  1. Hey guys I was at the range today and I had on 2 occasions my AK go full auto on me. I had the 5 round Arsenal Mag in and the one time it fired 2 and the other time 3 rounds in succession. I have the G2 Trigger Group in my Arsenal and was using Brown Bear FMJ. Never had this issue before...has anyone else

  2. If your gun already cycles low brass out of the box. I'd look at the TAC47 auto plug. I had great experience with it. Took about 1 full turn to tune to my gun and it works great. I have a lot of 8 round mag dumps with mixed federal birdshot, slug and buck. No issues. There is a video on YouTube how to tune it.

  3. Hey guys I have recently noticed that the main pin holding the bolt together is loose. As in I can push it through the other side with ease. Does this pose a problem with shooting and the pin being ejected mid cycle. If so what is the fix for this. Thanks guys

  4. Welcome to the forum Caleb!!!

Like everyone said there is a ton of information on this forum along with a lot of good experience. I will just say that you def. need to inspect the gas port before you buy. If you are ordering it I know Greg at CSS will inspect it before he sends it off to your FFL. As far as your reliability concerns go. I look at it like this. Out of the 1000 rounds I have put through my Saiga I have had 0 failures with high brass (which I keep in the gun for HD...good quality Federal OOO Buck is what I keep in it) After I added the TAC 47 auto plug and tuned it to my gun it now runs flawlessly with mixed mags of high and low brass. My original goal was to run winchester universal (the shittiest of the shit) reliably however after asking around here the Federal Bulk pack that is the same price has a bit higher gas and will function a heck of a lot more reliably with MD20 round mag dumps. I would def. stick with the factory 5 rounder for the HD setup (unless you can get your hands on a Russian 8 Rounder...bout 150 bucks). Again Welcome and don't hesitate to ask if you have any issues

  5. I was wondering what everyone's estimated round count is in their guns. Thinking back I probably have around 700-800 rounds through mine. Mostly Birdshot but there was a good amount of OOO Buck and Slug through it. I am asking because I am curious to the projected longevity of these guns after you put a few thousand rounds through them. Thanks

  6. Hey guys. I was recently watching a Vid on you tube about cross loading ammo for SHTF scenarios. Pretty good Vid. It's by SafeArmsReview. Anyways I was setting up all my ammo and gear and I was wondering if it would harm the md20 by keeping it loaded 24/7 with some 000 buck? Thanks guys

  7. Surefire 8 round magazine loaded with 8 OOO Buck Federal Powershok. You loose 1 pellet with the 8 count OOO Buck but the OOO size is slightly bigger than a 9mm. So basically an 8 round 9mm burst in a fairly tight pattern. Plus it is fairly inexpensive.

I also keep a factory 5 round mag in my dresser with 5 rounds of Brenneke 2 3/4 SF Magnum.....designed specifically for penetration :)

  8. Don't get discouraged dude....these guns are a "project" as I see them. And that is what makes them badass. Because you can make them into what I think is the most devistating small arm next to the AA12 (which i think is a heaping POS). Just browse the forum and pick everyone's brain here and you'll be fine

  9. Hey guys,

I just wanted to share an experience I had at the range with everyone. So I am at the range tuning my 08 3 port gun to my new TAC 47 auto plug. It went great. I can't rant about this product enough. Mine took about 1 full turn to tune to my gun before it ran Winchester Universal without a hitch (2 8 round mag dumps with Winchester Universal, OO Buck, and Brenneke KO staggered). As I am running my Saiga, 2 different guys approached me regarding the Saiga 12 and that everything they heard was negative (FTF, FTE, etc.). I explained to them the common issues with Saiga 12s (Vodka Specials, and that it was never intended to run low brass). However many people tune their guns to run cheap ammo (porting, auto plug, etc). I explained the mods done to mine which included porting to 3/32 and the auto plug. Remember I said that I ran 2 full mag dumps without a problem....well I let one of the guys shoot my gun and he had a FTF every time. I didn't get it. Finally I noticed that he wasn't getting behind it and every time he shot he bitched about the Tromix stock being uncomfortable (and he was shooting low brass). I grabed the gun back from him and ran a full 8 round mag no problem as fast as I could pull the trigger.

The point being for all you new guys here to the forum is that this is a 12 gauge shotgun. IT IS GONNA HURT YOUR SHOULDER if you are shooting high brass.

The second point is before you start complaining about FTF, FTE and modding you gun out make sure you are getting behind the gun and providing a solid platform for the gun to operate. If you don't have a solid platform then you have another issue (mabye sand in your vag).

Sorry but I was just on a rant from these two "men" at the range

  10. Hey guys,

I just wanted to post some pics of my finished product (AS OF NOW.......or until the Chaos Nemesis comes out!!!). I'd like to thank everyone for all the advice and suggestions that helped me out toward my build.

    2008 3 Port Saiga 12

    - Drilled out Ports to 3/32

    - Tromix DIY Trigger Guard and FCG

    - ACE Internal Reciever Block with Folding Mechanism=

    - Tromix Skeleton Stock

    - Chaos Tri Rail

    - Magpul AFG (Many people have mixed opinions on this product but I love it. It allows a more natural grip on the shotgun as opposed to a vertical grip)

    - Surefire X200

    - GEAR Sling Mount (Purchased from SKD Tactical. Great solid mounting platform for a basic sling)

    - TAC 47 Auto Plug (Tuned to run Winchester Universal. This product rocks. Mine took about 1 whole turn in to tune to my gun. I dumped 2 8 Round Surefire Mags with staggered Win. Universal, OO Buck, and Brenneke Slugs with no problem. However, it is to note that the MD Arms 20 rounder takes more gas to run so I will probably retune to Federal Bulk, which has more gas, and stock up. None the less. Awesome product)

    - Black Ice Coating Semi Gloss Black (I originally duracoated the gun with combat grey and was disappointed with its lack of durability when it comes to scuffs and scratches. I found Black Ice (www.blackicecoatings.com) online and it is teflon coating that is baked on. Lee over at Black Ice really took care of me. Blasting and coating all for 125 and had it done in about a week. Really great stuff. I shot about 150 rounds through the gun and the carbon just wipes off! Awesome)

Hope everyone enjoys the pics. If anyone has any questions on the mods just ask

  11. Hey guys,

I went out this weekend to tune my new TAC 47 auto plug. It went really well. The plug took about 1 full turn to tighten down the valve before it would work flawlessly with my 8 round Surefire Mag and the factory 5 rounder. I went to the extent to test it with 1 rd Winchester Universal, 1 rd brenneke KO Slug, and 1 round home loaded OO Buck all staggerd and went through 2 mag dumps...no issues. Great product. I went to run the MD 20 with winchester universal and it would hang up every round (FTF). I was curious to if you guys think this is a spring issue (i.e. not enough or too much spring pressuring in the drum....if so how do i tighen or loosen it). Also do you guys think the drums take more gas to run effeciently...more so than the stick mags. Pretty sure I was tuning the plug for my stick mags and not my drum. Thanks guys

  12. Hey guys. I just noticed that my Saiga 12 has a small hairline crack/hole on the bolt carrier. The crack is in the path in which the bolt rides and you can see it through the hole that the recoil spring goes through. I noticed this after my conversion. It hasn't seemed to get any larger or effect the gun at all. I avoid shooting any 3" and mostly shoot bulk bird shot and 00 buck and slugs only to sight in and pattern. My question is do you guys think it will be ok or I was thinking of using a bolt and bolt carrier I have from another Saiga that is just laying around to use. The gun probably has upwards of 500 rounds through it (mixed slugs, buck and bird) with no issues.

    See the pics
