaking.

I hate to cast blame towards the user/installer, but I worked as a mechanic for quite a number of years and there's a little bit of art and science to using taps.  They are VERY easy to break or screw up if you don't have a gentle touch.  Even while my friend that was lending me a hand kept telling me I didn't have to go as slow as I did, I just kept a slow methodical pace and didn't have any issues.

In either case, highly recommend a bullet guide and opening up the mag catch.  The ability to use AK mags rather than the proprietary Saiga mags (typically for 3X the price per mag) is a big money saver if you keep a proper number of mags on hand (in my case, five 30 round mags plus a 75 round drum, and I could stand a few more.)

  7. This will be my next mod soon.  Brought my x39 to the range this past weekend, burned my 75 round drum and two 30 round mags and that handguard was not comfortable to hold.  Gun wasn't rapid fired either, all aimed shots couple seconds between, but over 130 rounds through the barrel and it's obvious it needs some vents.

  8. Looks nice, philrab!

Just now getting around to this...do I need to by the shepherd's crook thing too?  I watched a conversion video and never saw this part used.

The CSS kit, at least the one I got, included a retainer plate that works just fine.  The wire crooks are a carryover from the full auto guns as in that case the retainer plate interferes with some internal part (the disconnector and it's pin I believe).  The retainer plate works great.  Also, the CSS Billet trigger guard like theone I got in my kit was well worth a few extra bucks, very beefy and nicely finished.

As I mentioned, be very careful when tapping for the bullet guide, I went in about a quarter turn at a time then backed out and blew out with shop air to get chips out.  Could probably go a little faster, but I'm exceedingly careful about detail work.  Also, if you opt to file down the mag catch to use AK mags, go a little at a time till the mags lock in and release without too much force.  Too tight and you'll have Hell getting the mags back out after shooting, magazine changes should be an easy one handed affair.  Mine was a little too tight at first, and I almost had to whack the mag catch with a hammer to get it to release after a little recoil wedged it in place.

  9. Notching/filing the bullet guide in the Saiga mags is only necessary if you have a round trunion/  My 7.62 has a flat trunion, and my stock Saiga mags didn't interfere with it.

Also note if you want to use AK mags in your Saiga, plan to file on the mag catch a bit or replace the magazine catch with an AK one, the locking lug on the Saiga mags is thinner than traditional AK mags.  Can be accomplished with some careful dremel work or a flat file (just takes longer.)

    PHILRAB,

DUDE, PATENT THAT DAMNED THING, QUICKLY!

      JESS1344

He explicitly showed the prior art he was working from. Plus there are about a dozen other similar ideas on youtube. I don't think patents are going to happen. Still a good idea if you load a lot of mags, or have arthritis or something.

Arthritis isn't an issue, I just like to tinker.  Besides, when I talked to several people in the AK community that commented Maglula didn't make an AK benchloader, I took it as a challenge.  Now that I pieced this together as low tech as it is, I'm wondering what's holding a company back....

  11. Nicely done! That would make prepping for a range trip a breeze!

I wish I'd have though of it.

If there's interest in reproducing it I'll share rough dimensions. Part of the issue is variance in magazines. This is made for Magpul Pmags, but slight differences in dimensions limit the ability to make a truly universal one. Hence the Bondo.

If you have a jigsaw and a router, some 1/2" plywood and 3/4" wood (I used MDF), and some wood glue and Bondo, this took a coupl hours to piece together.

  12. After looking at Maglula's AR benchloaders and lusting over them, I came to the conclusion I neither want to spend that much on one nor have much faith in them embracing our market.

So, yesterday, I decided to see what a redneck in a wood shop could manage.

    Inspiration.

First attempt didn't work, the radius was too tight causing the rounds to bind. Would only load 15 rounds at a time.

So, onto version 2. This loader is substantially larger, but the radius of the loading ramp is much shallower. This leads to the initial round or to going into the mag butt first, but they straighten out on the follower and it hasn't been an issue. 30 rounds at a time no stopping.

Comments are welcome. I know plenty question the usefulness of benchloaders over normal hand loading, but it was a garage project and turned out well.

  13. Used the mag sight tool. Barrel is spot on with FSB but no brake. Put the brake on and it sights to the lower right, just where I was grouping. A closer look reveals small orange lines on the inside of the brake near the end. I bet the bullet is grazing the inside and deflecting. I'll try a new brake.

You may have stated, but is the brake soldered on or threaded?
