    2 questions

I am trying to replace the disconnector spring but I was wondering if i can do it by had (without power tools). thanks im just trying to repair my rifle without having to do complete surgery on the thing.
  7. so would what I posted work?
  8. 1) I tried asking this in the x39 section but this seems better. can I remove the trigger assembly without drilling into the receiver? this is the info I have gathered. take off the receiver cover and then look up through the magazine well and find the hooked end of the shepherds crook take some needle-nose pliers and take out the crook it will fly out. grasp the receiver so you can put your thumb on the hammer to control it push the hammer down slightly pull the trigger with your other hand and let the hammer go forward take your needle-nose pliers and pull the ends of the hammer
  9. this is the info I got from another source says this: take off the receiver cover and then look up through the magazine well and find the hooked end of the shepherds crook take some needle-nose pliers and take out the crook it will fly out. grasp the receiver so you can put your thumb on the hammer to control it push the hammer down slightly pull the trigger with your other hand and let the hammer go forward take your needle-nose pliers and pull the ends of the hammer forward so they are retained on the front of the hammer pull out the trigger pin with a punch and then remove the trigger
  10. In order to remove the trigger assembly to replace say the disconnector spring, do I need to drill out the pins on the receiver or can I remove it by hand?
  11. If you set up a group buy, it might get their attention. A simple thread with who is interested in ______ and how many would you buy____. If a few hundred memebers respond and all actively email Kvar with the group buy numbers thatmight just get some wheels turning to get these parts here finally. Clyde Woods (RAA Saiga Importer) emailed me a while back and said he has tried to get parts and no luck. Maybe Izmash-Legion the proshop that Arsenal works with might be able to where RAA has not been. Its worth a try. What would it take to just e-mail straight to the factory and just by
  12. We should try and get everyone (or at least quite a few)on the forum to send an e-mail to them. Im pretty sure if we did that they would realize that there is a market for these parts.
  13. I figured the springs or firing pin would be the first to go, tomorrow I am going to buy that universal Ak spring repair kit from K-var along with it Im getting a 5.45 firing pin and a US made 5.45 piston. any other parts that break frequently(or as frequent as an AK breaks) or parts that I should just have around?
  14. I was looking for replacement parts on here recently and it got me thinking. Who on her has the oldest Saiga, how many rounds have you run through it, and how is your rifles condition? Ill go first. Had mine a little over two years and have put an upwards of 5k rounds through it. expecting some sort of trouble soon. (but then again maybe she will never break)

    Springs

The AK 74 piston (shorter) is the right one and the hammer, recoil, disconnector, extractor, mag latch, and rear sight block springs are universal. The AK 74 carrier would also be the only carrier available that could possibly fit all rifle caliber saigas. The caliber specific parts like the bolts, firing pins(.223 and .308), and extractors is going to take a devine miracle to make them appear. The saigas are an AK103 base gun which is nothing more than a fancy AK74. The AK74 parts or the universal spring parts are the only ones that will work. The AK47 parts like the bolt, firing pin,
