Barrel threads and other questions

Recommended Posts

I searched around a little and found someone saying that some saigas made in late 09 have threaded barrels. I was wanting to know how can I tell how old my saiga is? I'm in the middle of re-doing it, waiting on the wood and the trigger to show up. It already has the holes for the pistol grip if that makes any difference on the age. I don't want to cut it up yet if is a good chance its not. Thanks

The date is on the left side of the receiver just above the mag under the second symbol. Some threads say to take a light and look under the shroud. Dimples on the 09's are often associated with factory threading.

Says "08" right there :( I got it feb or march of 09 I wonder if there is a chance.

EDIT: If I do cut the end of it off and find no threads, is it ok to leave it like that and still shoot it?

Yes, it will be fine. If you don't have threads after cutting, thread the barrel!!!!
