  1. Hey Ben, have no problems with you personally, bought a S12 back in the day from Tom Cole when you were still affiliated with him.

Anyway, I have a canted optics rail on one of my AK's, it needs to be repositioned level so I can accurately sight in any red dot I use with it. Right now it's higher in the front than the back, throwing the zero off. I need a smith that has worked on AK's before, knows what the hell he is doing, and is willing to do a re-rivet job and whatever else it takes to fix it.

Hoping to get it fixed before next spring though....

  2. Long overdue update to this thread. If you have AK issues stay the fuck away from David McDonald at Adventure Outdoors. I know  more about AK gunsmithing than that fucker does. If it ain't a AR or a 1911 he fucking sneers at you, does a hack job on the work, and then hands you back your AK problem to get it fixed elsewhere.

Also, stay the fuck away from the Deer Creek Gun shop in Marietta. If it ain't a muzzle loader those inbred rubes running that shop just scratch their heads and hand your weapon back to you like they just looked at a fucking plasma rifle in the 40 watt range....016.gif

BTW - still seeking a competent AK gunsmith in the N. Atlanta area if anybody know of one. Bill Hallyar was recommended to me, anyone know of his work?

  3. Glad to see a realist started this thread! I was expecting to find another hagiography of what a wonderful paragon of virtue and a idealized God like saint he was. The worst mistake the South African Govt. ever made was not to execute that fucking terrorist outright. Instead they allowed the Communist black revolutionaries to make him into a martyr, one that the bleeding heart Marxists around the world lionized.

Under his rule any chance for reconciliation between the races was no better than Zimbabwe has been under Robert Mugabe. Maybe Mandela will reserve a special seat in hell on the torture rack next to him for Mugabe, so those fuckers can scream in agony for all eternity together...

  4. Hey Arik, where is that at? Looks to pretty to be near Philly! LOL!

Would also consider the PTR-32, but those seem to be as common right now as dinosaur eggs.

Not exactly true.  There is one available for purchase off gunbroker right now for just over $1.2K which comes with 10 appropriate Bulgarian magazines.  Here's the sales link:  http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=378637918  I saw another one on sale there just two days ago, but apparently it's now gone.

Anyway, I can't say enough good things regarding the PTR-32 that I own; most accurate 7.62x39mm rifle I've ever fired.  It's only negative is that its heavy.

Gary - Is it finicky about the mags you use in it?

  5. Meh, in that list besides the AK I own a FAL and an Mauser 98k. Best is subjective, depending on time, place, and condition. If I had nothing else I would use the Mauser, but we all know it isn't well suited for 21st century conflicts...

Back to possible purchase talk, if .308 wasn't so damn expensive I would buy the PTR GI G3 clone. I see it has dropped all the way back down to it's pre-panic price of $899. During the scare they jacked the price up to over a grand for that rifle...

  6. I really wanted to like the Sig, but even after reading over at Warriortalk Forums where they pimp it mightily, there just seems to be too much BS that goes along with owning one. None of the BUIS that people run on them are specifically designed for this rifle and are just stopgaps, Sig apparently doesn't support it all that well, and I've even read where the picatinny rail on one dudes rifle was canted so bad he had to return it.

Looks like Arsenal is the way to go, at least we get the AK 12 or IMI releases the Ace 32 in semi auto:https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CCwQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.israel-weapon.com%2Ffiles%2Fbrochure_2012%2FIWI_ACE_762x39_AR.pdf&ei=HReTUrqgMNDNkQf6lIHICg&usg=AFQjCNG5lLaYihXMrhzNnt1Mb7DUIuL40g&sig2=xnN9A9ZblH2odvFvozvIJA

  7. I think it is indeed wise if not healthy to question 95% of the propaganda and agitprop thrown at us these days. Like that chick in the video says, I'm  not one of those who immediately thinks someone is paranoid, delusional, or that "it can't happen here".

I also believe the Govt. will stoop to ANY low to further their agenda. That INCLUDES the murder of their own citizenry to do so. After all, they have repeatedly done it abroad through false flag terrorist attacks and political murder (see Operation Gladio on Wiki) and any moral restrictions that might have existed to prevent them from doing it here are long gone.

You have to actually do some in depth study and reading on these subjects. My university degree is in history, and if you are a serious historian you learn quickly the only way to even get a kernel of truth is to read and evaluate all you can from BOTH sides. The truth is always somewhere in the middle.

It's not as easy as reading a few links and then thinking something is either plausible or bat shit crazy...

  8. Captain, I hear you, That Arsenal does look nice.

Stryker, I agree 100% on the iron sight situation with the Sig. It's the stupidest damn thing I've ever seen to only offer the 556R with that damn Chinese red dot they ship with it. You can't even find the Sig factory sights they used to offer as a aftermarket purchase anymore. WTF is up with that?

The PTR32 used to be fairly common a couple of years ago, can't understand why the supply of those has dried up...

  9. I am considering adding a new shooting iron to the collection. Main requirements are that it be 7.62x39 in caliber and use standard AK mags.Currently considering the SIG 556R and the  ARSENAL SLR107FR-31.

I REALLY like the looks of the SIG and the Gen 2 model apparently is very reliable. The cons are you have to spend another $200 and up to add a pair of irons sights to this rifle which will push the total up into the $1300 range. I will not run a rifle that doesn't have irons of some type on it. Also I've heard the upper and lower needs a Zurich wedge to get it fit tight, that's another $20 part.

The ARSENAL SLR107FR-31 is a good looking rifle and has the polymer folding AK stock already installed. I know what to expect with an AK, and this rifle can be had for right under a Grand. Cons? I've heard the QC can be a little spotty when dealing with Arsenal.

Would also consider the PTR -32, but those seem to be as common right now as dinosaur eggs.

What do you folks think? Anyone own one of these? Would you recommend it? If so why?

  10. The REAL terrorists can be found under the Capitol dome and inside The white House....

If people understood they are many times more likely to be killed by LEO than any terrorist perhaps they would have an inkling of the true agenda.

Folks as far as .gov is concerned you are terrorist. You have heard it how many times now?

When was the last time you actually saw a real "terrorist" ?

    Every election cycle.

    THIS!!!!!!
