That ok. most with ar's have found they cant run steal case with out adding oil to the rounds. ar's will not run russian ammo well. should leave pleanty for us. I think it is funny AR's are selling for as little as 609. but should run the more expensive brass ammo. Most imports are 600 plus and can run the cheap ammo.

I've run plenty of Ruskie ammo through my PSA AR and it chewed it up and spit it out like a sewing machine with all of it! It's a gun and it doesn't know the different between steel and brass ;-)

Same here...My two ARs eat whatever you feed them without complaining a bit!

  2. Yep, We Grew Up Knowing That They Could Kill And Respecting Human Life. I Would Just About Bet That We All StillHave Our First. Daddy Did A Rebuild On My First And I Refinished The Stock. I Had Finally Worn Down The Firing Pin And They Had Given It To Me For My Twelfth Birthday/ Christmas. He Enjoyed Doing It. I Imagine As He Was Rebuilding It, He Thought About All The Hunts That We Had Together.

Sim, He Will Always Cherished This Rifle. Many Will Come And Go Through His Hands But This Is his First. I Think That This Is One Of Biggest Things That Bonds Fathers And Sons.

  3. VR6,

GET YOU A SPRAY CAN OF CITRISTRIP AT WALMARTS PAINT DEPT, HOSE THAT STOCK DOWN WITH A THICK COAT, AND LET IT "COOK" FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS, AT LEAST.

ALSO COMES IN A JUG, TO APPLY WITH A BRUSH, IF YOU DON'T WANT THE OVERSPRAY.

THEN TAKE AN M-16 TOOTH BRUSH AND GO TO TOWN ON IT.

WHEN DONE, WIPE OFF THE EXCESS WITH A GOOD GRADE OF PAPER TOWEL (VIVA), FOLLOWED WITH A WIPE DOWN WITH KLEEN-STRIP GREEN ODORLESS MINERAL SPIRITS AND MORE PAPER TOWELS. Jess, You've Got This Down Pat!

I GIVE A FINAL THOROUGH WIPE DOWN WITH 91% ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL.

THAT SHOULD LEAVE YOUR STOCK CLEAN, DRY, AND FINISH-FREE.

RUB THE STOCK DOWN GOOD WITH 0000 STEEL WOOL TO TAKE OFF THE NOW-RAISED "FUR".

RUB IT UNTIL THE WOOD IS SHINY, AND YOU CANNOT FEEL THE FUR.

I'VE BEEN USING OLD ENGLISH LEMON OIL, AND GETTING GOOD RESULTS.

PAINT IT DOWN WITH A LIGHT COAT, LET IT SIT AND SOAK IT IN, WHEN THE WOOD LOOKS DRY, PAINT IT DOWN LIGHTLY AGAIN, LET THAT SOAK IN, AND THAT SHOULD DO IT.

IF YOU'VE APPLIED TOO MUCH AND AFTER A HALF-DAY OR SO, THERE'S STILL OIL ON THE SURFACE, OR IF YOU CAN GRIP THE STOCK AND LEAVE OILY FINGERPRINTS BEHIND, TAKE A HAIR DRIER ON HIGH, OR A HEAT GUN, AND HEAT THE STOCK, SO AS TO RAISE THE EXCESS OIL OUT OF IT, AND WIPE OFF THE EXCESS WITH THE PAPER TOWELS, CHANGING THE PAPER TOWELS OFTEN.

  4. Lol, Background, NotGiving Them Prompts!

No, I Had Wrapped The Other Stock System Parts Up In Bags And Put Them All In A Box. The Background Wasn't Conducive For Pics, So I Improvised And Used The Bags For A Backdrop. Too Nasty Outside For Pics Yesterday.

They Aren't Business members On Here But I Really Love The Bullpup Stock That I Have And Will Be Buying More As Money Allows. They MakeThem For About Everything.

I Just Ran A Mag Of Buckshot And Slugs Through The Shotty After Thousands Of Field Loads. REMEMBER TO CHANGE YOUR GAS SETTINGS!LOL

  5. No, After The Last Game, Went Back OutTo The Shop, Found The Last Screw That I Had Dropped, And Finished Putting It Back To Original.

Before I Changed It Back, I Ha Toyed With The Idea Of Selling The Bullpup Stock, But Now, There's No Way. They Are Just Too Much Fun!! Lol

Will Try Ut Out After Hunting Season, When It's Cold As All Get Out And Not As Much To do

  6. Lol, It Won't Stay This Way, Took These Pics When I Satisfied My Curiosity About What It Would Look Like With That Much Barrel Sporting The Barrel Shroud. The Sights Are The Rear Magpul From The Set. I Had Removed The Front Section Of The CBRS Bullpup.

Got Me To Thinkin, May Throw A Reflex On It Before I Finish Stripping It Down And Trying It Out!

I Really Don't Need To Throw Standard Stock Set On It, I Have Several Pumps And Semi Autos To Hunt With, But Damn, The Saiga Just Shoots So Sweet! Wished I Had The Money To Build Several In Different Configurations!

  7. Theres an old saying that goes "If youre going to open a gun store and planning on making a living, better sell something besides guns."

This is from a few folks that have gone down this road. Sell anything that you can make a profit on because the profit margin on firearms and ammo will fluctuate wildly and being able to get inventory will bounce around too. With that said, good luck!!

Same here on the 300 blk ammo and an upper in same for a decent price! ;)

  8. Think I would have pulled the trigger on the S308s, havent seen one for a decent price in while.

If I Would Have Had The Extra Money, I Would Have Jumped On Both Of Them!

I Have A Long Barreled One But Would Love To Have A 16" And Would Have Sit On The Other For Investment. Unfortunately, Play Money Is Severely Low At This Point. Just Glad I Could Swing The Takedown.

  9. Coronet, With Saiga Brand Being ReplaceD By Kalashnikov Concern,There Probably Won't Be Any More Saiga Brand Guns Imported. If There Are Any More Sent Over, It Won't Be Many. Kinda Like Coke Being Renamed.

I don't think I need to go to the gun shows anymore.

It was last Friday night and I was just back from buying my Ruger 22/45 lite at Bass Pro. I was getting it ready to shoot for the first time at the range when there was a knock at the door.

It was two of my closest friends and what they had to tell me put Me on the floor.

They had a friend who left FL, who was in his 90's for NY and did not want to take his ammo or guns with him.

So they were told to give the ammo and guns to someone who deserved it. It floored me that it was I who that person was.

    So I was given 3800 round of 9mm and 800 rounds of 40 ACP and a 9mm Sigma and a Sig p250 in 9mm.

I have the spring kit coming for the Sigma trigger ,looks like none of the pistols have be used much.

They would not take any money for the man, none. I am humbled

  10. I like your slander on the WASRs. I have one, no mag slop comparable to or any different to my other AKs that have "dimples". It is the only one "AK" I modernized with a receiver extension and Magpul stock, non-standard pistol grip, and a quad rail and it shoots as good as or better than my other AKs. It has no FSB cant either btw. FSB cant can be found on other rifles than a WASR for your information.

No slander, these were canted badly! Saw them with my own eyes, and being a certified gunsmith, I do recognize canted. I am an AK lover, prefer them over any other type of semi auto ,mid range rifle. I have built and have repaired just about every variant that there is.Just stating my facts friend, not picking a fight.

The BX 25s were running 35-45 bucks today, and most centerfire pistol rounds were decently priced. 223 and x39 a bit pricy, but better than six months ago. Did see a really nice Lewis gun and a couple of 1919's set up on display by some really cool old Korean war vets. Also some pretty good displays of WW1 and WW2 uniforms and a few nice artillery pieces. All in all, an interesting show.

  11. Well, the "show" finally made it back to town, hadn't planned on buying anything, just wanted to see what the state of affairs was locally. Me and cousin Steve ( my gun show buddy) made our way through the backside of the metro area of Greenville to the arena. On our way, two older gentlemen caught us at a light and wanted to know if we could tell them how to get to the convention center. I asked them if they were going to the gun show and they said yes, so I told them to follow us. Well, we had us a convoy, small as it was. :)

Thirty minutes after it opened, there were hundreds of folks in line waiting to get in. If this was any sign, it would be a profitable show.

    There were S-12's, ( $750-1,000) and two 16" 308's ( $585-650). Also a few Arsenals running $1150 and up.

There were a decent number of WASR10'S at outrageous prices also. Never thought I would see those slant sighted things go for $700 and up!

Amazing thing was that there were PLENTY of AR's of every make, model and caliber at pre freak out prices! To look at them, you wouldn't think that the last five years had taken place! Wished that I had more play money, I would have picked up the 308's and at least one of the S-12's for investing since they will be no more.

I didn't walk away empty handed, I had been looking for a Roger 10-22 takedown since they came out with no success, and Steve pointed one out that was priced $295. If you have been following them, you know I snatched it up quickly!

Ammo was plentiful and surprisingly, there weren't,long lines at those tables, although they were doing a pretty brisk business. Prices were pretty decent except for the .22 ammo. Remington bulk packs of 525 were going for $50. Needless to say, I didn't buy any.

As I was making my way through the extremely thick crowds, I overheard one yuppie looking fellow that might have been in his forties, asking the one on the other end of the phone if it were alright if he got that AR that he was looking at....well, another one joins our ranks!

I am getting older... half way through we had to find an area that wasn't crowded and try to stretch our backs and hips. Cannot make it through the whole thing anymore. I told Steve that we needed to rent a Jazzy the next show. Hey, maybe get a little trailer and pull behind it to haul away the spoils of our day.

    Unclejake Out.

  12. Folks. Lets leave the psychological exams to the experts . The shit is getting pretty deep around here. On second thought we seem to have a wide range of experts floating around here from nuclear physicists to navy seal snipers . Frankly if someone here doesn't cure cancer I will be shocked.

Funny you should mention that...I am currently working on an elixor that will cure dandruff, ease the pain of sunburns and mosquito bites and help with bad breath,,,,OH WAIT...that would be Listerine! Oh crap..back to the drawing board.eyes_droped.gif
