  1. Robert has been working on this prototype for over a year and has done multiple CNC runs to get it the way he wants it.  All of the parts are built from scratch with his design but it operates like a Saiga, although the parts are not interchangeable.  From our conversations, at this point he is pretty sure things are going to work properly and is confident that the gun will run.

  2. Robert Wright of R&R Targets has been working on a complete US made 12 ga. shotgun, loosely based on the Saiga 12, for the last 2 years.  The first prototype should be completed and ready to fire in the next 2 weeks.  Below is a photo of the receiver and barrel assembled and also shows the bolt and carrier.  Controls will be AR style and the receiver will accept any AR trigger. Pricing is not yet set.  I should have pictures and video after the first test firing.

I'm truly shocked and horrified that such a kind, peace-loving young immigrant could be suspected of such things!

He must have fallen in with the wrong crowd, right?  rolleyes.gif

They just caught the SOB, shot him at least once, too, he was being hauled away in an ambulance.  032.gif

They obviously didn't shoot him enough if he was going in an ambulance instead of a meat wagon.

  4. Are the bolts profiled for cycling low brass shots shells or is the profile the same as a stock saiga 12 bolt? I will definatly buy one if it is profiled for low brass and to have the original as an extra.

    Dave

The R&R bolts were designed to work with low brass shells, thats all we shoot in competition.  They will also work with high brass loads.

  5. Thought I would try out the new forms and send in an SBR form 1 without the LEO sign off. Felt kind of good to just drop off the form instead of begging for permission. I'm going to slap a 10.5" barrel on one of my existing guns that I normally shoot my suppressor on to make it about 16" with the suppressor. Looks like I'm becoming a stamp collector!

It is a 50 yard gun but will I will run in from 10 to 25 yards( going to be fun)

I have a pistol ha ha so never could see building and AR style pistol .

My favorite 9mm is my sig 250 with the small grip awesome gun.

Don't sell the 9mm Carbine short. I'm shooting Lawman 147s out of a 14.5" barrel zeroed at 50 yards. They only drop 7.5" at 100 yards and still carry almost 250 ft-lb of energy. Easy to hit 100 yard targets, just put the dot on top and pull the trigger.

I know that it will shoot farther than 50 but this is where I am going to start (who Knows).

I reload so the options are endless, but that's what it is all about.

Work Is really pressing me I need this build

Good luck with your build, they're a ton of fun to shoot!

  9. He's a SEAL, he needs a Submariner but that might be a bit much at around $5,000. Since the OP asked about gifts for his Boss's son I would think something in the $200-$300 range would be suitable. It would be difficult to pick some type of equipment that will not be provided by the Govt. so I  would find a small personal item that is unique or custom made.

  10. Took 2 weeks to get the LEO sign off, they said they had never seen the form before.  An older woman in the front office asked me what the purpose of a silencer was and I told her "it makes the gun quieter when you shoot it".  As of July 13th there is no longer an LEO sign off requirement but I didn't want to wait 2 more months and I'm too cheap to pay for a Trust.

  11. I'm finishing my 21st year teaching at an inner city high school.  Most of the time Engineering or Aviation classes.  Also did a few years (1 full time and 8 part time) at a Community College.  By far the Community College was more pleasant and interesting.  The students were motivated and interested in the subject.  High school can be hit or miss in terms of students and staff.  If you enjoy teaching it is a great career.  If you don't get along well with students and aren't flexible it can be torture.  Like many jobs it is what you make it.

  12. From the ATF website:

    7. May I lawfully ship a firearm directly to an out-of-State licensee, or must I have a licensee in my State ship it to him? May the licensee return the firearm to me, even if the shipment is across State lines?

Any person may ship firearms directly to a licensee in any State, with no requirement for another licensee to ship the firearm. However, handguns are not mailable through the United States Postal Service and must be shipped via common or contract carrier.(18 U.S.C. §§ 1715). Firearms shipped to FFLs for repair or any other lawful purpose may be returned to the person from whom received without transferring the firearm through an FFL in the recipient’s State of residence. FFLs may also return a replacement firearm of the same kind and type to the person from whom received. 18 U.S.C. § 922(a)(2)(A)
