    Great video, GunFUN! Looks like you can load the magazine blindfolded!

    Was told that Winchester Universal is not too good with this gun. That's what I was using.

    Kinda different than my AK, which you just load and shoot, and it keeps going...going...

    Dont get discouraged, like king of the hill said read read read. But in the meant time your gas valve has to be set to #2 for low brass bulk ammo and NO ONE has good luck with the Winchester bulk ammo. It should shoot the federal stuff O.K. and any high bras but make sure you set the gas valve to #1 for high brass or you will damage your gun.

     

    Ok. It was set at #2 from the factory when I shot it.. Stupid question, but how do change the settings? Owners manual is practically worthless with the Russian instructions translated to English. Is there somethig out there that I can print up that really gives better information for novices? I have two shotguns, but neither has choke tubes, ect.My regular AK is easy to understand!

     

    From what I have read on here ALL the shops doing conversions are backlogged for months! It really is NOT that hard to do but you will want to shoot it a while before conversion which VOIDS the warranty. Like gun fun said look through the gallery and picture posts and make up your mind what you want first. In the Saiga 12 section on here ther is whole thread with nothing but pictures that is a good place to start.

    Is there a warranty? GUN TESTS says "none".

    Ok, took it out for the first time today. Had a lot of failure to feed and failure to eject problems. Could it be the ammo? Used Winchester Universal 12 guage 2.75 inches, 1200 fps 1.8 oz, 7.5 shot.

    Really hard to load in the factory magazine! Very tight fit.

    Suprised by the recoil. Much less than my 30.06 and Mosin Nagant, when it did shoot.

    Now what?

    Thanks, really good advise! Should shoot it first, to make sure everything works while under warranty.. It's just that they look so awsome converted! Hopefully, the magazines and pistol grips wont be banned in the meantime. The owners manual is kinda vague. So you can shoot regular 12 gauge shot shells with it? Have the November issue of Gun Tests, and the Saiga is rated the best of the test group. Only a B+ rating?

    Saw the videos,and read the sticky here. Well, looks like it is beyond my capabilities. Not too good with small springs and stuff. Used to working on antique cars, but not carburators with all the small parts and springs.

    Thought I'd get the Saiga before they try to ban them!

    Been on this forum for quite awhile and was finally able to buy a new Saiga 12 At Cabela's, with my points it was $450 out the door with all the fees. Nevada charges $25 for a background check! Now, where are the most reasonal places to get the conversion stuff, AK style stock, pistol grip, 12 round magazine, ect?

    One of our distributors called and told us 3 weeks ago with them at $790 and we paid that for 100 of them. They were gone in 36 hours. We just received 100 more and have them on our website at $695. We were told the next shipment, they will be $729 with retail being at $799, but they won't ship until 3 days after ATF ruling. With that being said, there are currently 6 companies with permission to import them. If the ATF study ends without an anti-Saiga ruling, you will be able to buy a Saiga 12 from Mississippi Auto Arms and just about any other online retailer by December for $399.

     

     

     

    OP, why are you guys charging $739.00 for a stock S-12?

     

    I'd really like to here the rational from the vendors prospective.

    so anyone know where i can purchase one from right now for 750? my buddy missed the boat and we spent all day saturday walking around the big giant worlds largest gun show in tulsa ok, but found zero unconverted guns...thanks!

    Actually, you really don't understand.

     

    Actually I do understand. I'm not arguing a businesses right to a market baring profit. If the supply is low or their costs go up, the buyers price will increase. But some vendors go to far. Those are the ones that I don't like or do business with. They are the assholes that will look an uninformed buyer in the face and tell him a $500.00 gun is worth $1000.00, and smile while doing it. Now you feel free to snuggle on up to that guy and justify his actions with some rudimentary impromptu economics BS if you want. Just don't complain when he screws you without lube.

    It's like that when you buy a car. Prices vary greatly from dealer to dealer.

    As a lurker and first time poster, I must say, mods like Juggernaut are not helpful, and have no business being mods. I feel he shows obvious favoritism. Look at what he did in this thread. He banned the guy who was totally correct and left the guy who was wrong alone. It's obvious why banned guy was being a dick, the other guy was being a moron. And the other guy called him stupid first.

     

    ANd I was lurking another thread where Juggernat (i think) called another guy a name, the guy pointed out that was against the rules, and Juggernat banned him for thirty days. THis Juggernat guy is a bully and not condusive to noobs. The people who own this place really need to review the actions of this guy, especially since he keeps around people like biris who are bashing vendors.

     

    I'm sure I'll get banned for this, but it'll just prove my point.
