Just what Government agency would give up a $200.00 tax on every product sold country wide.
And the associated bureaucracy to regulate and control such??
What they would want to do is make it a point of sale tax that the store collects. More money in for the ATF. They might get behind that.

Any time that the senior republican leadership gets into bed with a democratic president you know that the American people are about to get a full blown screw job (no lube of course).

Coins. Sets of quarters, dimes, halves, or dollar coins might be good.

We helped a mass murder (20+ million dead) defeat the other mass murder (6+ million dead).

Yeah then they can make a law that the only way to bring a gun to a school is if it is a smart gun. Once that gains tracation it won't be long until you can only carry a smart gun....you know for the kids sake. Don't give an inch.
I agree.....Nice try New Guy

I assume this is to meant so that NO SURPLUS CAN BE SOLD.

This is playing out just like the akins accelerator. They got the 22lr version approved and started selling them. When they made an AK one then it was all OH SNAP THATS A MACHINE GUN! The brace was a way around a problem and the government does not like being outsmarted (though its rather easy at times) so they change the rules.
-
So what would stop the customer from "buying" the tools, jigs, etc. and then selling them back to the shop when he is finished.
Then they would be machining their guns with their own tools.
Odds are the tools and jigs would need to leave the property. I don't think a CNC mill will fit in my Toyota. Mini-mill rentals might make sense though.

Don't worry. I'm sure the will accept 2 billion dollars to fix the problem.

So by the same logic if you don't shoulder a SBR is it really a rifle?

If you are bored on a Saturday or Sunday stand outside their store (on public right of way) with a sign saying T-Mobile adds fraudulent charges to customers bill.

I would find it odd to buy something I could not shoot. The money would be better spent on buying those calibers you do have. If not that you might want to buy components to make more ammo. I do wish I had bought 8mm when it was 4 cents a round so I would have an excuse to buy a mauser.
Nothing wrong with buying something if it makes you happy.

I have a rock island. Its made in the Philippines. Goes bang every time and is accurate. It is my carry gun.

Looks like a game changer! I do need to agree with everyone that getting spanked is not child abuse.

I'll take a $125 surplus Beretta 9mm! Time to watch AIM...
I agree with your diagnosis of the problem though.
They will get run through a metal shredder and sold to China for 5 cents a pound.

I am thinking of adding a scope to my converted 7.62x39. From reading the forum I see that many people recommend the AK variant POSP 4X24 scope. Is there and advantage to stepping up to the 6X42 or getting one of the 2.5-6X24 scopes for some more money. I am at the point in my life where I would rather pay a bit more to get a better optic in the end and not regret spending an extra 50 to 100 dollars. Are these optics still tough with the variable zoom (ie wont break and hold zero in a zombie apocalypse)? Thank you in advance for any input.

What scope mount and ring combination have people had success with for the saiga? I have seen the one that bolts above the dust cover but I am concerned about losing the zero when I take it apart to clean it (yes I guess I will need to every 2k or so). Also are there good rings out there for a basic 3x9 scope that will give decent results? Thanks.

I think there is a factory stock that you can try.
This is a russian part and not a compliance part.

Thanks for the replies. The videos I had seen used the older style and I wanted to make sure I had the right thing before I started the conversion. Thanks

After 2 visits from santa I have all my parts to do my conversion. I got the new tapco retaining plate instead of the old style. Has anyone used this new style? Any comments on it? Thanks

I have yet to read a real review on the Tapco mags. The thermold were thought of quite well. Also most Thermolds are now going for 20+ where the Tapcos go for 15. I would call and demand the ones you ordered.

You can put on the no mod Tapco stock (I think ACE makes one also.)

My understanding is that once you do this you need to add 3 more USA parts to stay compliant. Surefire mags supposedly have a good rep and count as 3 parts. You could also add a new hand guard:
