Dan I don't know what happened to the post I put up last night after getting some time in the game but it's not here so I'll repost again. I only had 1 red bar showing most of the time sometimes 2 yellow bars but did not notice any lag at all if I saw someone first they were dead in just a few rounds. Most guys were showing the same bars but a few had full green bars but it didn't seem to give them any advantage at all. KAOS reported yesterday that they know they were having server issue and they were already in the process of adding more servers. They admitted they underestimated the amount of people that would be online. So they sound as if they are really going to try and make this a top contender for FPS genre. They were also having issues with chat features and said they were going to attack that also. The graphics to me are about on par with BFBC2 but the online game play I like better than BFBC2. It does remind me alot of that game though but the drones are avery cool feature IMO. You earn battle points in each match as well as XP the battle points are used to purchase the drones, in vehicle spawns, body armor, etc. I just think the maps have me sold on this game they have a very good mix of ground fighting cover as well as good sniping spots. Sniping if you get a head shot is a one shot kill if you happen to hit an extremity it takes another shot to finish them off. You have weapons already equipped with RDS or ACOG sights. They have the SCAR-LMG with drum mags also, ACR's, M4's, M16's as well as SMG's including the Vector. The default sniper rifle is the M110 and it is plenty effective. They have some very high vantage points where you can see all the way across the map which most of them are big. It was just kind of neat seeing White Castle, and Hooters resturants in the game. Is it perfect no way not yet but I like it fairly well. The classes are preset load outs but after you achieve a certain rank you can change them up some. What I liked about the drones and armored vehicles is they are not overpowered as in you can't rule the battlefield with them and they're fairly easy to destroy. I shot a helicopter drone out of the sky with one shot from the sniper rifle. There is alot of ground cover and ladders leading to most of the roofs of the buildings. There is alot of hilly terrain as well for high ground advantage. If you happen to be on a good kill streak and the other team has someone who has ranked high enough they can have the AI battle commander send out hunters for you specifically and the higher your kill streak the more players they allocate for that mission. This also works vice versa. I went on a 7 kill streak yesterday and next thing I know i'm targeted as there prime mission. I think this game has alot of promise thought time will tell. It was just so refreshing for me to see I only had one red bar but wasn't at a disadvantage at all with it. I'm either stomping people or getting stomed myself on BOP's due to who has the lag advantage, doesn't seem to be the case with this game.

Well I got it and it's pretty cool actually the maps are quite spacious and designed with a good mix of ground fighting opportunities and sniping spots. The vehicles are pretty cool also you can deploy the drone planes and small helicopters with small missiles but they are hard to use and pretty easy to destroy so you can't rule the battlefield with them. It's nice to hit someone with just about 3-4 bullets and drop them though if burst firing at long distances the M4 works really well. I'm going to try to get the 15th prestige on Bops then probably spend most of my time on Homefront.

Will be picking up Homefront tomorrow for my birthday. So I'll report how it is with dedicated servers I'm expecting big things from it.

I like Kowloon it provides alot of high long distance shots. I use the M16 suppressed with RDS and Ghost pro, hardened pro, Marathon pro and I don't camp but find an advantageous spot kill a guy or two and then move on to another spot. I have several high kill low death games on that map. I'm getting alot better with the M16 and for the most part can use it with good results unless I come up against a group of noob tubing, AK74u users, that all run together. When that scenario comes about it's time to breakout the AUG. It all of course alot depends on whether I'm lagging or not. The AK47 is still my favorite suppressed weapon in the game but it just comes so late in the game that I have to result to other weapons for most of the game. I just can't find any love for the AK74u I just don't do that well with it. I have been trying to run around Stadium with the suppressed SPAS 12 and it also works faily well on that map as well as Summit.

Well it figures if anyone was going to have a problem it would be me. I purchased the download started installing it 10% done then WHAM PS3 FREEZE what a bunch of crap!!!! It is now trying to download again hopefully it works this time. I also pre-ordered Homefront it comes out on my birthday. Looks to be fairly well done with dedicated servers IGN is giving it some very good reviews. Hopefully catch some of you on tonight.

Any of you guys buy the new map pack yet? I am hearing there are alot of problems with them right now as in people complaining they can't use the chopper gunner on Kowloon as the PS3 freezes everytime they try it. Also guys have been getting reset to lvl 1 after the download. One guy said he was 11th prestige lvl 34 and after the download was reset all the way back to lvl 1. I might wait for a few days to see if they get it fixed. Also guys complaining they purchased the new map pack but it won't download or if it does download they can't access it and there isn't any HC yet for the new maps. Let me know if you guys have a positive experience with it.

Yeah JJ gophermods.com is where I got mine repaired for just around $70.00 bucks. They're in Minnesota but it's pretty quick turnaround. They fix it the same day they get it and ship it back the next day. If it ever fails again they fix it free you just have to pay for the shipping again. Mine also was the red flashing light. That is the overheat condition the YLOD is usually a problem with the mother board they told me but can also be from overheating. They clean it all upand reflow the solder and use Arctic Silver thermal paste in their fix and there is a curing time when you get it back. You run it for 2 hours then let it cool for 15-20 minutes then repeat for a total of 2 hundred hours of play. Superhawk said he fixed his with a ceramic paste so maybe if you watched the fix videos you could do it yourself. They can recover your game if it's stuck inside and will even offer upgraded HDD's with data transfer also. I had them put a 250gb HDD in mine but I purchased the HDD at Best Buy for $49.00 and sent it with mine they installed and did the transfer for no additional charge. Wondered where you had been good luck bro and get back on soon.

Yeah back up and running but not apparently gunning
as I can't seem to buy a kill almost every game last night was a shamble. I did manage to prestige again but man I was getting destroyed game after game avg. KDR was like .81 for last night. Some games would be positive others weren't even close to being positive. I may change my IP address back to dynamic and see if that helps. Any of you tech gurus feel free to chime in as this stuff is all foreign to me but according to the BO's website the best thing you can do tomake your game run smoother and get better results is to change to a Static IP address at portforward.com so I did this but last night was far from successful in my book. Not sure whether it was to do with something else or that I screwed things up changing the IP address. Or do you also have to change it in the internet setting on the PS3? I did not do that so maybe that might be the problem. Anyone know ? C'mon help out this old computer inept dude please.-

Well we lost our phones and high speed internet during the storm a few big branchs got too weighed down with the ice and broke off hitting our house doing some damage to the roof and taking our cable lines out also. We are now back up running and I just did the port forward .com port configuring supposedly to speed things up for BO's but from my before and after speedtest.net comparisons it didn't do a thing for me. My before was 14.11 mb/s down, 2.46 mb/s up with a 120ms ping. My after was 12.75mb/s down, 2.53 mb/s up, with 120 ms ping. I guess I'll have to see what the game acts like but I don't see a real difference other wise. I was playing the other day and these 2 guys get into the lobby and right away they start up " Lead_Poisoned , I haven't played against this MF'er before". The ohter guy says "7.62 that's not his KDR he's not even close to that" I say do you guys know what 7.62 is and of course they don't so I tell them it's 7.62mm it's a NATO round basically .308. Well they make some more smart a** remarks and I say "yeah well it never ceases to amaze me how many internet WAR HEROES we have on here that don't have any idea about the weapons they're using, you idiots". Well that seemed to shut them up and they left after I killed them multiple times each which was my entire goal for that game after their trash talking.

So how's Black Ops been? Still lagging out on occasion? Anymore updates or patches?
Like bigcec1 said it's better most of the time but still get the occasional lag. Host migrations seem to happen abit more I think but it works much better usually finds a new host instead of just dropping the game. Dropped games still happen but not nearly as much. Still get the connection interruptions also and somedays it's quite bad then others no problem at all. A little off subject Dan but did you get the job you were hoping to get?

I'm still in the hiring process, so I don't technically have the job yet. I took a test last Saturday and passed. I have to turn in a background check packet tomorrow, and then I have an oral interview on the 22nd. Turns out it's not for the Detention Officer position, like I thought before the test. It's for a Booking Officer. Ah well, it's still a county job that pays decent and will be more interesting than working in a warehouse. Lots of guys move into Detention Officer from this position, I'm told. Might do that down the road, who knows.
Well good luck bro I'll throw in a request to the big guy for ya. We are getting snow then rain then snow then freezing rain. It has shut our power off twice while trying to play tonight so I'm calling it quits. Power is back on but I don't really want to risk frying out the PS3 even though it's plugged into a surge protector. You gotta love the matchmaking of this game though I got into a match the other night and my team had 4 guys the other team had 6. Well 3 guys either got booted or quit all at the same time as I ended up alone against 6 guys I went 11-16 other players showed up towards the end of the match but I stuck it out all by myself for awhile. Had several host migrations today that didn't reconnect and also a few connection interruptions as well so not many complete games today. Hope they get these issues fixed or put out the patch for MW2 that bans all the hackers there. If that happens I'll definitely switch back to MW2 more often.

. I agree with the backup also good call dad2142dad. He can provide suppressing fire to keep the enemies heads down on objective missions. Good looking boy JJ you and your wife done good. -
Maybe you could try lightening up the screen in the game setup to maybe help see the dark corners better. I used to have a real problem with those maps also but I just learned all the hiding spots and run ghost myself on those maps so it's not so easy for someone to camp kill me. Also why I like the M16 with ACOG and suppressor for cracked as you can scope in on the dark corners and such and most of the time win the shootout. It doesn't work so well on Hanoi though as that is mostly CQB and any of the FA weapons are much better for that with suppressor. Well yesterday was a so so day for me it seemed like I had a bunch of bad lag compensation again but can't figure out why thee was half the people online yesterday so I figured another good day WRONG! I was dumping whole mags into guys extended ones at that, had guys running through COM fire, running through claymores as if they weren't there at all, and shooting me as I was well behind cover. The guys running through the claymores weren't using Flak jacket or lightweight either they were using hardline and scavenger. They were however split screening it so that may have been the problem. My mom's having a shoulder Humerus head replacement today so I'm not sure I'll even make it online today if I do it will be late.

Good games tonight bigcec1. I think we both had several games with KDR's well over 2.50. Seems to have been running much smoother tonight hope it stays that way. I'm thinking of just staying with the Enfield this time it seems to be working fairly well. How'd you like the AK74U with rapid fire and no grip? Did you run Scavenger, SOH, with it like I suggested ? I had a few games tonight with KDR over 4.50 which I thought was pretty decent for a change.

Well so much for the double XP weekend there was so many people online I got just a few complete games in today. The games I did get to complete were usually lagging like crazy though some of the time it benefitted me. Had multiple disconnects if you could get into a match that is.

Here is my last test. I figured out the closer server on my own I think. The funny thing is the test I did just seconds before this on had a DL of 16.87 and the UL was 1.33 with a ping of 91ms.

My ping varies greatly for some reason sometimes I am around 70-80 ms but I have seen it go as high as 242 ms in a recent test. I used to be around 20-40 ms consistently but that was before the laptop, the WII,the IPOd,the Nintendo DSI, and adding a second PS3 and my kids phones. I think a call to the ISP is called for to optimize my gaming as since the last update things seem to have really gotten bad for me I can't hardly get a positive KDR anymore. How do you guys set it up to test a server closer to home my default one is in Missouri and it's 657 miles away.

Well I for one liked the show quite a bit I was impressed that the one young kid I think his name was Chris kept saying "yes sir" to Will. That kind of respect is something that is usually lost in the younger generations. I know Will is his boss but he didn't say "yes boss" he said "yes sir". I would rather have these guys around me than any yuppie when the SHTF scenarios come about. I would love to work for a guy like Will and be in the company of the people they have surrounded themselves with. Good show and good luck with your continued success to Red Jacket Firearms.

how many things do you have running off that router ? the more stuff you have on it the worse it's Gona be like If some ones on the comp and you one the ps3 would be making it worse
The PC is wired to the modem, but my wifes laptop is wireless as is my daughters Nintendo DSI, and her IPOD, and the PS3. Maybe I should call my ISP and ask why my ping is now so much longer than it was before. I also think someone maybe trying to access my router here in the neighborhood as my PC keeps detecting a new Xbox and asks if I want to grant access. I of course hit No.

Any of you computer savvy guys know how to lower my ping? Remember I'm the old guy and need as much help as I can get. I used to have around 20-40ms but every time I do a test lately it's at least 100 and has gone up to 174ms. I did have some bad games tonight but had more than a few really good games also. Had a blast with you guys tonight it was real funny when I told Cade to equip his Flak jacket and tube class then those buttwipes lit out fast. Then hearing Superhawks wife reaming him one and I said " now there's a Southern Belle for ya" and then he ratted me out and then Cade called her a redneck that was some funny stuff right there I don't care who you are.

Where do i find this PS3 update? I had the 1.06 version download but didn't see anything about a PS3 update. Like I said maybe it was just me sucking i up real bad but I was averaging around .91 kdr when i have been around 1.04 for quite some time. You all know I never claimed to be real good at these games but I like to think I can hold my own most of the time but I had one particular death where I flashbanged a guy and he had a spas12 he was shooting the ground and got a kill on me with one shot I mean c'mon his barrel was pointing at the ground and he was blinded and still killed me with one shot. I know if you hit L1 most of the time when you're blinded you stand a good chance of being the killer instead of the killee but his freaking shotgun was pointing at the ground off to his right side I came in from the left. I checked my connection speed and ping and my download speed was 7.58 megabits/s and the upload was 2.75 megabits/s with a ping of 100 ms and this was to a server 657 miles away. Maybe I should get a CAT6 ethernet cable and hook it directly to my cable modem I just didn't want to have a 25' cable running through my room.

Anybody else having problems since the 1.06 patch came out with feeling like you're about a half second behind your opponent all the time? I played some today and had a very hard time getting a positive KDR. Seems as though I was always slow on the trigger in the Kill cams but was firing first in my view but it was every game not just once in awhile like before. I dunno maybe it's just me sucking it up but even the Combat training was doing the same thing to me. I think I'm going to stop reviving 2nd chancers as they are just really annoying. I get killed by them quite a bit as when I come across them it's usually a couple of them and it's out in the open. Hopefully if we all stop reviving them they'll quit using it. I hate getting killed because I'm being a nice guy and reviving some dink who's using it on my team. I hate to be a jerk about it and the jury is still out whether I'll actually stop reviving them or not but I'm leaning towards not. I did notice that all the bad games I had were with just one red bar or 2 yellow bars but even after switching lobbies it stayed that way.

Yeah definitely rent it first as you might not like it as you didn't care for BFBC2 at all. It does remind me of that game but like I said I like the online play much better on Homefront. I have been reading on Homefronts website (defendyourhomefront.com) and seems like most people like it but most say it does have it's issues but the big difference I see is KAOS already posted a sticky on how they realized they messed up with not enough server capacity and they said new servers were being brought online as soon as possible. Like I said it's definitely not perfect as you see the enemies name in red even if they are hiding behind bushes maybe something they address or maybe they can't but the maps are so big there are plenty of opportunities to flank the enemy. I guess I just mainly like the dedicated servers as I didn't notice any lag at all even with my 1 red bar so I wasn't at a disadvantage when coming up against an enemy and the calber of the weapon seems to make more difference in face to face battle. bigcec and I tried lobbying up last night but it wouldn't allow it to happen this is one of the biggest gripes from everyone so far and the chat wasn't happening either but supposedly KAOS is looking into it already for a patch.
