  1. My saiga, using the stock mag, will jam on the first or maybe second round, the bolt ejects the spent round, starts to feed the next round 80% of the way (maybe 1 1/2" left until it would be closed), but the bottom of the bolt scrapes hard against the top of the next round and pushes it forward enough so it's nose starts to rise out of the magazine and jams the gun. I'll see if I can bring a digital camera with me to the range and see if I can take a close up of it when it happens, and of the top of gouged round from the top of the magazine. I've cleaned the gun thoroughly (especially the mag
  2. I love the saiga 16" 7.62x39 I have, but I'm thinking I'd like to find a same caliber VEPR to go with it. Where is a good place to find one? I live in the people's republic of massachusetts, and I've called like 4 shops and none carry them. Can they be ordered to my nearest FFL from a good source online?

Wow, I really like that stock! Where did you get that pistol grip itself? I'd like to try that setup myself.
  4. The assault weapons ban just expired today, does that now make it legal to modify AK mags to fit saigas? I wonder what the ETA on high caps will be before they enter production for saigas and rugers again?
  5. Well, my 7.62x39 16" that was on back order for two months just came in today, package deal $336 out the door with 1000rds of wolf and a sling. I've been looking it over tonight getting familiar with it before I take it out shooting this weekend. I can't figure out the instructions for taking the top reciever cover off, I feel like a moron. I push in the little button above the rear stock, but I can't find the "latch" that I need to get the cover to pop. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
  6. I'm been pretty set to buy a saiga carbine at a local shop here. I'm trying to decide between the 7.62x39 or the .223, I initially put down a deposit on a 7.62 that they were out of stock of, because it's cheaper ammo and has a little more kick. Since then I've read that some people say the trigger setup on the .223 saigas is actually better and they shoot 1"+ smaller groups? Also i've heard that bulgarian .223 30rd clips fit with no mods to the gun while you have to mod a 7.62 to get hi-cap capability. If the .223s shoot that much better it would offset the cost of more expensive ammo. An
