gunfun 3,931 Posted May 5, 2015 Report They really are. It's an achievement to get a compliment on guns from a guy like you. If you feel like driving to the Palm Springs of Washington, you are welcome to give it a shot in an I-594 compliant competition. We'll come up with rules that suit us. This was a gift from a close friend. The negative stuff you see on reviews is true. The slide is heavy for the ammo, they need a polish in the chamber to improve extraction. They are a nuisance to tear down. (You are not really intended to do so for normal cleaning.) Oddly, the cheaper version, Model 422, etc. Are more reliable than the target version, since they have lower slide mass. They definitely want hotter .22 ammo, so your eley subsonic target stuff is for other guns. I really like the mag release location. They take Model 41 mags so the mags are pricey, but will always be available. But that fails to tell the story. They have an oddly vertical grip angle that feels really good when you use it. The heavy lug over the barrel stabilizes for fast and natural followups. You basically stay on target. Since the barrel is held in by a bushing from the end, a suppressor adapter is $24. And since the lug and sights are over the bore, these are the ideal suppressor host. They are one of those guns that everyone you hand it to immediately hits with, no matter how bad a shot they normally are. The gun just makes you feel like a pro. I want to eventually have a matched pair of these, with adjustable sights on the rear. Also matching baby version set. (model 2213). Suppressors obviously need to happen, along with a breifcase with passport slots, because why not... It's not my highest priority in life, but I have standing searches so I can pounce on opportunities as they arise. Quote Link to comment
