  1. Are you sure that's not a Japanese Arisaka? (or however it's spelled?). unsure.png

Looks like the chrysanthemum is even removed on it (like was agreed to by General Patton to appease the Japanese after WWII).

It's a hella strong (as in good quality) action, BTW! 032.gif

Ummmmm?  I believe you meant General Douglas MacArthur.

He was wayyyy to chummy with the Japanese after the surrender.

    Read the reviews. Very entertaining!

    Now, I want one!

I love this bit from the FAQ's....

The Tony Soprano signature series bat...for the aspiring Gambino Bambino!

Question: im an italian gangster, and i was just wondering if the surface of this bat catches finger prints.

Answer: The surface does have some grooves that are not deep, but a good enough tech could probably retrieve prints on some parts. High heat would be suggested to destroy the bat if worried about evidence.

  3. Just found my 1976 CVA 45 cal muzzle loader that was a gift kit from my fatherinlaw.

When I hunted with it I only used lead balls.

Anyone here have one this old and shoots mini balls in it.

I cannot remember the twist rate. Looking for the spec's on line.

It's in great shape just need a little talc.

    It's a 1:48"

You can shoot minies, but they are hard to find pre-cast.  Lyman once made a .45 minie mould, but it is long out of production. You can also find R.E.A.L. (Rifling Engraved At :Loading) bullets for .45 too.  PRB, however, is hard to beat.

  4. I died a little inside until I read this part:

"The nation's 206,000 federal prisoners still can buy packaged pork rinds and pre-cooked bacon in the prison commissary."

It's not chops or ribs or Boston Butt or Brunswick Stew!,  But!, it's not a total ban...  They got to keep the single-shots and revolvers of the pork world!

Glad someone is looking out for our felons....

  5. Liberals wiill always insist that their "gun-free zones" don't work because the zones aren't broad enough and that criminals obtain their weapons from outside these zones....  IE: NYC blames Virginia and Pennsylvania for it's "gun problem"....  Chicago blames surrounding areas for their "gun problem".   D.C. Blames Virginia and Tennessee for it's "gun problem"...  California blames the rest of the U.S. for it's "gun problem"....

There is no appeasement for these asholes unless there is total and universal gun control (gun bans) that satisfies them....

    Fuck em'!

  6. Here is one article:

    http://www.gunnews.com/massive-new-gun-taxes-proposed/

Having a hard time finding the one where Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, Barney Frank and Charles Rangle were proposing the tax as high as I cited above...so.... lets just call that part hearsay for now.  Rangle was also proposing a federal .05 cent per round tax on ammo.  I have heard to topic mentioned again recently (since the Oregon shooting) on talk radio, but have not seen anything published on it...yet.

I will keep looking, but the issue keeps coming up every few years since 1986 (when no new transferable machine guns passed).

  7. Cars are regulated and taxed and TITLED at the state level... As well as taxed (NC)....

Interested to see the "justification" to tax or regulate ownership at the national level.... that doesn't run afoul of Amendment #2....

"Common sense" legislation, as it pertains to this political climate is a moot point....

Up until 1964, Americans could order guns through the mail.   In 1968, FFL's became LAW for non person to person transfers..  In 1986, no new machineguns could be transferred to civilians.. even though the registered machinegun has a better safety record than the tricycle....

For the Socialists (democrats) - it's all about getting the guns...

"Legitimate sporting purpos"e is just a ruse......

But, I am preaching to the choir......

    Hello

This is where Class III gets a little dodgy......

    Guido in Texas

They are already talking about upping the transfer tax from $200 to over $3000 on most NFA and from $5 on AOW's to $500.

Who's "they" and where'd you hear this?

It's the first I've heard any mention.

The ATFE is arguing that the tax is dated and needs to be updated to adjust for inflation....  In 1933, $200 was twice the cost of a NFA weapon....
