  1. I actually have a poll over in general right now about this. My old lady can't handle the s12 recoil and I have the limbsaver on a m4 stock. I think its the least recoil of any of my long guns but she still doesnt like it

  2. She has held all of them in their unrestored state and didn't mind the weight of them but that is also without the weight of ammo. My local store has all instock and price is the same on all (they like me). Since I buy the ammo I keep coming back to the 5.45 or 410 since I have a shotshell press. I'm looking at it like this if she don't like it then I have another for me.

  3. I haven't received them yet. Hopefully by my weekend range trip. Could u elmers glue bird shot together to make a fragile with a plastic cap on end for aero? I know my ideas are getting more random

  4. I supply the ammo. I have my main guns the 308 and 12 so this is just going to be a printer for her. She don't care if its rifle or shotgun she says. She said just pick one as long as recoil isn't bad. She just wants one like mine because she watches me change stuff on the s12 every week. I was actually leaning towards the 5.45 but everyone is saying no? 410 she could plop slugs out of but she already has a tiny single shot one.

  5. Hi all. I need help picking a Saiga for my girlfriend. I have a s12 and a s308 but the recoil on them is a bit much for her. She can shoot both clean them and load their mags up. She is also a damn good shot but at 5 foot 1 she does the Saiga dance too easily. She has a tacticool 10/22 but wants something more like my big toys. So which of the other Saiga do you think will suit her? Keep in mind we go to range twice a week. Thanks

  6. Hi all just picked up my 16 inch s308 to compliment my s12 and had a couple questions.1 would it be tacky to paint my guns the same or maybe do one the negative of the other. My s12 is black with od green.2 what ever happened to the g3 mag conversion? Can't find anything since like 2007 I would love to use g3 mags as I Already have some but I would really love to use the drum. Any ideas? Thanks

  7. Well how should we carry out this plan? Personally I don't speak French and I hate to say it but I really dislike the the French. Almost as much as squirrels . So we need a ffl. Anyone have any candidates who might understand the cause?

  8. Well I haven't heard of any type of shotshell study so I would think they might be under the radar. For now. If you ever look at any personal armor or even vehicle armor class 3a and some higher ratings states it will not be effective against even normal shotgun slugs. So if they were going to bitch they would have to do it about all slugs. I have shot many things with horandy sst slugs and not much stops them either.

  9. I would take 50 at that price. If testing went good I would take more. I would even be interested in just the payloads if we could get reading data for them, that would probably be way easier to import.

  10. Sorry surfing from my phone so I don't see whole thing. I like some of the ideas behind their ammo. Janes defense has a lil info on them, apparently their designer also did some other work on apfsds rounds for tanks that's why they looked familiar armor piercing fin stabilized discarding sabots I want some really badly now

  11. This is something I'm working on. I am taking a 2 hour journey Monday to a custom barrel manufacturer to see if he can do it. Probably won't be very cheap but I'm not that bothered by it if he can pop out some rifled ones or just replacements.

  12. Ok here comes another from left field. What parts are the same between the 12 and the 20. I'm really interested in the bolt carrier to be exact and is the bolt the same length? What about the locking lugs? I'm thinking sleeve the barrel of the 12 to a rifled 20 and making a bastardized bolt with a plate to adapt the mags.

  13. It may be futile but I just fired off emails to izamash asking about pressures and proofing. I might just have to schedule me a trip to russia. I had been considering it anyway for bussiness.

  14. I think its human nature or something this affinity for over pressuring a system. I do electro hydraulic controls for coal mining and 98 percent of failures come from having too much pressure. Yes it may go faster or seem more reliable but it beats the crap out of so many things giving it more pressure is not a fix something will be absorbing more force then its designed for. It may not seem that it is doing harm but it is. Slowly but steadily. Everything has a fatigue point microfractues will form and get worse. The gun like most systems was designed with a certain range of operating pressures that shouldn't be exceded. Do you really want your face next to something that you have exceed limits of on a regular basis. I would like to ndi a gun that has been over gassed awhile. I plan on magnafluxing my bolt before I start hand loading even

  15. Ordered. Friggin 10 dollar shipping. Thanks for link. Picking up some brass bar to form some slugs out of Friday. All right now some one talk to me about pressures. What is proofvon these and what's max operating? Also anyone know what would be minimum to cycle a properly passed gun?

  16. My 45-70 is what I always had in areas with bears loaded with buffalo bore hardcast. After watching these penetrate an old vest dig a tunnel in the stump it was on I felt pretty good about them. It's things like the buffalo bore and the leveroution ammo that bring me back to the super slug. A supposed obsolete cartridge that somebody thought outside of the box on and has made a resurgence as a modern dangerous game cartridge. I was always told the 45-70 was ballisticly similar to 12 ga slugs for the ridiculous drop but taking large game with it was not uncommon out to ridiculous ranges by aiming like an artillery piece. Any one know what the old requirements were to be called a rifle man? Man sized Target at 500 yards open sights. Check out the Apple seed project they come around to ranges and will teach you how. All I'm saying is this was old tech and we've come along way just look at the stuff we have done to what is essentially a big piece of crap from the factory. There has been some amazing inovations like lrbho, drums, magwells, and so on but NONE on the most basic the most important thing what comes out the barrel. I'm just trying to stir the pot of thought. Is there really a need. No. Is there really a need for anything we do to these. No we could leave them as imported. But we don't. We improvise we adapt we over come. We innovate some much so there is a Friggin government study about us. Now that's saying something. We are not content so why be content with crap ammo? Sorry about the rant.

  17. I could hunt somewhere else but I really like the way this idea is going. I will try more digs this weekend also I just bought a reading press to try some ideas out
