  1. I hate to even comment on this one, but as mentioned before high brass low brass is terms used from the old days to represent power of the loads. Now days its just a way to say high power low power. In just the last two weeks Ive shot 12 diff loads from weak 2 3\4 loads to hot 3" loads. Very few of them changed the brass base just because of the load. One Winchester target loads the brass actually decreases with increase in the dram eq list. Very few ive seen even use the term anymore. Ive shot lots of brands much hotter than some yet have much lower brass. Some its said will even use high bra
  2. I have an late 09 S12 that I have just bought and have a Gunfixers plug in it. I didn't notice any difference with it and actually it didnt seem to flow gas as well as the stock plug. Only high brass would work reliably. i researched the forum threads and decided to compare and measure the gf plug with in comparision to the stock plug. I discovered several things. The gf plug is longer and seats deeper than the stock plug. I could see from the powder markings on the side of the gf plug that only one gas jet was actually entering the cutout on setting 3 and on setting 1 and 2 all three of
  3. I can tell you one thing about my S12. Yesterday i was firing mine and after about a hundred rounds it quit ejecting my rounds. I was firing some Win 1300fps 7.5 shot which has always cycled well. At first i thought something happened but my buddy said the slide did come back some. I already has my plug set on 3 so i loaded up some 3" mags and they cycled fine. Took the gun apart and immediately saw the issue. After previously cleaning it i had sprayed rem-oil down the gas tube and forgot to dry it out. the powder mixed with it and turned to paste and all the shooting i was doing dried it out.
  4. Mine was also having fte issues, but only with bird shot 1250fps or less. Anything 1300 fps or higher worked fine. You can work ur gun or pay someone to tune it or get a weaker comp spring which i use with the lighter loads. I have the gunfixers plug but it doesnt change the upper or lower range of pressure related feeds, it just allows you to better tune the gun to a particular load. Ive tried it with lower powered loads and the stock plug with the same load and neither would feed lower rounds. The comp spring works and i can use a lower setting on the plug and not work the action as hard. Af
  5. I haven't fired but about 100 rounds through mine yet so I know it's not broken in good, but I've tried about 8 different types of ammo. Anything in the 7 1/2 or 8 shot range that was under 1300 fps would not cycle good. I have the gunfixers gas plug and the twistypuc in. I don't think the adj gas plug will actually make ammo cycly that won't with the stock plug. It gives you a better range of adjustments so that you can better control the gas flow to the piston and not overgas the system, but I don't think it increases or decreases the overall boundries. I could be wrong though. I just r
