  1. The test is for the man, a local PD. The PDs policy is No drug use at all the last 5 years including pot. Well, Ive smoked the green 4 times and it was between Dec 27th- Jan 1st 2009. I got a call from my cousin saying they found my mom and she had passed away. I just spoke with her the day before and she was only 52. I was wrecked so I visited a friend who I knew was a pot head and smoked. I also smoked a few more times over the next few days. That was almost 3 years ago. When they ask me if I have and I tell the truth I will be auto DQed, if I lie it will show and I will be DQed so Im kinda shit outta luck.

  2. Anybody ever take a poly before? I have a physical, hair follicle drug test and a polygraph next week for a couple jobs Ive applied for.

Im a bit nervous about the poly because 1, Ive never had one, and 2, Ive read and heard you can fail one even if you tell the truth 100%.

My cousin whos a cop told me his department stopped giving polys because of the false positives they have gotten and instead went to the voice

stress test. He himself failed the first poly he was given, complained about it and they gave him the voice test and he passed and got the job.

Any of you ever completed one or have more info?

  3. With Halloween almost here again and Ive been thinking of ghost and goblins and other shit that scares me besides Obama and the future of our country. Anybody have any good stories? It can be other than ghosts.

    Ive got a good one.

It happened in 2003 in Austria, see I used to work for this very rich man for quite a few years and I got to live in Austria for close to five years for this guy. He owend a few houses, one of them a very very old 6 bedroom house with 2 swimming pools. One was an outdoor in-ground pool and in the basement was another in-ground pool, which also had a sauna room and tanning bed. I used to go over sometimes on my day off and go swimming or tanning ect.

The fist time I used the inside pool room in the basement alone, I had an.... experience.

You could gain entry into this room via two ways, One was a door which led into the upper house and the other a sliding door which led outside and up a flight of stairs that opened up to the yard and to other pool.

So I had some time off and decided to go swimming and tanning. I locked both doors for privacy as I wanted to tan naked first. Im the only one in the house besides his wife, his kids were at school and his wife was upstairs. So Im laying in the tanning bed listening to Robbie Williams on CD, which was the only CD I found next to the CD/radio they had down their.

I then heard the jiggling of the door knob and the door moving, like someone tried to walk in and was stopped by the locked door. So I said "just a minute", grabbed a towel and went across the room and opened the door. Nobody. I just figured it was the wife who forgot I was their and went back upstairs. I go lay down and continue doing my thing. Two minutes later it happens again but more forcefully, the jiggling and moving of the door. So I went to the intercom and called up the wife upstairs and she said she was busy cooking. I didnt really think nothing of it, maybe it was one of his kids(2 girls over 10) playing a trick on me.

I go back to tanning and guess what? It happened again! Same as the last time, not violent, but forceful, and followed by a childs giggle. This time I was going to sneak up on the door and open it as it was jiggling, catching whoever it was. I thought it was the girls home from school trying to scare me and having some fun. Plus I wanted the peice of mind it wasnt some ghost or something lol. So Im sneaking up on the door and the knob is going fucking crazy, just as I reach the door it stops.... I wait, my hand poised over the knob waiting for it. A minute went by and Im still waiting, then.. The jiggling! I grap the knob, rip open the door and went Aaaahhhh! wanting to scare the kids who I thought it was.

Nobody there! I stuck my head out into the hall and looked around, I was alone.. That spooked the shit out of me. So I shut the door and Im trying to stay calm walking to shut off the radio and grap my stuff and leave. The door knob jiggled again! I grabbed my towel and RAN to the sliding door, ripped that fucker open and ran up the steps and out into the yard and to the back door so his wife could let me in.

She asked me what happened and I explained myself. She laughed and said it was just the kids having some fun with me. I said I opened the door and no way did they have time to hide plus it was too early in the day and they were at school. She said no, not her kids... The OTHER kids.

She then told me a story about a small group of kids who died around the property in the 20s, they drowned or were caught in a cave in or something like that and sometimes they like to play pranks. Lets just say I NEVER went back down in the basement again!

  4. Hey man I know how you feel. I had an awesome job from 2001 until April 2011. Lived overseas for it, got to travel, and made lots of money. Then beginning of 2011 it all changed. I lost the sweet job, couldnt afford my 1250 a month rent plus other bills. Had to sell my new German car that was almost paid off, had to sell my sweet pimped 2008 Harley that was almost paid off, sold lots of the guns I owned including 2 FN SCAR 17s with about 4000 rounds of ammo for it, my Ar, my benelli M2 and Remington 700p plus some other handguns like HK USP and some sigs. I was losing everything I had and no family to fall back on. My credit score went from near perfect to just above 400, I cant even get a loan for $600 from my bank and I used to spend that on ammo and booze in a month not to long ago. Beginning of the year I paid off both my CCs and canceled them, which dropped my credit score even more.

All I had was a Glock and a Remmy 870 pump left that I refused to sell.

It was rather hard to find another job, really hard to find one that paid more than $13 an hour. Fast forward to now and I live in a shitty town in shit New Mexico, no friends, no one to drink with or shoot with, just me and my GF who has stood by my side through it all. I saved a little money but blew it on a new Colt AR, some mags and ammo and another Glock just last month. I figured I should get it while the gettings good and I WILL NOT sell any more guns for a few weeks of financial peace.

I should be starting a mining job by the end of next month and Im testing with the local PD in 2 weeks. Things are hard but I cant give up. What other choices do I have?

People say money cant buy happiness, but I disagree. It can buy security, and make life more enjoyable.

Looking back I had some really good times, but that means fuck all now. I should have invested more in silver than in lead.

Look up a song sung by Eric Clapton called "Nobody loves you when youre down and out" Great tune

Ok I don't know what your upset about lol. What I intended this video to show is that under stress a pump can be problematic. Whereas a semi takes care of the action for you. Now I now this wasn't real "pressure" but the fact that he fucked up just cause I told him this would go on YouTube shows that a person that isn't trained enough under a real stress environment could have a lot of problems the more things you add...as in the pump action. Because as you can see short stroking a pump does not work to well.

    Fair enough brother

  6. That guy with the pump was PATHETIC! Learn to shoot and know how to operate a shotgun before handing it to him and telling him to shoot as fast as he can. My GF can do better! Faster and without failure too. Heres some pics. She was also using a Remmy tactical which is alot rougher

model of the 870. The 870P is noticeably smoother and better built which is why I kept it and got rid of the tactical. The other pic is her shooting the Saiga 12. Guess which is faster? Yeah the Saiga no shit Sherlock but she can run a pump pretty well better than the guys Ive seen posting vids here lately on the pump.

Id suggest you Google a vid from a guy by the name of Hickok45 titled PUMP VS SEMI. Great vid! He talks about both the pros and cons and also shoots both as fast as he can. Not just as fast as he can downrange not even aiming at something but against multi targets. Its pretty good.

THAT guy knows what hes doing and how to shoot both well.

HICKOK 45 PUMP VS SEMI GOOGLE IT

  7. Yes I know Im right. I think a MAJORITY of LEO would NOT choose a Saiga 12 over say a Benelli or a Remington or even FN for a semi. And anybody who thinks pumps suck

and are unreliable are not just silly, but are dumbasses and uninformed and need to go shoot more and learn how to use one. That goes for any weapon. I dont care what

some podunk gunsmith says or has seen. I guess ignorance IS bliss.

Thats all I gotta say about the subject.

  8. I know this sounds bad and racist and savage but....

Islam religion is THE and A problem, muslims are THE and A problem. They cant be reasoned with, they will never go along with live and let live mentality, and if it were up to them we would all be muslims following their shitty rules and oppressive views. I say lets destroy them all before its too late. ALL OF THEM!!

  9. So that's a big fallacy. All ducks are in fact not white. I know the 870 is widely used, not going to say it's not. In my experience it varies by department enough so that one cannot make an accurate assessment of that claim. Unless you happen to do a police shotgun census that is.

I'm pretty sure that CZ, an Italian brand, or many other options that are Euro made are used in Europe. I'm sure one of the same reasons that a US made shotgun is going to be favored here, it doesn't cost as much.

First of all CZ is not Italian, its Czech. Second, American Police and Military use Lots of weapons that are not American. Lets see, Italian, German, Swiss, Belgium and Austrian to name a few.

  10. The Remington 870 is the most trusted and widely used pump gun used by Military and Police around the world, for a reason.

Cheap, and the buying officer is unlikely to get fired for ordering the same firearms that previous administrations have cleared as 'acceptable'.

But, yeah, a pump is a nice cheap weapon that very reliable, iff you train enough to get the stroking down, etc. Most cops dont though, I dont have time to put in much training myself, and when im sleepy or jacked up on adrenaline I want something point and click.

I guess you could say, pump guns have more ways for the user to fail?

What the hell are you doing with a semi auto shotgun if you dont "train enough" to use a pump gun huh? Maybe you should let LEOs around the world know they should just go with a semi cause its just point and click like they are playing a video game on the picture box. Or what about a coach gun, thats just point and click too all you need to do is load it in fact it would seem easier than both a pump and a semi. I say alot more training would be involved with a semi than a pump, its not just point and click. Like I said the Remington 870 is the most widly used (mossberg 2nd) pump shotgun in the world for a reason and not just because they are cheap. Its because they work, they are reliable and easy to use.

Everybody who is into shooting, home defense, ect should have a Remmy or Mossberg even if youre all about the semi.

  11. Well if Im grabbing one of my pumps for SHTF, then its goin to be my 590A1 9 shot.

When SHTF, I know I can trust it. If I wanted a semi for "serious" use, Id go with the Benelli M2 or M4.

If I want a semi for "serious" use, Id run the KS-K up against any of Benelli's products hands down.

Nothing wrong with a 590a1 at all, its a great American made proven shotgun. I HAD a 9 shot but it proved to unwieldy and traded it for the 6 shot. I then called up this company called Choate and ordered a +2 extension. They dont list it on the website but they make them. It s completly flush with the barrel, parked, and comes with a barrel clamp and sling swivel. Its the best of both worlds. Still wouldnt choose it over my Remmy 870P though

  12. Have you seen any LEOs riding around with a Saiga? Hell no!

They could never work out a buy for those. Price/being Russian are the 2 biggest drawbacks I can see. I dont think the American public would be happy if our LEO were sporting a foreign made mag fed semi-auto shotgun, certainly not from those evil Russians

Really because I know a few LEOs who really like the Italian Benellis riding around with them. What about the guns from Germany or Italy or Croatia or Austria that LEOs have been known to use?

    You guys are silly....

Interesting points but I'm not certain how insulting everyone who's posted in this thread helps reenforce them.

Give me a break man I used the word silly and not even in a bad way, not dumbasses or anything like that. Nice try though, you so silly!

  13. You guys are silly....

The Remington 870 is the most trusted and widely used pump gun used by Military and Police around the world, for a reason. Most errors are by the user, like short shucking it or what the dumbass in the vid did. Have you seen any LEOs riding around with a Saiga? Hell no! I like my Saiga and have HUNDREDS of rounds through it without one problem. My Remington 870 Police (not express) over a thousand and not one problem. Id stay away from the express models.

When SHTF, I know I can trust it. If I wanted a semi for "serious" use, Id go with the Benelli M2 or M4.

  14. A few pictures from the area.

Looking out over the desert from the Carlsbad caverns entrance.

My favorite stalagmite formation in the caverns (one guess to its name. No scale but it is 6 ft across).

What the desert looks like outside El Paso (McGregor launch complex Ft. Bliss).

One of our test vehicles at White Sands Missile Range.

You can see forever because of the lack of humidity. This creates problems at first because you keep going places that are just over there, and then 2 hours later you get there. We used to set out at McGregor and see El Paso clear as bell just over the rise. Actually 42 miles away. You can see mountains hundreds of miles away sometimes. It is beautiful scenically, but very different view to most.

Woe thanks for all the input everyone and missle, those are some cool pics. I do look forward to the sunsets and going out to the desert and shoot.

  15. I lived in NM for many years and worked at WSMR(White Sands Missile Range). Been to both places many times. I like the Carlsbad area the best, but 20-Mags is right. A major change in your thinking when living in the wide open west and not in a major city is that it's a long ways to town. Carlsbad is a fair size place, but you will be running to El Paso more than you want and it's an hour drive or so. Things are a long ways apart out there with miles and miles of nothing in between. WSMR was 48 miles from the nearest town (Las Cruces, NM or 60 miles to El Paso). Once you adapt to the open distances it is a beautiful, but unchanging area to live in. We used to be able to go from 80+ degrees on WSMR, drive up to Cloudcroft and go snowmobiling in the national forest. Some people adapt and end up loving it. Others hate it forever. I will say coming from where you live now, culture shock is going to be a sure bet. Not a tree in sight until you go to the mountains. They plant em in towns, but when driving and you see one beside the road it's an event smile.png

Also you will find the air a bit thin for a year or so. Elevation is generally high (3300 feet in Carlsbad, WSMR was 4800-5000 feet) so that takes a bit of getting used to. Also Nose bleeds are common at first due to the dryness. Saline nose spray is a must at first.

I don't want to make it sound bad, just to let you know it is different from what you are used to. I loved it out there and would go back in a minute, but wife is a Floridian and I ended up at the Space Center so now I'm kinda stuck here in Florida smile.png

Thanks for the detailed response! Id take FL over NM anyday of the week myself lol. Flat and no trees huh? Sounds like North Dakota without the snow and fat ladies. Im kind of excited about a change but wide open spaces no trees will be a liitle weird. People keep telling me about all the drug violence meth and shit like that as well as the cartels running around.

What Im worried about is the small town cops hasseling the new guys stuff. I have my CCW for MN and it allows me to carry in NM I just dont want to be stopped by some LEO and have my pistol confiscated and arrested cause they dont know the laws.

  16. Carlsbad has nice caves which might be a good thing in a shtf end of the world scenario. Seriously, just have to ignore the bats.

Ive read about the caves, might give splunking a try, or at least take a few steps in lol

Roswell is nice this time of year. not sure about the others though. why the move anyways lupo? good luck in your quest brother.

    Roswell as in A-51?

My girl got a chance to transfer to NM for up to 2 years and didnt want to go without me, I said what the hell Ill go. Im going to try to get into some roughneck oil business jobs first thing. Hobbs also has about a dozen Police jobs open so Im going to try for that too. If I could get into Police work I wouldnt mind staying down for a few years then getting the hell out to another PD.
