cscharlie 107
Well... If you want to use a rifle the short answer would prob be no. They recently started to allow rifle for a special deer season in specified area. Other than that a .22LR rimfire can be used for small game like rabbits, squirrels... It's mostly shotgun only. Have to do more reading, but looks like might be able to hunt coyote with rifle, but I'm not sure. http://www.iowadnr.gov/wildlife/files/hunting.html Edited to add: if a DNR officer sees you walking around with an AK and you are not target practicing on a range, they will likely try to bust you for anything they can come up with. If they can't find anything, they will say not to ever let them see you there with that gun ever again! It's because the sheeple will freak out and start complaing to the gov about how Joe the DNR officer is not doing his job by letting people run around with evil assult rifles/machineguns, and Joe needs to be replaced with someone who would do things differently. There are acceptions as far as how the field officers handle it, but that is what I would expect from the majority of them. And it's not just in Iowa, but a lot of other states also. Sad but true.
