I like the idea of a compact stock. I am in the process of converting my 7.63x39 and have the Tapco side folding stock. I am not sure that it is as solid as I would like. Is there a underfolder stock that would work for a conversion? What stock would you recommend?

I am working on my first conversion. I have a 7.62x39 and I verified ahead of time that I needed the flat bullet guide. So, I am now trying to install it and it will not seat. It still looks like flat is right but the bullet guide is too wide and won't lie flat where it is supposed to. Is it common to have to grind them down a bit to make them fit? Just want to check before I screw something up.

Anyone else want to weigh in on this? I am going to be putting a shopping list together soon.

I have a x39 that I am looking to convert. This is my first one so I need some hand holding here. I am looking for quality with this conversion but don't need anything fancy. I want reliable parts. I am looking at these two kits: K-Var Kit Carolina Shooter's Supply So, would one be recommended over the other? What additional parts would I need? Thanks for helping me out!!
