  1. The V plug really helps my saiga run perfectly. One of my holes isn't perfectly over gas block and I had to file block/open holes and do a lot of grinding and polishing on new tromix trigger to get my saiga to feed bird shot reliably.

With v plug I will usually run slugs on setting 1-2 least open, and then tune my buck/ other high powered loads to 3 or 4 and run birdshot and low recoil loads on 5.

This way I know my saiga isn't over gassed and I consider the V plug a must have at least for my gun.

  2. So went out to buy a gallon of milk, and picked up this nice brand new Draco-c with sling mount, sling, 3 30 round mags 2 polymer 1 steel, and one 20 round mag, plus utg bipod, Chinese AK style mag vest and a T-shirt :)

All numbers match on Bolt, Carrier, receiver, haven't check barrel gun made in 1974, everything looks brand new, haven't fired it needs a good cleaning to get factory cosmo out, and then off to range I will go.

Was thinking of buying another Saiga 12 for $750 last week, but couldn't get the cash out of the ATM lol. Instead I saw this little devil and couldn't resist, as it will go nicely with my Saiga, and GP Wasr-1063 :)

  3. Mine cycles from the hip....over my head...upside down, sideways homie style or whatever....lol.

haha sideways homie style got to try that one ;)

Also I believe in the MD gas plug to really get a feel on how your gun is cycling. 5 settings lets you fine tune the Saiga into a 1 handed from the hip firing machine.

For standard buck shot I use setting 3 at range but if I wanted extra one handed reliability at home I might set it to setting 4 or even 5 for my rem manged recoil 00 buck loads. I just picked up 250 rounds of them and my next range trip will probably consist of testing them in every sideways homie one handed style I can think of :)

  4. mine will cycle 95% of the time one handed or fired from hip with federal bird shot with the occasional fail to extract if I really limp wrist the thing. I have the Tapco folder which is considered the cheapest least nice folder u can buy, my gun now runs shooting from shoulder 100%, and although MD plug, opening gas ports, polishing rails, and lubing correctly all helped me achieve reliability, but it wasn't 100% until I focused on my hammer, and the friction caused by bolt and bolt carrier rubbing against the hammer.

Like Pauly said, it wouldn't cycle this reliable until I really focused on polishing/profiling the hammer. This is a art in its own because a hammer that has to much metal taken off can cause worse problems.

  5. Hahaha Screw It I just ordered another one. The price is just tooo good. These are way better than mags IMO. And the shotgun is easier to fire from LOW prone positions.. with mags mag hits ground, and first thing you learn in combat is to get on the ground low as possible.

3 drums on a tactical vest should look pretty cool. I think the drums will hold up very well over time... this new polymer plastic seems to be well made...

  6. Well my drum came today. It fit right out of the box but there is a little wiggle from side to side.

Immediately I loaded her up and I brought out my black Molle II tatical vest a friend got me from gun show.

Surprisingly the 12 round mag fit in the 100 round saw pouch that came with the vest but it was tight, and although not to bad I'd rather have loose than tight. So I ordered two 1 quart canteen molle pouches after reading some posts on here and a 200 round saw that I hope will fit my MD20. The colors I got are tan, which should look cool on black vest and match dark earth tapco folder and grip.

I'm almost ready to order another drum even though I haven't even tested this one. Price is good and the quality seems very nice. I've had my Romanian AK mags wobble from side to side and they have NEVER JAMED in my AK ever. In fact my Romanian Wasr is only gun I own that hasn't ever jammed lol.

Problem is I also just ordered the TOP rail for my SGM tri-rail $40, and now im thinking of getting a open site EO-tech knock off of some kind lol. Was thinking burris fast fire II but just don't have the funds yet..

I may mount my cheap walmart red dot and see how that goes lol...

Oh 15 round value pack slugs and buckshot at wallmart for the win!!

Right along side cheap federal plinking drum dumping fun loads...

This is why I love my Saiga 12, and I had an AR, and have a AK. Way cheaper to go out and shoot and have fun while still developing real world tactical skills, while still having a bad ass tacticool shot gun that even impresses the guys with the most mods on their AR at the range...

Man I really want to order 2 more drums instead of just 1..

  7. fire off some slugs out of 5 round mag, buck shot, and bird shot.

If gun only cycles slugs/buckshot then you are probably undergassed..

95% of guns are under gassed because of weak US ammo.

Your gun isn't a vodka special, it was just meant to fire stronger loads.

To fire off the birdshot I would recommend the MD Arms V plug or the new auto plug is getting some good reviews. MD is cheaper and trust me it will work and help your gun cycle better. This is the first thing you need to do after testing if gun will cycle weak ammo because may guns will cycle 99% after MD V plug that would have constant fail to feeds before.

Next start reading threads on how to check your gas ports and see if u can fit paper clip in them. If they are to small or obstructed by gas block your gun may have problems cycling weak ammo and may need a few tweaks. If you convert the gun the new trigger will need polishing with dremel. I suggest polishing rails also.

Go buy a dremel with a polish kit if you haven't already. Makes polishing rails ect easier, i like the wire brush wisp for the rails. Next lube everything very well. The gun comes with a oil bottle for a reason, and IMO needs more oil than other AK's.

  8. I'm real happy with my 12 round drum. I could have done a better job fitting it but... I have a couple MD20's and one fit right out of the box. I have a bunch of surefire 12's I bought off gb two years ago for $25 each. I have cut 2 down to 8 rounders and those and the 12 round drum are my favorite magazines. I need to cut some more down. I have some promags and I really don't have a problem with them but tehy are notorious for poor working ability....ftf fte??? no feed??? I don't know. I put silicone down them and they run fine. My one AGP ended up with a shattered spring but kevin replaced that no questions asked.

I might have to buy another one for $63.77 Mine was like $73 shipped from the gun source.

I wish I had a few more mags but I think I have most tactical and survival scenarios filled now. If I had to strap down I could carry the MD 20, with pro drum in pouch surefire in vest and maybe cut it down, and 5 round mag in vest pouch also.

Anyone have experience carrying surefire 12 in mag vest/pouch or is it smarter to cut it to a 8 or 10 that way? Seems like it would be easier to carry.

Still 44-48 rounds of 12 gauge is enough for me until I get more money saved up and my finances straightened out lol. But for $63.77 i think it's a bargain with the good possibility of going up in value in the future.

I'm hoping for a snap in fit but I had to file the MD a bit to get it to work so we will see.

  9. Since MD arms isn't coming out with double stacks for what could be years, I thought now was a good time to add a new drum. I already own a MD 20 round drum I got on sale when they were $70-80. My gun came with a surefire 12 but it's ridiculously to long for any tactical purpose, i may cut it down to a 10.

All reviews seem positive about these drums as they copied MD's design. I know quality and tightness of fitting my MD has wont be as good, but the size and price won me over. $64 at midway, plus $10 off promo code = shipping free = $63.77

Maybe this is why mike decided not to produce double stacks, kinda hard to compete. 12 rounders are fairly small also, would probably be no problem carrying a few on a vest.

Any input on 10 round promag drums? Are they smaller? They are same price. Also midway shows the 12's with black color but I see they make covers in clear and smoke also. Can anyone confirm the midways are the black color? I prefer smoke color but for the price I can't complain.

Ok now no more shopping though until Christmas. Need to save money hopefully all of this stuff will continue to go up in value. "I bought Saiga 12 for around 700 June last year.

  10. http://video.foxnews.com/#/v/4697143/oreilly-vs-stewart-over-common-controversy-part-2/?playlist_id=87485

At the end of the second video on a debate between John Stewart and Bill O'Reilly about Obama inviting a poet whom sympathized with a convicted cop killer. Good debate, but more important, at the end of the debate John Stewart tries to come to an agreement on something with Bill O'Reilly and brings up supporting the Assault Weapon ban because without it cops get killed.

O'Reilly is clearly heard agreeing with him.

Just another example of how much puppets even fox news is to the socialist movement. Stories are mis-direction stories to bring up bullshit talking points like "Hey lets ban Assault riffles". I'm thinking Obama wants this soon, and the liberals in the white house are feeding the other liberals at fox news this bullshit and they are eating it up.

I always knew fox news was a fraud. Like all MSM.

Oh John Stewart sucks ass too. Him, Bill Maher, Bill O'Rielly, think they are such TV hot shots that they can act like lobbyists brainwashing the public about stupid laws that only Law Abiding Citizens would be hurt from. Criminals are going to continuing using all those illegal guns out on the street, no crime will stop.

Maybe if instead they start questioning him on how horrible the economy still is they will realize crime and violence on the street is directly connected to this, and now to how cool of a Collapsible butt stock your allowed to have on your AR15.

High Powered Rifles, oops those go through police and ATF agents bullet proof vests, they will be outlawed next along with pistols. Full Length Shot guns for Skeet may stick around a bit longer, who knows maybe one day the feds will come for all your guns...

  11. This is the freaking problem with government!!!!

They create dumb laws punishable by threatening to send you to basically dungeons which date pre-Christ, which have NEVER WORKED to stop criminals and murderers.

I believe we already had a law about murder, discharging a firearm in city limits/at public and did that stop a crazy person from murdering people? No.

If you outlaw guns, murderers will carry crossbows and knives. Outlaw them and you will see more homemade grenades made out of coconuts, and flame throwers make out of supersoakers.

The murder/criminal will always find a way to commit their crimes.

These crazy people have no faith, no belief in burning in hell if their bad, so they end up snapping while having a hissy fit and murder a bunch of innocent people with no remorse or emotion.

I'm no fan of dogma or forced religion, this country was built on religious freedom, but I believe part of the problem mass murderers justify their actions is a clear lack of humbling them selves to a greater divine power, which can be anything in the universe they so desire, just as long as they accept for every action you take in your life there will be a reaction during your death.

This lesson is simple, commit murder in life, burn in hell for eternity in death? Why isn't the government making laws teaching that simple lesson to every citizen???? Instead they strip freedoms away empowering criminals, and continue to do nothing at helping educate the masses of basic moral values, and in some cases even help strip them away further to create a larger percentage of big ego cold blooded reptilian zombies who murder with zero emotion.

Nothing about this teaching has to be religious. You can teach it a million different ways with a million different answers, to a million different religions. If your a good person in life the equal reaction in death will be good. If you are bad in life then the equal reaction in death is not so good. That example alone should at least make a few scientists and atheists happy.

Instead nooooo, Big Government especially smug snobby liberals think it's clever to outlaw every god given right that gets people to riled up, and threaten punishment of imprisonment or death. All this does is ensure big brother agencies like the ATF, DEA, FBI, NSA, CIA, Department Of Justice, get a big fat check written by you the tax payer, which is payed out to all the friends of elected officals who are put into high profile positions in these types of agencies. Of course they already have laws in every school FORBIDDING teaching anything close to the examples I have made with their bogus philosophy on separation of church and state, so when a kid who isn't getting these morals taught at home or school ends up a social outcast and top that off with a preexisting mental health disorder and in a few years you will have a insane apathetic murdering sociopath, BUT BLAME THE HIGH CAPACITY magazines and the Glock 19 the liberals complain, that's what made the guy snap and made it so easy for him to kill. What a bunch of fucking morons!

What needs to be outlawed is big government! Not high cap magazines!! Gun magazines are just the newest example on a long list of freedoms big government wants destroyed all to rip off the tax payer for a few measly dollars! It's all a SCAM and I'm SICK of it.

Example of fun freedoms Government loves to Outlaw over the course of history to enslave their population into taxed crazy zombies!

    Freedom of religion!

    Freedom to own land.

    Books, writings, freedom of speech.

    Right to marry

    Right to not marry

    Different forms of art.

Premarital sex "my favorite :) "

Sodomy laws outlawing sexual acts with your own wife STILL IN THE BOOKS IN THIS COUNTRY TODAY IN SOME PLACES LOL!!

Prohibition - Alcohol, I don't know how they ever got this one with blood of Christ is wine!

Prohibition - Marijuana and other harmless drugs.

Other prohibition laws stating what your allowed to eat/drink/smoke and put into your body.

And Finally Weapons. Guns, knives, crossbows, rocks. The only things we have left to defend our selves when everyone becomes lifeless emotionless zombies and the whole system collapses while criminals overthrow big government and take over a country.

I beg you to help spread this message. Write your elected officials tell them how you feel. We already have hundreds of thousands if not millions of these criminally insane apathetic people in our society, lets do our best to try to actually ensure the next generation inherits a better system of education, morals, and government than we have today.

  12. Glad I bought mine a month ago before all this nonsense.

Even though its off the news it seems paranoia lasts for and extra 3-4 months in the gun world and this causes ammo or magazine shortage.

And to the people ordering 5-10 at a time, what's wrong with you lol. Shouldn't one be enough????

j/k If I had the money I'd make sure I had 20 extra for storage in my desert bunker hahahahah.

  13. A vertical fore-grip helps a lot when using the 20 round drum. I have handled the "Other brand" 12 rounder, and I like the size a lot, but it looks and feels like the plastic they make kid's toys out of, and that really seems to bug me. Not confidence inspiring. My range has cement underfoot and the plastic snaps look real easy to break if dropped.

I love my vertical grip, and I got the CAA shorty from CSS, running it with SGM TRI-RAIL. Love this tri rail because it feels so natural can switch from vertical grip to classic hand guard.

So far I put over 200 shells through her including some 3 inch mags and a lot of 00 buck and everything is smooth and solid as a rock. Vertical grip helps a lot with recoil in my opinion. Saves my shoulder a ton and makes shooting fun again.

After fixing my gas issues My MD20 has gone through countless dumps without failure! Also I don't think they are impossible to carry, vertical grip again helps a lot with this. I wouldn't want to hike through open planes with her, but if used as a CQC weapon, id take Saiga 12 + MD20 over a light weight AR or AK any day of the week.

  14. yes Mic isn't the best, but it would of been easy for me to amplify the audio of me speaking in my video editing program I was just lazy. Also I have a thick case on phone which mutes mic a bit.

also there appears to be endless external mic solutions for the Iphone 4 if you google them, everything from cheap and simple to professional stuff.

    http://www.google.com/search?q=iphone+4+external+mic&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&client=firefox-a&rlz=1R1GGLL_enUS377US377

  15. I have the 4 and my buddy has the evo.

The 4 IMO is much faster responsive with the touch screen. You're able to flick around open apps ect with almost zero lag.

The EVO has the bigger screen, it's 4 G which means its capable of faster network download speeds when you are within coverage.

Both have tons of apps and both are modern cutting edge phones.

I haven't used the evo software, but I tunes is very easy. It backs up and syncs my phone automatically. I lost my Iphone 4 and had to buy another which sucked, but I was relived when I simply connected new phone to Itunes and it restored my contacts, apps, settings, ect very easily.

Both have an amazing video camera, the Iphone 4 720 P is a amazing picture for such a small camera. I actually just took my latest MD 20 round dump video with my Iphone 4 propped on my backpack on hood of my truck, which u can find here http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=61655

In conclusion I love my Iphone for the fast responsive crystal clear touch screen controls, but wouldn't mind owning a Evo for the android OS 4 G and bigger screen.

  16. I don't think you should use the words stolen by officers at all, even if this turns out to be the case.

The officers could of very well of just forgot to do the paperwork out of laziness or even say they responded to some emergency call, and left the gun in the back of their cruiser or in storage at the PD. This is how they can explain it to the judge anyway. From there all it would take is someone to say they destroyed it or misplaced it among thousands of other pistols at the department. They can come up with endless stories which will all hold more merit than your own even though they are known for corruption. Remember your on their territory and in their backyard.

Just report it as confiscated by officers and then lost by the department. You've already fucked up and admitted to crimes publicly on the internet and it won't take a genius DA to search around and find these forums. This officer your accusing might be friends with a friend who knows the DA or a judge, and then you will find your self extradited back to LA for felony chargers. Trust me it can and does happen. It's their word against yours.

Yeah some of the laws suck, but you know what, that's your fault for partying there and breaking their laws.

Consider your self lucky all you lost was a pistol. I come come from a state were officers are known for "accidentally" shooting unarmed people all the time, and even more so known for shooting first and asking questions later if they get a call that a man/woman has a concealed gun/weapon and is acting angry or intoxicated, even though I live in a open carry gun friendly state. If someone saw you acting loud and drunk and piggy backing a girl as fast as you can down the street, maybe they called in that they think they just saw a drunk person rob a bar, and your accomplice the girl was wounded so you were running her out of there. This is easily how a senior citizen or someone could of reported your behavior to the police.

And you know what, the officers shootings are always justified here no matter how corrupt or bad they look.

If you weren't drinking that night and were not in bars then I would say you have a case and lawyer up and sue them until your last breath, but the fact is you came to their state and broke their laws no matter how much they suck, at the end of the day that's all the judge will care about. If you don't like it you can do your part to help change them, but crying about unjust laws after the fact when the first thing you learn in a CWP class is obeying laws so you don't get in trouble is retarded.

Also I duno how it is there, but in my state you can be charged and convicted of a DUI/intoxication without a blood alcohol, or breathalyzer test. It all comes down to the officers side of the story, and the judges here always believe the officers.

The only smart move to make from here is to report it as lost by the department and hope they might find it and return it to you, if not still consider your self lucky.

  17. LMAO at them telling you to contact the officer your self to get the pistol back.

I duno about the CWP laws there, but here you're allowed to carry in bars as long as your not intoxicated.

If it's true it's illegal to carry in bars there at all, and you've already admitted to this crime on this forum, and the fact that you were arrested for intoxication that night even though charges have been dropped, i duno the consequences you will face if you try to take this to court.

More charges could be brought against you "carrying in a bar", which in turn you might lose your CWP for. Is it worth the risk?

IF you really don't care about getting the pistol back, just report it missing/lost/stolen and have documentation that you reported it stolen and the officers are the ones who last had possession of it, that way u are safe if its ever used in a crime. I would be careful about accusing the officers of anything or pissing to many people off and have the charges and more charges opened back on you.

  18. Some may remember my post from a few weeks ago here.

    http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=61016&st=0&p=582155&fromsearch=1entry582155

Well I haven't made it to the range aka my desert until today.

Messed around and took a video and did some editing here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ey4RzTqjYxI

All I can say is thank god my Saiga 12 is now working 100% with MD 20 round drum and federal 100 round value packs.

5 drum dumps today and all went 100% flawless. The MD arms V Gas Plug is a big reason it works so well imo, what an awesome product.

I duno why but I think because the way the gas is forced into the deep grove causes maybe extra pressure and it allows the gas to pressurize the piston better than the stock plug. The V plug even partially covers one of my holes and it still works better than stock, as my holes were off centered and i had to file the gas block with the D shape file mod posted here :)

I also found that 15 round walmart Winchester value pack XB1200 00buck even likes a little gas for more reliability as i set it to 3 and it worked perfect, that ammo is rated 1325 fps, and the 5 settings on the plug do wonders for custom gassing. I bet the least setting or - would be perfect for high powered slugs. Also the federal wouldn't fire reliably on anything but + the most open setting, and they fired 100% on it :) This tells me with the plug the gun isn't over gassed at all but perfect.

I am now really excited to go back to the range and buy more ammo lol. Man it's been a long long process but she is finally a gun I'm proud of. I bought her back in June 09, and she would only cycle slugs or high powered buck out of the box.

Without this forum I would of been lost, thanks to all you geniuses out there who love to tinker and help us newbies, you know who you are. Now my gift back to you is this video and more to come. I just need to start thinking of cool stuff to go blow up and shoot in the desert.

Oh at the end I thought I was hot stuff and started doing 1 handed shots with factory mag and federal value pack. This resulted in semi reliability but a few fail to extracts. But still impressive it cycled the weak federal stuff. I bet with higher loads it will cycle even better, any input is welcome on this. You never know if your arm is blown off in a gun fight and u might have to fire your weapon with one hand haha.

    :)
