  1. ...PA, yes...the avatar image is almost too small to see it but I like the look on her face...she went from stoned oblivion to kicking ass with a Bren gun. I like Guy Richie's work, this movie, Snatch and Revolver. I wish he'd made more like these or maybe he will who knows? I think he pulls off what Quentin Tarantino just tries to...

Yeah, I tend to agree with ya. Tarantino hasn't made a flick I really like since Pulp Fiction. Since then, he's been snorting too much coke and wayyyy too much of his own smug.

Snatch is one of my favorites. I don't know that I've seen Revolver yet. I'll have to rectify that soon.

  2. I only have 3 URs.... but I have 5 Dracos wink.png

    Bastard. tongue.png

    Yes, I'm a bit envious. biggrin.png

On the bright side, I'll bet your ride is a lot nicer than mine. My wife gets the new car and I get guns wink.png I'm happy that way though...

Probably not, but I'll not bore you with my financial woes, as the shit's my fault if I really look at it objectively. You're your own boss, so it doesn't directly apply to ya, but to the rest of the board: do not get fired in this economy. It's worse than you think, thanks Barry. <_<

Anyway, I should be starting a new gig in a week or two, in a new town. This one should be pretty profitable, so I'm looking forward to having a lot more play money than I have lately.

Just don't get interested in the really old-school ones, (they're terrible, you don't want em), and I'll still have somethin cool in my little collection that you don't. wink.png

/end threadjack; back to your reguarly scheduled SLR 107-F appreciation. :D

  3. Few will disagree with me that this is the most important part of that manual:

    From page 16:

    "3.4 CARBINE RE-ASSEMBLY

Re-assembly of the carbine is the reverse of disassembly.

WARNING: WHEN INSERTING THE BOLT SUPPORT WITH THE BOLT INTO THE RECEIVER IT IS NECESSARY TO MATCH THE BOLT PROTRUSIONS WITH THE RECEIVER SLOTS.

SINK THE HAMMER FLUSH, PRESS THE BOLT LEFT-HAND PROTRUSION WITH A FINGER AND MOVE
    THE BOLT SUPPORT FORWARDS."

The translation is terrible, like the rest of the manual, but that does work and it's relatively easy.

Pay paticular attention to the part in bold. The S-308 doesn't go back together quite like other Saigas, (or AKs), do. ;)

  4. Sure, why not? :D

Honestly man, I can't give you any specific guidance with your project. The only optic I ever use on my 7.62x39s is a PK-23 red dot, (no magnification). How far out are you trying to stretch that MAK90?

I've got a POSP I don't really use, (reticle won't illuminate and I'm not sure how to fix it), and an older Weaver 3-9x scope that came with the 30-06 I inherited, but the majority of the shooting I do is with good ol iron sights.

  5. Look at the circle 10 design. Make it American and drop the price a few dollars and you'd have a money maker. DO NOT mold the floor plate to the magazine body.

    +10

If you wanted to emulate Russian mags, that'd work too.

There's no need to re-invent the wheel here. The Bulgarians and Russians have got it right. A US-made version, (with the correct steel reinforcements), would be extremely popular.

Don't emulate US Palm. An AK mag with a non-removable floor-plate is just plain bad design, and probably the worst new AK-related product I've seen in awhile.

  6. ...I didn't bother installing the hand grip. I got big paws and it was kinda 'dainty'. Besides, I really like the Tapco grip with the finger grooves ... that grip is about 20% thicker and gives me a much more positive handle on shooting...

Are you sure that's a Tapco pg? The pic isn't the best, but that looks more like a MD Molot grip, (which is superior), to me.

  7. I've got a very lightly-used AK Slide-Fire stock, (~250 rnds fired with it mounted), I'd like to sell. It works great, is in perfect shape, (no scratches or dings etc), and is a ridiculous amount of fun.

In case you're unfamiliar with em, here's a vid of one in operation:

I'm asking $260 shipped, (where legal), payment via USPS MO or discrete PP, (if you're a potential buyer; PM me for details before payment).

I will also trade this for mil-spec 7.62x39 mags and/or GT, (or similar non-corrosive), 7.62x39 ammo. PM me to work out a specific deal.

    Thanks for your interest. smile.png

  8. I would hang onto the MAK. You seem hesitant and that is never a good sign going into a trade.

Besides, SGL's are steadily rolling in. Chinese AKM's stopped being imported years ago.

Yes, no more Chicoms are being imported, but then again, they're inferior rifles. wink.png

jbanzai, if I were you; I'd take the trade, assuming the 31 has a low rnd count and is in great shape. I think it'd be easier to trade a SGL31 for a 21 than it'd be to trade your MAK-90 for one. The Russian rifles, regardless of caliber, are worth more, and appeal to a greater audience than a ban-style Chicom gun.

    ymmv.

  9. Use a good soft slip on but-pad. Not as hard as a Mosin, but noticeably harder than X-39.

What about an Enidine buffer? Someone on here has been singing their praises, I forgot who.

I've got an Enidine Shot Shock that I use on my S-308. It works quite well, making the recoil a little lighter than a solid-stocked x39. I chose to tame the recoil, (which isn't bad to begin with, but the less the better for longer-range shooting), this way so I could put a dedicated FH on the barrel rather than a brake.

  10. All I can tell ya is that none of my Saiga/AK rear sight leaves have that "sping loaded wiggle". They are solid and do not move when pushed laterally like that. I checked 2 Saiga 7.62x39s, an Arsenal SA M-7 Classic, and a Saiga .308. No wiggle.

I'd try another one if I were you. Get yourself a strong, fairly narrow wooden dowel and you should be able to exert enough force on yours to remove it without scarring it up.
