  1. Yes I asked when I first moved to this stupid area and the property I would be hunting on is in Allegheny county and the owner said it is straight shotgun only. There are no semi auto rifles allowed at all even in the rifle approved areas this area has dumb rules.

  2. How odd you bring up the 45-70. That's what my rainbowing the lead in came from because many times they were used at plain stupid ranges by aiming muzzle high and realizing they would drop. I have a Martin 1895 but still cannot use it as the area is shotgun only. There is a muzzle loader season but that is what the property owner hunts so he said I could have the shotgun days on his land. Plus I can't believe with all the stuff done to these guns this is unthinkable

  3. Yes unfortunately the area where I can hunt is shotgun only unless I wana try a Friggin bow and arrow which i really suck at because of my nerve damage. Yes one gun that u pick up if u don't know what u will encounter is my goal close to medium range. I consider man size at at 125 yards the max but I could probably rainbow some lead further

  4. I will have to try the brennekke black magic so far my s12 loves their ko slugs. Sickness is on the idea path i like. Bring the s12 out of only being close range and give it to around 125 yards make it so one mag load can dominate close and another mid range. Anything out past let's say 150 yards you could hit but not super accurately and you should use something else. I think the s12 will make a excellent all around platform for do it all gun. I just like the fact that I have a lot of chances to put big holes in stuff really quickly too

  5. You gentleman are right I guess. Some of my ideas work and some don't my new idea is find a 20 gauge bolt and sleveing the barrel down to 20 gauge but rifled. Kind of like the high end side by side full length choke tubes. Just came up with it earlier while holding one of those tubes. I really wish they had a saga 10.

  6. You are right sir i am not the best shot that's why I am trying to stack the deck in my favor. I would hate to see u with my tar heel I know I'm not doing it justice. I can't really do anything to improve my accuracy on my end so I screw with the firearms and ammo

  7. 50 to 150 yards is what I do with my slug gun using horandy sst sabots with a 22 fully rifled barrel and scope but can hold a 3 inch group most of the time out to 200 but that's a bolt action made strictly for that purpose. I don't think asking a properly built s12 for 3 inch at 150 would be out of the question I just have to find the right ammo for it. I have 5 more types of slugs I'm working with this weekend. I contracted Bpi for the slugs and emailed rmc for the brass cases. I just like things a little different then most I guess I just got some spare cash and like to try odd things really

  8. Google 12 gauge fh and u will see the leaps and strides these guys have made with this stuff its amazing. But yes it is essentialy pointless unless u can only use a shotgun for hunting and want better range and accuracy. I'm interested in it for that and the wow factor when I go to the range since its slug only and the guy is going to check my ammo. Anyone know what is the shortest case that will load. Like 2 1/8 with 1/2 of slug protruding on top of that or would the case have to be 2 3/4?

  9. Can't find anybody around me that would let me shoot. So I'm going to follow the rules. Kind of. I'm ordering a magwell, lrbho, and 10 of the 2 round mags then practice mag changes alot. That's step 1 in my plan. Step 2 is going to be my super slug project. The important part is to follow their rules actually considering a full on build on another s 12 just for them.

  10. My thoughts exactly. these brass cased would defiently have a wow factor as for the ballistic were talking about something a third again as big as a fifty cal and I know from experience they have no problem with knockdown power. I know the power wouldn't be the same but the pointy on is still ounce and a quarter. that's gonna knock something down. like zombie elephants. or maybe a squirrel.

  11. I can't help it I like things that are kinda pointless. Those are the ones that are extremely fun. I will now try to post pics of what I've found. Bpi full bore hollow point copper jacketed slugs and slugs in magtec brass sticking out the end and cramped like a rifle shell. They intrigue me. They look cool too.

  12. Hi all. I had an idea earlier after reading about the 12 gauge from hell involving brass cased full bore slugs. My question is why no one uses pointed slugs that stick out the case? Ballistic it would have to be better. Like a 76 caliber rifle round. My thoughts were like my 45-70 no one made them because of tube mags and heavy recoil. Saga 12 does not have any of those problems cause of the stacked mag. I found some pics of people doing this I will try to post later. Just wondering if anyone else had these thoughts?

  13. Talked to css just now and they will work with the sgm magwell so that is the route I'm going to go. Thank you all for your input.

  14. That was my original thought but I didn't want to make big waves and get banned from the only place I can go. I found this place 2 weeks ago and have been 6 times in that time. None of the other guys there had a problem with it just the one guy. I was going to get some 2 rounders for turkey anyway I figured I wouldn't draw as much attention from game warden that way. It's just the slug range that has the issue. Sleet range wanted me to try the md20 on the clays.

  15. This isn't even indoor its part of state gamelands. That's what was killing me all the ar guys had 30 mags but "only 3" in them when I actually only had 3 and guy was all butthurt. Wish my countys range was still open but the funding went to another methadone clinic. All the private ranges I have contacted are on a year wait. So I have to beat this guy at his own game. I was thinking 20 of the 2 rounders and get quick at mag swaps

  16. It was hard not to get angry with a guy 2 stations over using a beta c on a ar who didn't even get a second look but this is the only range in 30 miles since our countys got shut down.

  17. Hi all I am getting a lot of crap at the range I have going too lately. The range is 3 rnds slug only. It sucks but I deal with it. Well I went the other day and like normal I have my mags all with 3 in them even though they are all 10s, load the first one up and range guy came screaming up. He freaked out on my gun my mags and then about the disrespect to others for not following the rules. I was told to leave until I had mags that could only hold 2 and were shorter in length so they didn't give the wrong impression. So all that aside will the short 2 rounders work with the agp magwell? Has anyone ever encountered this crap? I'm trying to be the bigger man and do what this guy says because I like the range
