  1. Tech-Site has a sight coming out? Outstanding!!!! Larry makes great sights and gives great service. I've purchased several sights for Rugers and SKS's and they all performed beautifully! He answers any question you have and is a complete gentleman to boot! I can't wait to give him more business....AK rear peep sight....here I come!! Finally at last!

I read somewhere that it's not only the sight but a new receiver cover as well. It will attach to the tang.

I'm waiting for that as well.

  2. I guess in my mind it's revived the whole AK vs AR\.223 vs 7.62x39 debate.

I originally purchased my Saiga as a SHTF fan gun. But after a few trips to the range I discovered that I really like putting small holes in pieces of paper from various distances. And I really, really like it when they end up where I aim them rather than all over the place.

I don't have unlimited funds to throw around either so that plays into it as well. It would be cheaper to do some mods to my Saiga. I discovered on another AK forum that TechSights is coming out with a new sight for AK's in 2008. I also found another company that's going to offer a Kreb's Rail like mount. Again in 2008.

But I wouldn't mind having an American AR either.

I guess the only answer is to have both!!

  3. I've gotten a little frustrated with sighting in my Saiga 7.62. I'm not a fan of the notch type sight and adjusting the front sight left to right is a real pain. My shots are all over the place so I'm not sure if I have my Saiga sighted. Attaching a red dot is much better but I'd like to have the iron sights working.

I made the mistake of checking out an AR at the local 'fun' store and began to investigate how customizable the AR really is. So I'm planning on building a flat-top with flip up sights. But the $$$$ difference is making me reconsider. That and after all the reading I've been doing it just seems like the gas piston system is better. I'd love an AR upper with a gas piston but then we are talking some serious $$$$$$$.

So anyways, do I keep going forward and plan my AR build or do I look at ways to modify my Saiga more?

The rail systems that are supposedly coming out that attach at the rear sight and stock look very interesting and then figuring out what rear sight to use with that and then move the front sight to the gas tube area might be an option.

    Any thoughts??

  4. "The Muslim scholars state: "As Muslims, we say to Christians that we are not against them and that Islam is not against them - so long as they do not wage war against Muslims on account of their religion, oppress them and drive them out of their homes."

Meanwhile all over the world Muslims are waging war on Christian's on account of their religion, oppressing them and driving them out of their homes.

Count me as one Christian who has had enough! In places like Sudan for instance. I've had enough of the church funds raisers to raise money for food for the Christian's in Sudan. We ought to be raisng money but to buy them weapons so they can defend themselves! If their prayers are answered and deliverence comes, will it not be at the end of a barrel by an outside force? That's the way it worked in the Old Testament. So let them have the ability to defend themselves.

  5. Is that why the news in North Carolina frequently have new reports of drunk, illegal's in car wrecks, killing Americans going about there daily lives????

If one of my familiy is ever effected in this way you will have one irate American who will on camera lay the blame at El Presidente Bush.

When this happens, America (as we've known it) will cease to exist and I'll be flying the Stars & Bars. Even though I'm a Northener.

  6. 'On the contrary... you need to immerse yourself in them' :D

    I don't think so....

But the new Resident Evil movie does look interesting.

Once in High School, my friends decided that a good place to park and smoke some leafy substance was in the graveyard!

I was FREAKING OUT!!!!! I had to fight the urge to get out of the car and run for my life!!

I glad they didn't know the story! I could only imagine what they would have done!

Course there was this time once when leafy substance was involved that 3 of the 5 of us had Halloween masks and we put them on and grabbed yard tools and chased the other 2 through the woods, screaming and yelling.

I apologize for glorifying drug use but man that was hysterical!!

  7. I am not into Zombie movies!

A little story. I'm in my 40's now but when I was in the age somewhere between 1st and 5th grade, I had this Fangoria magazine which I believe had a script or something like that from Night of the Living Dead. So my parents go out one night and leave me with a sitter and she reads me stuff from the magazine. Now my sister and I had a bathroom between our bedrooms. So all I remember is going to bed and then THE SITTER JUMPS OUT FROM THE DAMN BATHROOM ONTO MY BED SCREAMING AND STUFF.

    Talked about TRAUMATIZED !!!

Then my parents move and we end up living about 100 yards from a graveyard!!

I had some of the worst nightmares you could imagine. I think they stopped once I got into my 20's.

I probably should volunteer to be a zombie in a movie just to undo all of that.

They intrigue me but I will not see one.

  8. Id strongly consider this mount: http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/detail.aspx?ID=506

It mounts low, and puts the optic center above bore center line instead of offset to the left like the others.

Of course you'll have to purchase the scope separately, but you'll always be center. It's worth the extra dollars IMHO.

You'll find plenty of POSP variable type scopes that will fit that mount there, too.

Can you see the std sights through the base of those rings??

  9. Are you still looking?

I have one of these http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/detail.aspx?ID=187 . I have it posted pn the THR Forum. I'm looking for 35.00 including shipping.
