Ok, I got a second hand s308 16" gun with a texas weapon systems gen2 dog leg rail unit already installed. I'm wanting to move the rail to another AK and go back to a standard dustcover on this s308.
What I'm trying to figure out is if the s308 uses the same or different recoil spring than other saigas. I know about the little metal "buffer" on the s308 models, but I'm wondering about the spring itself. Reason being, If i can just get a replacement recoil assembly for the s308, i'll just move the one from this gun with the dog leg rail as a unit, and put a replacement one in the s308.
