  1. Hi Thanks all for your help with my pin problem. For them what's interested I've figured out what was going wrong. I had the retainer plate in place, and when I put in the trigger group pin, the pin just pushed on the retainer (instead of snapping into the hole for it). So, since the plate wasn't going into the groove on the pin, there really wasn't anything holding on to the pin. Thus my problem. So, with the retainer in place I edged out the safety lever a bit, lifted the retainer, put in the trigger pin, lowered the retainer, and futzed around with safety a bit until it
  2. Lemme take a look when I get home tonight. I'm pretty sure I put the retainer plate in correctly (there only seemed to be one way it would go) but I'll take a look and let you know. Thanks.
  3. I have one of these in place. Pin still slides pretty easily http://www.blackjackbuffers.com/images/SCRlever.jpg
  4. I don't think so.... what where are they?
  5. I just finished doing the conversion on my 7.62x39, which included installing a Tapco trigger group. Upon putting it all together, I found that the original pin that held the trigger in place would come out with very little pressure, and I felt really leery about it all holding together under fire. I don't know if I made the holes larger somehow, or damaged the pin.... at any rate, it comes out VERY easily. So.... I took a Chicago post screw, pushed it through the Tapco assembly (it -just- squeezes through the short steel tube) and secured it on the other end. It feels pretty soli
  6. So.... my 7.62x39 just has finally made it into my trembling hands, and now it's time to get to work. Can I get opinions on my shopping list? - Tapco SAW grip (does this come with the nut that I'll need?) - ACE folding stock (should I go with the internal mount? or the one that attaches to the tang?) (and can the rifle be fired when the stock is folded?) - Tapco single hook FCG By my math that should have me 922R compliant... but will it remain so if I add non-US full-cap magazines? Thanks! (and by the way - which forum is best to post questions like this: the gen

  8. Well, somewhere in the universe is a Saiga on its way to me that will - once I've determined that it functions OK - be headed to the operating table for conversion. I like the Saiga hand guard OK enough, but think I might want to go with wood on front - can that be done? Are there US manufacturers that make the parts? (I'm kind of 922r paranoid) Thanks!
  9. I've got a 7.62x39 Saiga on order with plans to convert it. Tapco triggers seem to come in two flavors, single or double hook. What's the difference? Is one preferable? Thanks! f
  10. Howdy - I' m new here. I don't yet have a Saiga, but want to get one and do the conversion. Can anyone direct me to a dealer in Oregon? Thanks! f
