  1. I’d like to put a 2-point sling mounted a buttstock point and receiver point. I can drill and mount a QR bolt in the Tromix folding stock I have but is there a way to add a QR mount to the left side of the receiver of a S-12? It seems somebody might have come up with a do-dad that mounts on the left side rail mount on the receiver.

  2. I've tried using a dovetail-to-Piccatinny rail adaptor from CSS to mount an optic on a S-12, but the dovetail or adaptor seem out of whack, as the optic is canted to the left some 10-15 degrees.

I have an '08 model with no rib and a fixed front site. I understand the Ultimak rail requires the FS be ground off, a hole drilled and tapped. I'm handy with a Dremel and drill and wondering if I might just be able to do this myself w/o too much trouble, or if I really need a gunsmith. I don't mind paying a gunsmith but do mind waiting weeks to get the job done.

  3. I picked up a TAPCO G2 FCG fro dinzagarms years ago and finally got to putting it in. I looked at various videos on disassembly/assembly of S12 innards but none look like mine.

    1. My Safety Lever does not come out before all other FCG parts as it will not rotate to vertical. It hits against the transfer yoke legs and the sear/disconnector unit. I had to take the latter part out by pulling out both axis pins (hammer and sear/disconnector), lifting out the hammer and sear/disconnector and then rotating the Safety Lever.

    2. I had no Shepard's Hook. The axis pins were held in by a spring that wrapped around the rrivetted pin that holds the transfer yoke, then went over the rear axis pin and under the front axis pin.

    3. Both the tigger and transfer yoke have these rivetted pins permanently attached, so there was no removing them to put in a new FCG.

    4. I pulled the long spring that held the axis pins in out by grabbing an end and yanking it out to unwind it from the riveted pin. I tried to put in a retaining plate, but since my Safety Lever has to go in first, before the FCG, it can't be installed. Once you put the Safety Lever in, through the hole in the retaining plate, it won't fit. I put in the Shepard's Hook that came with the dinzag TAPCO G2 FCG (which was a bitch, as y'all know).

How do I mod/replace the Safety Lever so it comes out first?

How do I get the rivetted pins out, put in the dinzag TAPCO G2 FCG and then replace the removed pins?

Is my Saiga 12 an unusual variant?

  4. I'm sure someone can direct me to what I can't seem to find:

Videos/pictorials on disasembly and assembly of a Saiga-12 FCG. I'm just swapping in USA parts (Dinzag) and a FCG Retaining Plate but haven't done it before.

    Thanks!

  5. So, thinking that there were 12g models 018 & 019 to chose between, I found and bought a Saiga-12 that is listed on the Certificate as a Version oc-021, dated Nov 14, 2008. (it looks like an "oc" in handwritten Cyrillic script)

The markings on the reciever include:

No model numer found on the shotgun itself.

R-Side: Russian American Armory Company Scottsburg IN

    Saiga-12 12 x 76 18,3

L-Side: Saiga-12 (in Cyrilic), SN, Made in Russia by Izhmash, various stamped symbols (including 08 year of certification) and the Izhmash logo

Sights are a notched blade rear and post with bead front. Barrel 19" no choke, but threaded barrel muzzle with an external screw on endpiece.

Do I have a stock Model 019 or is there an 021 I haven't noticed?

  6. Yeap your right i mis read that. Its not quite drop in for keeping the sporter stock on it...

why would you want to keep the sporter stock?

I'd actually be using a bolt-on Folder/PG stock (check the link in my 1st post), which leaves the trigger unchanged. But I need to swap out some imported parts for US.

  7. Where it says "...for a conversion where the trigger assembly is being moved forward", does that mean it is NOT a drop in repleacement in an existing sporter model Saiga-12?

Its based on the tapco G2 trigger group and tromix does all the modifications for you so that YES it will be drop in.

I think NB misread your question.

No, It is not a drop in for sporter model. You need to move the trigger forward for it to be a drop in

Mississippi Auto Arms is selling a conversion kit Folding Stock w/PG that doesn't require receiver mods.

So I'm simply looking to replace the FCG with US Parts. Are there any options available?

  8. A description of the Tromix Fire Control Group reads:

"Tromix Fire Control Group - Tromix modified Tapco Trigger assembly installation in every Saiga (except the Saiga-410 & the Saiga 100 Series) for a conversion where the trigger assembly is being moved forward. This kit includes the Tromix disconnecter spring and Tromix Shepherds crook (neither parts come with standard Tapco Trigger Group). Hammer has also been modified by Tromix. Made in US. Counts as 3 U.S. Sec 922R compliant parts."

Where it says "...for a conversion where the trigger assembly is being moved forward", does that mean it is NOT a drop in repleacement in an existing sporter model Saiga-12?
