  1. When I lined mine up the first time the screws did not go in right I thought I needed to maybe drill the original holes out a little more. After doing that when I lined up the receiver block and got all of the screws perfectly tight I had the gap also, but I added red lock tight to the screws and took my time to put them in perfectly so as far as I am concerned the gap is staying I am not messing with the screws at this point.

whadya got going on there? a little ACE internal block action?

Yeah I put the final screws in and I am deciding whether or not to do a folding mechanism or not? Granted I think I may start with the Mississippi Auto Arms skeleton stock, and may add a folding mechanism later? I chose the Mississippi Auto Arms because it uses basic M4 recoil pads which I happen to have an extra one of those.

  3. I agree when I originally installed my Hogue it did have some play in it, I added a rubber washer and it was then rock solid. When I added the internal receiver plate it rested on the edges of it perfectly and I was able to remove the rubber washer and still have the rock solid grip. So it definitely needs something added to it, screw it just JB weld it in place....lol.

  4. ^ 200 rounds ain't shit. You haven't really tested it yet.

I'm what you might call a purist.. to a point anyway. Yeah, my bullet guide is rivetted in, (the same way it's attached at the factory), and yeah, I have just a little more faith in this method of attachment than muhfuckin JB Weld. :D

Let us know how that shit's holdin up at about the 2.5-3k round mark, Mossberg. ;)

Sounds like someone needs a hug.....or maybe anger management...lol

  5. Hell use use nail polish for all the stress that gets placed on that guide. Please note the exaggeration here...

I don't know if I'd go down that road. The purists are going to want to use genuine Russian nail polish. Given the embargo on importing Russian fashion items, it may have to be acquired through a third fashionista country. Then you'd have to decide on what Russian nail polish color to use. "Factory Passion" or "Springtime in the Gulag" are two popular choices, but they'll set you back $75 a bottle. But then again, you'll have genuine Russian nail polish.

I have always been fond of the cold gulash color myself. Also one final note just to make the purists crazy!! I did mine with nothing but JB Weld let it set overnight and to this day I have put about 200 rounds over it. So there....lol

  6. Well I will put it this way, to me this forum is a chance to connect with people that have a same interest as I do, now it seems to me IMHO that some here have a bit of a superiority complex and instead of encourage and teach they would rather make fun and try to make some feel as if they do not belong here. But that is what makes our world diverse. I will always try and help out and encourage I mean to me that is what this forum is for. Plus do to the fact that we all have the same stock rifle why not help where we can and trade parts or have a guessing game to give others a chance to get some things they need at a crazy low price. To me this makes sense and I have another guessing game coming at the end of this week so watch for it everyone!!

  7. Well got my Dinzag kit in today, and got my threading done this evening!!WOOT went ahead and refinished my barrel and I am taking it to the range tomorrow for test firing. Dinzag Rocks!!! The kit could not have been easier!! I will try and post pics tomorrow.

  8. OK so I am going to try something different. I have 4 Saiga x39 mags. All 4 will fit a stock Saiga, One is a polymer 30 round ProMag made for Saiga's. The others are standard AK mags that I have modified to fit into a stock Saiga magwell. One is a ProMag 30 round, one is a 30 round steel Chinese mag, and then a 20 round steel Chinese mag. I have tried selling them but with no success so what I am going to do is hold a guessing game, each entry will cost you $1.00 and I will pay S&H for the winner of the guessing game. To enter send me a PM with your e-mail address and a number between 1 and 500 also respond to this post with your number so there are no duplicate entries, and this Sunday the winning number will be chosen, whoever is closest without going over will win all 4 magazines and I will pay S&H for the winner. So here is your chance to get four mags for your Saiga for just $1.00!! Remember send me a PM with your e-mail (so I can request payment for a dollar). So good luck to everyone and thank you for checking this out. The number 275 is already taken by the way.

To enter send me a PM with your e-mail address and a number between 1 and 500 also respond to this post with your number so there are no duplicate entries, and this Sunday the winning number will be chosen, whoever is closest without going over will win all 4 magazines and I will pay S&H for the winner. The winner will be selected Sunday night and the mags will be mailed out Monday morning. Good Luck to everyone.

  10. SO as I have been spending time here in this wonderful forum I have noticed that there are typically two types of Saiga owners. You have your retro classic that love the simplicity of the true design and that is what they strive for, or you have the modern tactical which enjoys adding all of the little bells and whistles, so I am just wondering, Which one are you and how even is the distribution?

  11. So I went ahead and modified my x39 mag catch to take stock AK mags, so now I have a bit of an issue. I have some left over previously modified AK mags and one stock Saiga mag. The items are as follows. 1 20 round steel Chinese mag, modified. 1 30 round steel Chinese mag, modified. 1 30 round ProMag polymer mag, modified. 1 30 round ProMag polymer mag made for stock Saiga, no modification needed. These have all been tested and work great, of course they are used. Looking for a buttstock for trade or cash is always king. The style of buttstock is a little specific, so cash may be a better option. The stock is either an ACE, a DPH or the MAA brand of skeleton stock, due to the fact that I already have the internal receiver plate in my x39. As far as cash, I would be willing to let the group go for the steal of a price of $50.00. That comes to $12.50 a mag they are already modified and ready for your stock Saiga and I will pay shipping. Just PM me anyone that is interested and we can set up arrangements. Pics are posted below 1st pic are the ProMag polymers. 2nd pic are the Chinese mags. 3rd pic is all of them together. Thanks for looking.

  12. OK so my next question is this, if my barrel is 16.3 inches and say my muzzlebreak is 2 inches can I cut 2 inches from the barrel and then add the break? I am sure my numbers are not exact I am just wondering if the muzzle break would be factored in to the length of the barrel as far as keeping the barrel length non class 3 or is the muzzlebreak not figured in to the actual legal length of the barrel?

  13. O.K. let's put the JB Weld to rest for now I have a bigger issue on hand and I figured this would be the place to get an answer seeings how my post has drawn so much attention. I have found a friend that has a full set of tats and dies and all the stuff for threading. I am wondering if there is a particular size or something that would be used to thread my barrel? Or I guess how to know if the set he has will contain the right one? I know that I want left handed threads that are 14x1 but how does that relate to which die I need to use? Or if there is a special die and tat that are used just for barrels? This is something I am taking very seriously so please help, and just so everyone knows I have the whole bullet guide kit on order I originally posted this thread to see if anyone has had any success with this option so who knows what I will do as far as the bullet guide goes, the immediate issue now is trying to determine if my friend has the right gear to thread my barrel, please help this is one I know I am not willing to shortcut at all!!

  14. Sure! And when you drive to the post office to pick it up, make sure you don't wear a seat belt.

(The above post is all in good fun. Although I think it's silly to use play-doh on a gun, I really don't care what you do.)

Seatbelt? I ride a little pink tricycle with a pinwheel beanie, yelling "franks and beans"!!!.... :lolol:

  15. Well I just got my E-mail today from Brian at Dinzag Arms and my guide is on the way, like I said I will post pics of the install and even put vids up of the range test, I am now hell bent on making this work!! So stay tuned and I will keep everyone posted as best I can.
