  1. I love how he starts off relatively calm, and ends up getting progressivly crazier. Best line;

    "you've put us out of work, stolen our pensions, so we found a new job. It's called chewin' chewin' gun and kickin' butt, and guess what? I'm about on my last piece of chewin' gun..."

    Also, he's in a garage. I'm just imagining neighbors walking by slowly listening to the sound of a man screaming behind a thin garage door XD

  2. Alright, being the new guy I'll give you guys a tidbit about myself.

    Salmonking is actually a name derived years ago from the game, Halo. In creating a character, I chose to adorn him with pink/'Salmon' colored armor to: 1) to emasculate my friends, and 2) not blend in in the slightest. Because I possess an ego, the word 'king' came to mind. Voila; the name Salmonking was born. It had a ring to it, so it's been used for pretty much every online site I've created since.

    Now that a dorky light has been cast upon me, I've got to nominate Bounce for the craziest name origin that I've read so far.

  3. Thanks for all the help guys. I think I'll just have to accept that I'll be buying both in due time, lol.

    A few other approaches though;

    Concerning ammo, I've found a couple different sites online that sell bulk 308 ammo for relatively cheap (wolf being one of them, a low grain-age practice ammo being the other http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=502766&kwtid=294379) Has anyone had experience with this lower grained ammo? It says the effective range is out to 320 yards and I'd be going around 50-100, though you have to self cycle.

    Concerning the S-12, DOXtheOX brought up another question in my mind- the Remmington 870. I know the main appeal of the Saiga is that it's fully automatic, but is the reliability on par with pump action shotguns? Also, a friend who has had an... encounter with a home invader informed me the main appeal of the pump actions is that the sound of it loading that first round; he said it caused the intruder to basically crap his pants- and rightly so! I know the 'sound issue' is not that big of a deal, especially with what you gain from high-capacity mags, but it's a subject of curiosity for me.

    Thank you everyone for your feedback, and for breaking the news to me that I'm going to be hopelessly addicted :lolol:

  4. Hello all,

    I'm new to the forum, and plan to be purchasing my first rifle soon. The dilemma? I don't know which model of saiga to go with. Whatever model I do go with will be fully converted will according to 922 ® requirements, but I have a question about the purpose and Philosophy of Use, or POU, between the rifle and shotgun Saigas.

    I intend to use the rifle/shotgun at ranges, and possibly while hunting; however, I am generally concerned about which model (rifle or shotgun) would be most effective in a "without rule of law" situation for home and possibly neighborhood defense/patrol.

    As it is, I've labeled my choice down to either a Saiga .308, or the Saiga 12, but am curious as to which would work 'best' in the event of absence in social order.

    I know it's a little more than paranoid, but I like to look at the whole picture before buying a new gun. Since I can't buy both, I'd love to hear your opinions and reasoning before my purchase to gain a little more insight.

    Thanks!
