no shit, that was not my lucky weekend
good news is I am going up to the hernado range. it is right there at chaskawiska (spelling I know) area, I used to hunt that place alot when I was a kid. used to be a bunch of bears in there and walked up on one during a hunt. it just looked and walked away. anyway I have not shot up there in all the years they been there but got an invite so I am gonna try to make it. if I hit quicksand I will call you on my sat phone

Very nice indeed! With the last ban on high capacity magazines, I started keeping them in the gun safe and it is too crowded. I may have to consider something similiar. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, me too. after the last ban I started keepn mags in my safe. now an entire shelf is dedicated and it is a big shelf in a big safe. I straighten it out now and then but they mags end up in a big pile stuffed in as many as will fit. time for a dedicated ammo-mag locker.
I am thinking about more security all around. since I beefed up my alarm and video audio security and added IR flood lights it looks like day outside and unless the bad guys have nv they think its dark. but since the added security I feel ok storing mags and ammo in a strong locker that is secured but not as well as a safe of course.
I am done buying long guns. I have all I want. am adding somme more pistols to my collection but overall I am about complete as I wish to go. I want to get more support gear now. a new ruck for me and wifey. and a new generator and solar panels and a windmill for the house.getting off topic. I got a bum ticker so can only work on that stuff when I feel well. missed the gunshow this weekend and really wnted to go.

COBRA, JUST SAW YOU POSTED ON THE GRAPHITE ALREADY, I QOATED OFF THE FIRST PAGE. SO I GUESS EVERYONE GETS IT.Rounds are a bit more difficult to load then a USAS drumThis was the first thing that I noticed when playing with the drum. I have found an excellent solution that really makes the drum a breeze to load. I had an old tube of Official Cub Scout Axle Lube Graphite left over from building Pinewood Derby cars with my son 18 or so years ago. Of course any graphite powder would work. I rubbed the entire surface of the dummy round liberally with graphite and tried loading again. This time it was quite easy to load all 20 rounds by simply pressing down the previously loaded round with my palm (right hand) and then holding it down with my index finger (left hand) and inserting the next round (righ hand). I hope that's clear because it really made things quite pleasant.

Yes graphite would surely do exactly what you stated. if you run out of your old soap box derby stuff you can buy tubes for 3 bucks from CMMG the guys that sell the beta-c mags. that stuff when put on the surface of the dummy rounds ends up moving up the chain lubing every round inserted and will stay where it is until the mag is dumped. it does an awesome job of lubricating all rounds. just a little info so everyone knows what he did and why it is so good and I will use it on all my drums (md-20) every time I load em up.
Hope yall had a great time at the florida shoot with the drums.I gave cobra my entire sob story in a pm as to why I didnt make it after buying 200 bucks worth of shells and prepped my svd and krink and loaded up an incredible amount of ammo in general to share with everyone at the shoot as an ice breaker as I am pretty darn new here. I will just say guys I wanted to be there but my heart said NO and turned off for 2.21 seconds.BTW nazi-nurses just love to clamp the shit out of your femeral artery while you are not sedated or plowed with pain meds. maybe next time if you have another shoot. sounds like very promising feedback from the field testers on the drums. big props for mke!

I just found this thread, elite dave is one of three dealers I said have been buying up all the s-12's on gunbroker. as soon as they post he hits buy it now if it is in the 500-600 range and then just puts a grip and what sounds like crap parts for the 922. and sells them for 1000 not even a folder! another company sells them exactly like the weapons in the group buy are getting parts wise and they want 1800 and are selling the crap out of them.
IF YOU BOUGHT A WEAPON FROM HIM YOU BETTER MAKE DARN SURE THE FIRE CONTROL GROUP IS 922R SUCH AS A G2 FCG. IN CASE YOU DONT KNOW THAT IS YOUR HAMMER,TRIGGER AND DISCONNECTOR and make sure the grip is USA
BTW if you are wanting to do a conversion on your weapon it is very easy to buy a standard g2 set and modify the hammer yourself. I will post some pics to the thread were guys are converting to 922r. why pay 50 bucks for 25 dollar parts that can be altered correctly in 10 minutes with a set of calipers and proper grinding.
these guys are getting rich off others lack of know how. we need to change that now. the conversion process is monkey science. if I can do it anyone can. hell I had trouble setting my front site up on my iz108. it was an easy job that took a few words to explain and I had it. the conversion is just as easy.
GUYS,DONT PAY TO DO WHAT IS EASY AND REWARDING WORK YOU CAN DO YOURSELF. YOU WILL ALWAYS CARRY THAT PRIDE.
If you dont work on your own weapon dont waste your time in the BUGOUT BAG, BUGOUT THREADS SHTF because you are going to die if you dont try.....

Hey Guys, all kidding aside. my S-12 is a virgin,I have not shot her yet. I bought a bunch of ammo my last outing to the store. I told the clerk to just throw several boxes of everything in 12 gauge in MY EARTH FRIENDLY cloth bags and she did.
I was thinking a few hours ago about if that was wise. is their any ammo that is a no-no in that it will harm or damage my barrel or action. what about unplated and steel shot? that is my real concern. I know much more about gunsmithing rifles and handguns then shotguns, they really have been my weak link. I aim to change that but could use some info about what is safe for my barrel and could not find it in the faq's.
is their a faqs on what ammo is safe or not for our weapon?

A few 12's have showed up in the last week or so but it seems all of them have been scooped up. I assume these are from the last batch imported.
I would think the US market must be a decent money maker for the Russians? and that they are going to milk it until new Regs. ban them. Our dollar is probably not helping things though.
vspdave, You said it. I have seen 10 to 20 saiga 12's post on GB every week and I see perhaps 3 dealers consistently buy them all up using buy it now if they are 5-600 range and you go to their page and they are selling them for 1000-1800. pistol grip and g2 kit are a grand and if you get fully loaded ace folder, tromix break and any brand non oem handguards those are the 1300-1800$ weapons.
Capitalism, it works for me. if you dont want to pay your dues and learn how to do a 922r on your s-12 you pay thru the nose. just my .02 as always. I see this happen every week so I doubt its a last batch thing its a make a lot a money thing. regarding the weak dollar that will get worse.

IF YOU WANT TO MAKE ONE USE THE SPECS OFF A BULGY WOOD STOCK FOR STAMP RECEIVER AK THEY WILL BE PLENTY CLOSE ENOUGH AND THEN HAND FIT OR MAYBE YOUR STANDARD STOCK IT CAME WITH. IVE DONE IT BEFORE

Man, its here already? I dont know how to delete this double post so I would like to say lookin forward to meeting and shooting with you guys. be cuase of my bum ticker I dont get out to the outdoor ranges oh hell ANY ranges nearly as much as I should. I have a daughter to teach how to shoot and she will be coming tommorrow. she is 8 and excited to shoot her cricket .22 and her PKM haha.
I will tell you now she was brought up right and knows how to behave around weapons and firelines ranges. a friend a mine owns a real big indoor range local here called knights. momma loves to shoot too and really wants to shoot her new krink and s-12

Jake, are you doing another group buy? if you do will it be with the same hardware and price, your choice of parts seems to be nut on.
I was wondering if more folks could post picks of their stocks installed in the extended position. like cobra stated it does look like the stocks are positioned correctly and not suffering that tilt up. I saw MD ordered 5, wonder if the drum will fit with the stock closed which would rock! anyway great going Jake you did an awesome thing for the saiga guys.

It's ok David,
You just need to stick a small pin punch or something into the little hole, just behind the adjustment wheel. There is a leaf spring up inside there that locks into 4 different positions on top of the wheel. Push up and turn.
Thanks Cobra,we got it just as you stated.... hmm my wife 'read' those crappy instructions (theirs not yours) and fixed it for me using the small end of the pin punch.she inserted it in the hole and pulled up and the knob rotated. I am happy as heck I have a gun nut wife who works on weapons and helps me build motors and I am unhappy I have a wife that....haha thanks again. I still think the instructions are crap.why do they lock it. pay back? haha

ps I will be fine with doing the conversion to 922 and adding a folder,angle the rear of receiver. cut off the tang ,weld the plate for correct stock placement,everything will be cool as long as linz is around to adjust my sites haha

Hey guys, I bought a 108 version s-12 as it was all I could find and thought 475 was a good price. anyway I love the weapon as I knew I would BUT am stumped or dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to my adjustable site rail.
it has the serrated knob at the front and it will not turn in any direction.I feel spring tension on the rail so I know their is something to it but what is the deal. is it defective, am I defective give me the dope on that setup.
it's a real ego bruiser as I have built alot of AK's and that knob is getting under my skin. I dont wont to force it until I know if it does move the front bead up or down and should rotate. did I get a bad one? is it cross threaded ? hit me up with the the remedy if you could please. TIA
