    I'd feel bad about doing that, seeing how the saiga treats the ejected brass - and I'd definitely want to save Federal Gold Medal Match brass for reloading. That's another project I've yet to tackle: port buffer.

    Another thing I'd suggest to improve your groups with the saiga is the use of a good competition sling. Adjusted right, when you get into position, it's hard *not* to shoot good.

     

    Back in the mid eighties I had an HK91 that came with an ejection port buffer. I wonder if one of those couldn't be adapted for the S-308?

    I am trying to get another bolt action 308, or 762 X39 if available , I have seen the RAA website and talked to the gentlemen on the number listed and they are of little help. When I mentioned the 762 X 39 bolt action they acted if it they had never heard of such a thing, thought it is listed on their site as a BARS 4-1 with three caliber options...

     

    Anyone seen or fired either one of these or know where I can get one ? any help would be appreciated.

     

    Those rifles are made by Izhmash but are not "Saigas". Here is a .308 listed on Gunbroker and one look at the price tells me why we don't see more of them. Why pay that for an import when you can buy a Remy 700 in .338 RUM for the same money?

    lol...I'm listening... :angel:

     

    I'm planning on making a different one for each Saiga if possible but focusing on the 12 and 20 first. The only difference between the two will be one of the parts in the kit.

     

    One more question. I have not converted my 20 GA and don't plan to. Will that make a difference?

    maybe ile go the gay rout and go with the 16" barrell w/ dummy supressor i know its gay fake can but it still has the krink look but a 16" barell again i hate washington state

     

    Man do I feel your pain. I have a couple S-12s that should have significantly shorter barrels than they do. Plus a quasi-AK-104 that has a big old ugly fake can on it... that shouldn't be fake.

    Some help from you guys. I am working on some research. Anyone have a write up on the history of the Saiga Shotguns? I am looking for some info regarding design, why they were made up, etc. Stuff along the lines of what is available for the AK-47. Also any info on military or police units using them, and an approximate idea of how many are in country at present.

    it was broad daylight, he stated he was prepared to kill the two, and didnt see any weapon, etc etc.

     

    the guy is a pussy. he shoulda if he wanted to stop anything, been ready to attempt to take the guys down while coming out of the house, and THEN when they came at him, shot them dead then. instead he basically sounds like he just went a gunnin for a crook that wasnt causing a deadly threat. now, if he had attempted to make a citizen's arrest (which he was legitimately allowed to do), and something happened, then he could have dropped them both dead then and there. instead it sounds to me like he gave no warning, and just told the guys "yer dead" and started shooting.

     

    BUT - screw both of those illegal immigrants. now an american goes to prison because someone thinks its ok for them to illegally come into this country and rob us all blind, in more ways than one. he shoulda shot them as they were exiting the window, and not while on the phone.

     

    Yeah right. He did effect a citizen's arrest. Maybe not to your liking for whatever reason. If the lady of the house happened to come across those two in while they were ransacking her house what do you suppose her fate would have been? One thing is for sure, those two will never pose a threat to anyone's life or property ever again. Moral of the story: Don't invade people's homes and they and/or their neighbors won't shoot your stupid ass. Joe Horn did the right thing. The police officer that witnessed the shooting even said that one of them ran closer to Horn's position when was shot, 7-10 feet. What's that 21 foot rule all about again? We don't know the precise timing and positioning of the perps and the tape sounded to me like he said "Move and you're dead" and there was a delay before the first shot was fired. I don 't think there's anything brave about opening yourself up to make it more fair for the criminals. In fact I think that's sheer idiocy. I think Joe Horn stopped felons who were commiting a crime. "Nothing to see here, move along now" should be the order of the day for law enforcement on this matter.
