J A 0 Posted April 13, 2004 Report Share Posted April 13, 2004 No, the Saiga is a modified AK-100 series rifle. The AK-100 series of rifles are the updated version of the AK-74. The rear of the bolt of AK-47/AKM rifles is larger in diameter than the AK-74/AK-100/Saiga rifles and the hole for the bolt in the bolt carrier is larger also. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
