  1. Well, I am the proud owner of a Tromix S12, but admittedly I'm not that bright when it comes to the saiga 12. I can't for the life of me figure out how to take off the gas tube. I unscrewed the gas regulator (I have no idea what that is called that goes from 1 to 2 to change the gas setting) and cleaned that out inside as well as removed the bolt, op rod and cleaned out inside, but is there a way to take the gas tube off like you can on a regular AK? Any info would be appreciated.

remove the gas regulator, piston and bolt carrier... so you have a great big open tube.....

I use some #9, standard 12 ga patches... wire/brass brush and clean it like I do my barrel....

I guess my biggest problem is that the puck didn't just fall out when I unscrewed the gas regulator. It would move forward and backward, but wouldn't fall out the front. Is it a bad idea to push something through the other end to push it out?

  3. I just got my tromix gun complete and I'm worried about doing any damage to the back of the receiver. Anyway, I was wondering what you guys think about the buffers they sell at the saiga12 store here. I was thinking about getting a few to put in my other Ak's as well. Let me know if you think they are needed or not. Thanks for the info!

  4. you don't really have a choice, you can only buy a MD20 drum. there is an expensive door stop that only works with a highly modifed shotgun but in the end you'll pay 3 to 4 times as much and it will only work on that shotgun. I have 2 MD20 drums that work on 2 different s12's with no mods to either drums or guns

That sounds good and thanks for the info. I was actually just on that site deciding if I should get one today or wait.... By the way, where in SLC are you located? We should get together and shoot sometime. I'm just in Bluffdale.

  5. I haven't paid much attention to which is the best 20 rd drum to buy because I didn't think I needed one... well, after seeing how everyone loves them, I'd like to know which is the best drum to buy for the money and which one to stay away from. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

  6. Answer my question please.

That folding stock maded from plastic? ir it is milled aluminum

The Tromix stock is injection-molded from glass-filled polycarbonate with steel reinforcements throughout. It's an exclusive part made for us by Lage Industries. Many thousands or these stocks are in service across the globe, many in harms way.

Funny story about that. I heard about Lage Manufacturing from this forum while researching which stock to get on my Tromix S17. I was amazed to find that Lage had created a slowfire conversion for the MAC platform which seemed to address all of the major problems with MACs (longer bbl, slower rof, better foregrip/stock/sights etc.) which I had previously considered to be a near-worthless uncontrollable and inaccurate weapon. (I now realize however that the MAC is an excellent compact and affordable weapon platform that performs just fine with a little practice.) So I eventually HAD to buy myself an SWD M11/9 just so I could have a MAX-11 too. So now I've got a Tromix and a Lage both with the same stock! Some of the best money I've ever spent. Tony and Richard are some of the mosat talented guys in the business, and great to work with to boot.

This forum directly led me to getting my first SBS and F/A weapons. What a great place.

    +1, the Lage stock rocks!

This is my complete Max-11 setup.

I don't think it's plastic per se but it is a polycarbonate. I have one or two of them. They're nice, I like them a bit better than my metal Ace folder.

It is the poly, but it is very stong. I have basically the same stock on my Max-11 (m-11/nine smg) and it has held up very well. It seems to be very strong and I doubt I will ever see any problems with it in my life time.

  8. I don't have many posts here, but I've been reading up on the best of the best of what to do to my saiga-12 and of course Tromix is always at the top of the list. Well, after a year waiting and being without my gun since I sent it in back in December, I'm finally a proud owner of a beautiful Tromix Saiga-12. I went with the S02 model with the SRT trigger upgrade. This gun is really a piece of art! I love how it feels (a million times better than stock) and I can't wait to get out to try it. Anyway, a big thanks to Tony for some great work! Tromix ROCKS!

  9. I don't know what would be a must have, but when my gun went to Tony I decided to get all the things that I wondered about before because I knew I would regret it if I didn't. I went with the folding tromix stock, HK sights and SRT trigger set up. It will probably still be a while before I get it, but I know I wont regret anything on it!

  10. I ordered 2 of the AGP 10 rd mags off of the e-shop here on Saiga-12 a week ago and I haven't heard anything at all from them. They already took my money from Paypal, and I e-mailed them a few days ago with no answer. Did you guys get your mags without any type of shipping confirmation from them? If not, should I be worried and contact someone? Thanks for the info and I love this site!

I'm new here and currently I'm without my Saiga-12 as I have just sent it to Tony over at Tromix. He is still a few months out on my conversion, but he wanted it early to make it all "preban" if a ban does indeed happen after Obama takes power. Anyway, I hope to browse more on this site and learn from all of you Saiga pros!
