  1. I did my own testing in a Thompson Center factory .223 G2 rifle. I got 3 shot 3 inch groups, and by the 8th round extraction was affected by built up crud in the chamber. I wonder why Saigas and other AKs have no issue with the wolf poly rounds or laquer coated rounds if the chambers are within spec when compared to non-AK .223 weapons?
  2. Pretty sure Wolf sold/sells 00 Buck in a steel case, but it's only 2.75" if you can live with that. I've been looking EVERYWHERE for a 3" 00 buck steel case load, or even 3" hulls to load my own. I've found jack shit. And now that I think about it, I thought I found some Barnaul steel hulled stuff, but it too was 2.75" Edit: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=151277 - Yep. Well, admittedly they're sold out, but they do make it, and you can find it on gunbroker or something I'm sure. At 1050 fps, that 00 buck load is perfect. It is not likely to over penetrate, and t

  4. Since these are only legal in converted guns, these are likely to create alot of 922r violations.
  5. AK forum.net Quote PvtPyle posts "No 5.45...... Just 5.56, 7.62 and 308. Oh yeah, and a few 12ga's as well." Also Quote PvtPyle posts "And now the Russians are in the process (litterally) of signing a new importer. We should have word on dates and prices soon, we have already ordered 1500 of them. " "The importer is not the important part as they will only be importing. The important part is who will be distributing them. And even more importantly, if they are stuck buyingmthem in the thumbhole stock configuration, what are we going to do about fixing that? RA's sto
  6. I barely remember some kind of bear ammo buckshot at the gun shows a few years ago. Does anyone remember if there was 12 gauge steel cased 00 buckshot sold anywhere in 2004? Silver Bear? Brown bear? Golden Bear? Any Bear? Barnaul?
  7. How much will the Vepr 12s retail for? Vepr 7.62x39 retail for?
  8. CW also believes that 16 inch shotgun barrels are ok on non-NFA weapons. I wish I could have recorded that conversation it was priceless.
  9. On mythbusters, .50 BMG fmj rounds were really tore up when they hit water at 3000 fps. He might post a picture of the slug if there is any piece/pieces to be found.
  10. First, use a 610 grain hollowpoint Dixie hard slug. Work up a load to 2800 fps. Aim and squeeze the trigger. http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showth...7214&page=5
  11. Thats odd that the disconnector or carrier is not counted on that letter. http://www.e-gunparts.com/products.asp?chr...20FIELD&MC= The nova has a disconnector, a sear, and a carrier. http://www.e-gunparts.com/products.asp?chr...50zNOVA&MC=
  12. My site bead came off at Tromix and the hole is all the way through to be able to see the threads of the regulator. The metal is too thin to weld the hole shut. Tony said not to worry about it. The gun has functioned properly without any problems. I took my bead off and cant get it back in. The lower part of the threaded stud wont engage the threads. Im thinking about leaving it off.

The HIVIZ BirdBuster will fit for sure. It has 4 interchangeable sleeves. My vent rib is 3/8th inch. One of the larger sleeves fit my vent rib.
  14. Does the screwed in site bead ( on the models without a vent rib ) prevent gases from exiting the gas tube area? I looked closely at what is under the bead, and it would appear to me that the gas regulator cylinder is pressed up tightly enough against the lower opening of the bead hole.
  15. Leave it to the weirdos to mess up a good topic Any new info? Will they be doing business with Saiga? Anyone know the company of manfacture? Any plans for US sales? http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showth...t=197214&page=5
  16. Cool. where do we get some? C- [/quote Its being developed by a someone in Greece. Its not commercially available.
  17. Brass slug from Greece . It is .629 and uses sabot to take it up to .729 12ga size.
  18. A friend of mine has a farm hog he is likely to slaughter soon. I may attach a steel plate to it and shoot the plate with a .308. Im betting the hog stays standing after the impact. The owner of the body armor company thats in that video has been shot hundreds of times in demonstrations since the 1980's. I don't think hes faking his demo video. Now I need to find a steel plate that can withstand a .308 impact.
  19. Wow, where did you get that scope mount in the lower picture? Have you seen them sold online? Can you take the dust cover and bolt out with it still attached to the receiver?
  20. I couldn't throw a 40 lb watermelon at someone ( my same weight ) hard enough to knock them down, without shifting my body weight enough to have to counter me falling over. Try throwing any weight object hard enough to knock someone your own weight size over. Im sure you cant do it while keeping your body perfectly vertical without lateral movement. I sure can throw a 40 lb watermelon and knock someone my same weight over, but I will make my upper body shift because of the force. The fact you feel recoil in a gun proves this theory. Heres something to think about too. The for
