My response to the trite sentiment above.
There was another one of him somewhere looking pretty proud of an AK with CAA furniture on it.
That look like the new AK-12 which the Russian army is looking at adopting which uses features copied from the AR-15 variants the US military is using which made ergonomic inprovements to a great rifle including the Picatinny rail and a more ergonomic safety.
When Mikhail Kalashnikov visited the US he met with Bill Ruger, Eugene Stoner and he is shown posing with an AR while Stoner had an AK and with the late Uzi Gal designer of the Uzi SMG.
I wouldn't have any beef at all carrying an M-14 or FAL... AKs are just so affordable and such a good machine. FALs have me VERY interested though... UGLY and HEAVY as fuck though...
The FN-FAL failed miserably in the 1967 and 1973 Middle East wars where the Israeli soldiers threw away their FALs and Uzis for AKs. The FAL did not do well in the desert environment and the Uzi lacked the range due to the 9mm round.

I'm surprised that vigilante groups have not formed and addressed out of control issues since it is beyond what the police can or will do. It could happen yet if the mob attacks continue with any degree of frequency. Maybe the urban area could use Swat Teams to control crowds and riots rather than busting down doors in the middle of the night of pot dealers but that is another thread. That's what I'd do if I was mayor. And if that was not sufficient I would call on the Governor to dispatch National Guard troops to help contain and detain rioters. At least their unifrorms work better than the US Army's ACU which makes the soldiers stand out in most environments.

A good brake or compensator goes a long way on the x39, cant really tell much difference between it with an AK-74 style and the 223 with the old bird cage.
Were it me I would go with what is already owned, if one already has x39 ammo and mags I would go with the x39.
Lot of expense involved in adding another caliber and it saves money to consolidate.
I ditched everything but one shotty cal, two rifle cals, and two pistol cals (22LR excluded). Really helped keep expenses down and made ammo inventory so much easier.
I agree that too many calibers get costly. Another problem is mistaking the 5.45x39 for a .556 round which can be a real pain to get the round unstuck from the barrel. Recoil for the three rifle calibers is similar and I don't have a problem with it and a good muzzle brake can reduce recoil.

The real reason Remington moved out was New York's hostile governor Andrew Cuomo (whose name rhymes with homo) who said gun owners and conservatives are not welcome in 'his' state. If Remington's workers were unionized then they cut their own throats by voting for anti gun DemocRAT assholes who want to ban the product they manufacture.
Forced union membership is legalized extortion for union bosses and DemocRATs who are the same assholes. Anyone remember how Eastern Airlines was destroyed by their unions? The number of companies forced to shutter their doors because of unions who wanted too much when the companies were hurting is immense. I remember the Teamsters strike against Detroit Newspapers in 1995 where their goons lined up on one side and police were on the other. It was scary to drive thru that war zone and the people who worked had to be bused in under heavy police protection. They brought thugs from other cities who destroyed company equipment and trucks during the Labor Day weekend.
One union is putting up signs in Ohio claiming that the Workplace Freedom act is like communism. How outrageous, that a communist union is saying that. I'll have to get a picture of the billboard to post to show how dishonest these MFs really are. They are running scared now that Indiana and even Michigan which was a heavy union state passed a right to work law. I hope that Ohio becomes a right to work state but with Governor John 'spineless' Kasich, I won't hold my breath for it to happen.

It's a shame that some cops are real dickheads and it doesn't take many to give the good cops a bad name. It also depends which union the cops belong to. The Teamsters are organizing many police departments which is not a good thing.

I haven't had any problems with Pro Mags and they worked reliably for me. I didn't subject them to military standard testing but I did have problems with the TAPCO AK mags in the Saiga not working properly.

I'm glad that Duke Energy cut away a lot of branches to prevent power outages in the Cincinnati area. Who knows how many outages the prevented.
When I lived in Michigan the power always went out in many areas because of fallen branches.
The last few winters have been mild and this year it was a normal winter which people forgot how to cope with cold weather and snowfall. My biggest headache was sheet ice on my driveway which made getting out extremely difficult because I have to go uphill to get out.

The Russians are developing a new AK called the AK-12 which features a Picatinny rail and other features such as a folding collapsible stock and better ergonomics while keeping the reliability that Kalashnikov's rifle is famous for. The sites have photos and describe the features.

The more inportant thing to consider about microstamping is that revolvers are technically unable to leave behind stamped brass. Get manufacturers to abandon semi auto pistol sales to CA residents, and then legislate against "untraceable" revolver sales, and CA could very easily effectively ban all handgun sales in the state.
When I lived there the NRA didn't do shit to stop the 'assault weapon' ban. Their silence was deafening.

I don't know enough abuot New York State's Nazi anti gun laws but the only thing I would say is to stay the fuck out of New York Shitty and Boston. They ignore the federal laws which protect gun owners and arrest them. The poor gun owners will be out of thousands of dollars in legal fees and may end up in prison for posession of a firearm which means they won't be able to own guns for the rest of their lives.
It's ironic that the Americn Revolution started in the Boston area and now they and New York Shitty have the worst Nazi style laws banning firearms.

Don't use the South Afrrican ammo cans. They have holes in the bottom and when water got into my basement, it destroyed a lot of .22s and centerfire rounds. The steel cased Russian ammo was rusted thru and all I can salvage are the bullets. Use US and British mil surp ammo cans and you'll do fine.
