I am a gunsmith and new to the Saiga-12. I know the legality of shortening a barrel nut what affect does a shorter barrel have on the gas operating system. Do they function better or worse? Thanks for the info. I am working on my first conversion and this site is awesome!

Ok guys I'm new to the forum and just received my new Saiga-12 with the 19" barrel. It came with the 5 round factory mag and also a surefire 12 rounder. i also bought 4 promags off of gunbroker. Why doesn't anyone make a mag that will fit right? Is it the small differences in each gun or is it just the mag makers haven't got it right yet. Pretty scary to spend 50 bucks a mag and then have to chop them up to make them fit. Any ways happy with the gun and going to be converting it soon. gots to get the cash together for the conversion. I'm a noob to the saiga shotgun. I Just got mine and want to convert it. There are so many different views and parts,some one help me out with a parts list and one vendor that I can get it from, I found a auction on gun broker for a pistol grip conversion but it says it uses the original shear and shear sleeve. I know some one is going to say use the search feature but its confusing with how many different ones there are. Maybe you guys can come up with a list and make it a sticky. Thank you in advanced.

This has probably be covered before but on pistol grip conversions, why doesn't anyone use the Saiga M4 Collapsible Intrafuse Stock with pistol grip -TAPCO. Just cerious. It just looks like an easy conversion, thank you in advance.
