Here is something to consider.
The terrorist hate America the most. Yet they have done absolutely nothing here since 911.
Do you think that they can"t? They hit Britain, Spain and many other countries but not the U.S.
They could easily cause all kinds of trouble here but they haven't.
My guess as to the reason why they haven't is that they are saving the big one for us.
We will probably lose a couple of our major cities when they do.
Don't expect that people here will keep there heads when it happens.
It is not a question of if it will happen but when.

Man 1Bigdog I love it when you post!
That is one Beautiful animal!
That was Dante, that picture was taken when he was around 12.
He passed last spring at 15.
He was incredibly intelligent and was a great friend.
The good news is that I now have a male and a female that are about as good.
Thanks for your comment.

Cool. I'm not a huge fan of the grip though.
I think the grip is part of the surefire.

Thank you Mr. "T" For I could NOT have asked for more!....ONLY thing better than the friggin gun was the "Buying" expierence itself, Tony Listens and THEN cateres to THOSE specific needs w/ JUST the right amount of input....a simple often over looked process in todays to Market, thank you my friend once again. Report when i get to the range (Couple of Broken fingers put that OFF a few weeks my apologies, BUT on it shortly :-)
Great looking Saiga
+ 1000 on Tony!

Wow that is going to leave a mark.

In the long run plating any wepon makes it worth less to a collector down the road say when they ban imports all togther. I have a 1914 Luger all matching numbers that someone in the past nickle plated. That gun would have been worth about 2,500 but due to the nickle plating its a shooter and fetchs about 250-400. So gold plating IMA degrades the gun looks nice but thats about it. Due something radical like have the entire gun carbon fibered be different you already have a Saiga-12 and there is nothing like it out there.
I would not want a plated S12 unless you believe that polishing and blueing would constitute plating.
Most military weapons would not "dress-up" well. I think that the S12 is an exception with its broad receiver and unique lines.
I have a difficult time putting my Saigas in the trunk when I am going to a skeet or trap range. They draw a lot of attention both good and bad. A few people look at me as being a wacko because without question they are the meanest looking shotguns made.
My guess is taking one out that is dressed up would end up with all favorable reactions and would significantly increase the acceptability factor. Probably most of you don't care about this but "mean" looking guns are much more easily banned than one that looks like it is used for hunting. Yea I know that it is the same gun but that is not how most of the rest of the world looks at it.
I took a WWI Springfield 30-06 military rifle and sporterized it when I was a kid. Filed and polished all of the steel, had a guy modify the bolt handle and I spent about two years with a piece of walnut that I carved to fit the rifle. An old fellow at the time showed me the technique of how to put a hand polished varnish finish on it.
Instead of it being a "scary" military rifle it became something that the average person thought was beautiful. To this day I enjoy looking at it and hunting with it.
I wish I had the time to do it again.
How many posts are on this forum about the fear of these things being banned. It they are banned it will be because they look scary. But there really isn't much difference between an S12 and a Rem 1100. The 1100s won't be banned.

Don't care for fancy, ornately decorated guns, myself. Rather, I prefer the military style.
If you look at my gun wall on one side there are a bunch of black rifles with lasers and night vision shit along with two of Tony's conversions and on the other side there are the engraved/presentation grade wood over/unders, etc.
I guess I'm bi-
But you know ...... it takes a real man to admit it!

OK I know I am going to get flamed for this but I don't care.
Has anyone, or better yet does anyone, take S12s and make them into a work of art?
Like polishing all exposed metal parts and barrels, doing some engraving work on the receiver, putting the finest bluing job on the gun and maybe Burled Walnut furniture?
I can't stop thinking about how good one of these would look.
And I want one.

Has anyone ever shot a Beretta xtrema2?
I haven't but the videos look like the thing doesn't kick at all.
-
I have had one for about 40 years now.
I think it is one of the greatest shotguns ever made.
-
Thanks
How far should the end of the gun barerel be from the door?
If the shotgun has something like a Tromix Shark Break on the end of it can the barrel make contact with the door when firing?
-
How do you do it?

Has everyone who sent their Saiga's in gotten them back?
-
I have gone to a bunch of gun shows in eastern Ohio and western Pa and have never seen one Saiga 12 yet.
But good luck.
-
Humm, I thought if they were transporting kids across state lines it could involve the FBI. All those people weren't local Texans.
But at least one of their parents was there with them.
-
As far as the barrel being a "Might Short"..It was bought & sold in good faith wo ANY criminal intent in mind.. & therefore hard to prove & justify any criminal action..or prosecution.
So ignorance of the law is an acceptable excuse?
-
You all could be right but I thought the main problem was the belief of automatic weapons, etc.
Why would the FBI get invoved with child abuse. Not a federal problem.
"SHTF" = WTF

When it happens, we will have no clue who was responsible for it.
I can't even imagine how our government, or whats left of it, will even respond.
How would we retaliate and against who?
