kevinfreel 215
My 223 has the .591 barrel. I'm taking the front sight block off and thinking of pitting a brake on it. From what I can find the easiest way to go is a m15x1 thread. Now I see dinzag has a 74 style brake threaded to that pattern but was looking for a smaller profile brake. There are some HK 223 brakes that have this thread. I was looking at a birdcage style. Any thoughts or experience with these. I'm in ct so whatever I use has to be a brake, and pinned and welded on. BigChongus 765
Have you looked at the J-tac47? It's fairly small like the birdcage types and similar in appearance. PW supposedly recommends them over AR style brakes for the .223 as its designed to reduce the characteristic AK recoil that AR style brakes aren't designed for. AIM sells them for $55 shipped I believe. ETA: that probably wouldn't work on your barrel. Sorry. Edited August 18, 2013 by W8lifter
