Can't agree more on the take a good variety cause if it doesn't like the light stuff you can still have fun and fix the issues another time.Hopefully it likes it all! You'll have fun!Walmart has the 100 rd cheap stuff id get remington or federal for the lightest stuff stay away from the winchester 100 rd packs ,they also have remington 15 round 00 buckshot and slugger value packs.

Is the detent still keeping it locked when one full turn out I've never tried if it doesn't the gas pushing through the threads may eventually cause the adjuster to back out but the loss of gas to the piston would probably keep it from cycling properly but there are people that would just run stronger loads cause they don't know better .The ones with more adjustments have more cuts/ground on them to allow more or less gas to the piston face

I have studied those posts and pics alot . I have experiance porting and polishing high performance heads and other custom/performance parts so I wanted to do it knowing full well the consequences . You'd just have more gas going away from the piston its going to take the path of least resistance and less gas will push against the piston. You may end up launching the adjuster if it half ass works a few times first.

I usually gun lube or a lil wheel bearing grease the rails and oil contact points. No lube or oil on bolt face,and none on the gas piston or areas exposed to gas .just about everything else gets a light coat wiped off with a clean rag so there is a very light coat. I do the barrel like anyone else.
