You could always try the "tactical bottle entry tool" sling point they showed off at SHOT. It's a picatinny rail mounted sling point with a bottle opener.

I got the only kind you'll ever need.

OK call me stupid, but I don't see even a finger move and these guys drop and slide a new mag in with no hooking. Seems like there's an adapter built in and new designed mags? What's goin on anyone know?
They made a special magwell that has a release lever on the side. You must also use modified mags rather than standard rock n cock mags

Got mine two months ago from CSS for something like $480 shipped. Was shipped to VA crazy fast.

Just pre-ordered a Titan for my Saiga. Can't wait till that puppy is installed!
-
Is the one on CSS different from the tac 47 autoplug?
nope. CSS even lists it as a tac 47 auto plug.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but i just picked my s12 last week and have been looking for stock options when i do the conversion. I almost put one of these on my old 870 and never did. Does anyone have any other pictures of this setup? Thank you for your help.
I actually just converted my Saiga last week and installed the Shot Stock on mine. Works like a dream. I'll try to get some pics up once I get home tonight.

Amazing work! I have a few questions if you wouldn't mind answering.
How is the flashlight lamp mounted? Do you think you could post some pics? Has the flashlight lamp assembly survived the recoil on its own or did you have to do any mods to keep it running?
Very slick set up. It really blends with the gun extremely well. I have seen pics of your gun before and never really noticed the light (or if I did it didn't quite register) until I read this thread...

You could use a 200 rd SAW pouch. They are dirt cheap at a surplus store or eBay. There are pics of the MD20 in the pouch further down on this thread: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=61620

You will have to convert it before you put the CHAOS rail on to stay legal, I know it was a typo and you meant to write that you have a rail that you WANT to install. Check out this link:
Does adding a railed fore end remove the Saiga 12s "sporting" status? I've never heard that before.
I believe the railed forend counts as a hand guard. If I read correctly, If you change any of the counted parts on the firearm (including magazines) from the sporting configuration it was imported in, then you are non-compliant until you have less than 10 foreign parts remaining on the firearm.

I'm gonna get the 512 one... no need for such an expensive damn eotech.
I'm using a Bushnell holosight manufactured by eotech. It's similar to the 512, but doesn't have the extra metal hood. I got it off ebay for $75. Have yet to mount it on the Saiga (waiting for the new Chaos rail) but it works great on my SKS.

Are you talking about width wise? If so I just bought some that I put together and they are a bit wide and I havent decided if shaving them is warranted yet, they may just wear enough to not be so tight after a while. You might want to check for a gap where the sides come together and make sure they are screwed tight together.
Yes, the problem mainly seems to be the width. You literally need to fit them in perfectly as there is no room for 'error' when loading them. It makes loading them in very slow and tedious; not conducive or anything except simply shooting at things at the range.
I was considering filing them but wanted to see if anyone else was having issues. They feed fine and I have yet to have a misfeed, but loading them is a pain in the ass.
Mine were really tight at first, but broke in very nicely. I would recommend just letting them break in a little before I started sanding.

Welcome to the forum, and to owning your first Saiga.
Be warned, Saiga ownership can get addictive, especially with the S-12.
The AK styled rear sight is something Dinzag offers. HERE is a link to it. He's a great guy to do business with.
Again, welcome and enjoy the forum.
Hey Corbin, what;s the price on this? I didn't see one. Also, how is this installed, besides removing the gas tube and putting this thing on? Is there more to it?
It's a $299 mod that requires you to press off you gas block and remove your gas tube. You then send the gas tube to them to get modded. It also states that its a 10-12 week turn around. The rear sight is also meant to be used with their front sight towers, not the bead sight.

... then we'll start back orders on these really badass rail. ...
I want to get in line to get in the back order line...

They are nice when grapping the mag from the pouch you get a good grip it help alot when you are running and gunning. I have them on my P-mags for my AR and it does make difference, if you are just shooting at the range then you are right there is no need for these.
They are nice only if you can run your mags upside down with the rounds facing down in the pouch. I always run my Saiga mags rounds up otherwise the top round in the magazine can sometimes get hung up on the pouch.

+1 for Rock 'n Lock stick mags and drums
-
Nope, the drum doesn't extend far enough into the magwell to reach the receiver. Technically someone could make a drum with a long stick mag extension off of the top (or an adapter) that could fit into a magwell, but it would look ugly as sin.

Gotcha. Point is good luck on finding a replacement barrel.
That's the easy part, they come in a kit with a receiver, bolt carrier and bolt and some other stuff that nobody ever uses.
Where can I find these kits? I haven't seen a barrel listed as part of the kits that I found on the net.
...He was joking... Read the parts in the kit, he's talking about buying a complete new firearm as a "kit" to build off of.

So I just got a S12 and am coming up with a parts list for my conversion. I just saw on dinzag a 2 stage trigger for the saiga 12 and was wondering if this was a good idea or not. I love 2 stage triggers on rifles, but I'm not sure if its useful on a shotgun.
-
When I ordered my S12 a couple weeks ago from Carolina Shooters Supply, he said he had just talked to an importer that said the prices were going up by $40 soon...
-
We need an embarrassed smiley....
1- cut the vented part of with a Dremel cutting disc then ground the high spots close to the main portion of the choke
2- clamped a drill in a vise
3- screwed a screwdriver handle in the choke threads (I took it apart first) It was difficult to get it centered.
4- put the screwdriver shaft in the drill
5- locked the trigger on the drill
6- turned the drill at high speed and used a file to get it flat
7- wrapped 400 grit paper on the file and finished it off
It took about 20 minutes to do something that I could have done in 2 minutes with a lathe. I'll probably Cold Blue it. Oh well, if you're going to be cheap.... you have to be smart.
Sounds like you had some fun!
-
I like it. How'd you do it without a lathe?
Think he used a pipe cutter
-
It's not a push button folding mechanism, you just apply upward pressure with your fingers to unlock and fold it, and no, the spring doesn't apply any kind of pressure to make it close or open on its own. The spring only applies pressure to keep it locked up when it's folded or unfolded, no tension to make it fold or unfold without manually moving the stock yourself.
Thanks for the info.
