  2. My Krink is a R Guns Kit, with a David Riggs custom Receiver, and a East German Barrel, set up and re profiled by loner42, Chuck Haynes (both great guys) which I bought way before anyone started making Barrels for these kits. Bluejack produces the correct Barrels for thes kits. Right now the market is flooded with Yugo Krink kits if you want to go with a 7.62x39 or even a 5.56. Your Choice. Back when I got this kit I had no choice this was it, ammo is cheap and in abundance.

  3. I love having this option. I left both bolt hold open on, on my 7.62, and my S12 SBS. As long as there is no slop between the Hammer and the Receiver wall you should not have a problem with the lever jamming up your gun. I am customizing my bolt hold open lever right now for my custom bullpup build.

  4. Sumsky, I know what you mean about compact, etc. But think of the bullpup as a shouldered pistol rather than a carbine. Assume your comfertable two hand pistol stance. Where your trigger hand is, is where you want it on your bullpup. The difference is that instead of pushing out as with a pistol, you're pulling in against the stock on your shoulder. I find that the farther out my pg, the more natural the pulling back. The closer in, the less control and I tend to cramp up more because I'm using more muscle to pull back AND hold up/balance the weapon.

For drum use, a great deal depends on the profile of the grip. The wider, the better for reaching around the drum. Can you fit a drum in your x39? If you can, but your grip feels too small to be comfortable, try wrapping it in tape until you get a more comfortable reach around. If you don't have a drum, cut a round plastic tub of comparable size to fit on a mag. You could also do this with out pg attach to you fore end to see what length of pull fits you best and still allows drum use.

I did not even think about the shouldered pistol thing. I will try that. I have no clue if a Drum will fit in my 7.62x39, When I was doing all the measurements I did it with a 30 round Mag, I dont own a 7.62 drum.

  5. Ya, I believe so. But for me, it then rules out useing the minidrum. There's probably an inch or so that the trigger can go back to towards the reciever. But at some point you will limit your pistol grip options. The KVar pg has slot in the bottom of the grip to act as a guide(for x39 mags). Some of the guys on here have rounded of the rear bottom of their pgs to make mag changes easier.

Part of my goal is to make a bullpup kit that is minidrum friendly, unfortunately, arm length may well be an issue for some. I'm 6'1" and with a wide profile grip, I'm good to go. But not the scrawny little AK standard pg.

This is not looking good for me if it rules out the mini drum. I have to figure out something. Anything over the 15 is going to be too far of a reach and not too comfortable. One of the reason I like my 7.62x39 pup is because everything is so compact and close to my body, and I can get more accurate follow up shots, the muzzle is a lot more controllable, compared to when it had a buttstock. Thanks for the info.

  6. Mavidal,

You mentioned you use to drive from dade to sunrise and university. I'm from that area. Thats a long ride, but after reading your posts and sumsky's it appears you guys got alot more experience than I do.I would like to get up with you guys so I can learn a few things.

Anyway here is a pic of my Updated Conversion. Hope you like it and if you have any opinions about what you see, please let me know.

    Thanks

Nice set up. Is that a UltiMAK Gas Tube Rail ?

  7. Hey Mike, thanks for chiming in with all the info, much appreciated. My friend that lives in Homestead have been telling me about this place for a while, but I just cant seem to get the time to drive down from West Palm Beach. I also want rapid fire test my custom 7.62x39 Pup I built, probably bring my 12 inch S12 also for the hell of it.

I can imagine that would have to be a hell of a drive. Heck, it's over 30 miles from my house and I'm at the end of I95. Let me know when you decide to come down and I'll go playing with you. I have a customer that has a ton of guns and wants to take his Uzi (full auto) there along with another that has a sten that wants to shoot it also.

    Mike

Mike, sounds good. I will definately let you know when I plan to come down. I live in West Palm and commute to work in Hollywood, Pembroke Road exit off 95 to be exact and its a daily round trip of 147 miles. Gets very tedious after a while, and I am not driving a German or Italian Sports Car either. What I am thinking about doing is staying at a Hotel for two days shoot for two days then head back up north or head down to the Keys. I have to plan this out with the family, got 5 weeks vacation holding.

Yow, that is a hell of a commute, man I feel for you. I did south dade to Sunrise and university for 5 years and wanted to scream all the time with the idiot drivers.

    Mike

(idiot drivers) and Florida go hand in hand, thats so funny that you said that. I see a acident on 95 every day..

  9. Sumsky, how did you get the bullpup kit??? That looks like a OEM hanguard that has been modified. I also like the Short barrel shotgun. I'm assuming you got the Tax Stamp.

Bullpup Kit custom made by me. Saiga 12 SBS modified by me, with help from a Cobra Customs, and JT Engineering. Yes I do have a stamp, a few stamps to be exact. I like to collect NFA Stamps.

  11. Does the grip get in the way when you rock in a 30rd mag?

No the Grip does not get in the way, 30 round mags work great. The gun looks more balanced or proportioned with the stock Saiga Mag, in my eyes. I think in my old thread all the pics I posted were with a Chinese 30 round magazine.

  12. I learned this when I was five, guys.

what I learned when I was ten, however, was to treat OTHER PEOPLE'S firearms as if they were loaded, and kept an eyeball in the back of my head for inappropriate muzzle or trigger control, and avoided the situation by gaining control over said muzzle failure. I still practice it to this day, and you DONT want ME ganking your muzzle away from someone's face.....at the different shoots i have been to or partly hosted, or been a part of, I notice this inadequate control, and am not often quiet about it when i see it/control it.

#4's is the agreed upon civilian load indoors, by the different LEOs that have been to the forum over the years.

Sir, the racking of any large chambered weapon is unmistakable even to the untrained in the dark. your damn right the saiga just put that pump action racking thing to the dirt. The noise it makes is unmistakeable. The reliability is legendary.

    seperate from the above post....question

how would an SBS SBR or AOW carry here? NFA items are not pistols, right? you mean to tell me that it is legal to load up my AOW or SBS without having a permit, loaded, in my truck and just leave one in there? the logic is flawed. unless i missed "NFA item exception" rule no. b52....???

Id never do it, but you are telling me that that is legal? which DA supports this? biggrin.png

Ben, come on now. You know we cant leave NFA weapons in a car trunk unattended, they have to be securely locked in a safe. They can only be transported by the legal owner to or from the range or for repair. wearefla does not own NFA item so he doesn not know the NFA laws, he is just quoting general firearms laws from the 790 statutes which does not pertain to NFA. I own a few NFA weapons. Unfair question, when you already know the answer being a NFA owner. its good to have people on here that are dedicated and do know the Firearms laws.Play nice.

  13. Ok, for all you guys that live West Palm Beach south thats tired of the Commie Ranges. Here is a Range that allows you to practice drawing from your Holster, you can shoot Tannerite, and even rapid fire, range goes out to a 100 yards. Thanks to Kiddy Kane and my friend for the info.

    address is 31810 sw 228 av homestead,fl 33030 (305) 394-2151 Henry LaDue

  14. Makes me rethink being lefthanded. Beautiful.

Ok, here is what you do since you are left handed. Cut off the charging handle on the right side, have the charging handle set up on the left side. Thats the beauty of my Pup design, its not encased in Plastic so you can still dress this thing up and modify as you please.

That's great and all, but hot brass in the face is a deal breaker.horror.gif

Next time I shoot this thing I am going to shoot it left handed just for the hell of it. I am not worried about the Brass, because they fly pretty high right and a bit forward, every gun might be different. Its the Carrier Handle in the Teeth I am worried about.

  15. Is that a full length gas system?

Mullet Man, is it the S12 gas system you were asking about ? if it is no, the gas block was moved back almost two inches. The length of my Barrel is 12 inches.

  16. Fort Lauderdale. Markham Park is the best place to go in Broward but they are strict and regulate alot of things. Depends on what kind of shooting you wanna do.

Yeah I been there. I hate too much restrictions. I want to check out that open range in Homestead on this Guys private land. He lets you practice drawing from the hip, rapid fire, and you can even use Tannerite. There is a range master to monitor the line but you can do anything. My frien asked the owner when he first went there, what are your restrictions ? the owner said, you have a Grenade, throw it.
