  1. redsoldier has it right, thanks for typing out a thorough reply. As he has stated, going that far costs a lot and really brings it up to the next level. I don't have Russian magazines or bayonet either, they are both Bulgarian. I've read this forum for months and getting my rifle to be close to ones like yours was my goal. Speaking of price, as someone asked about it earlier. When I bought my Saiga, I wasn't sure how far I'd take it. When I did, I thought maybe I should have bought a SGL-20 to start with instead, for cost savings reasons. However it would have ended up being pretty close a
  2. The main thing that I didn't do to it was change out the gas block to one with the lug for the grenade launcher. I kept the stock one. I'm glad the finish turned out the way it did too The rifle was completely stripped and parkerized and should prove to be very durable. Thanks for the kind words.
  3. A few months ago I asked about converting a Saiga into an AK-103 clone. I researched everything that I needed to do and was all ready to do the conversion myself. I saw many examples of great looking rifles on this forum from people of all experience levels and felt I would be able to accomplish it as well. However, it was quickly pointed out that to be a true clone I needed a folding stock. I thought about it for awhile and decided that I really wanted that feature. I'm not a machinist/welder, so I contacted Keith at TAC-47 Industries to do the conversion for me. All I can say is I'm
  4. I agree. Most of the folding stocks are skeleton style, where can I find one that looks like the kvar buttstock? There is one of a different style on k-vars site that is out of stock, are there other options? From what I've read, to install a folding stock I need to modify the trunnion or get a kit that comes with a new one? I guess I could go with the bolt on lower hand guard retainer, but it looks more AR like and I prefer the press on style. I could live with either though, especially if its going to cost quite a bit to get it done. For the threaded barrel issue, I live in Texas.
  5. First off, I'd like to say what a great site this is. I've watched multiple videos and read countless threads on the Saiga rifle and their conversions. My goal is to convert one into an AK-103 clone. This is what I plan on purchasing shortly if I have all the parts right. It seems like everything I need is available from Dinzag. Here is what I plan on buying: K-VAR Nato Black 223 x39 4 piece stock set Pistol Grip Nut and Screw Tapco Fire Control Group Nylon Hole Plugs (6) Bullet Guide Kit Round Trunnion AK74 Front Sight Block Press-On Lower Handguard Retainer Gas Tube M24x1.5 '74 B
